Happy Tank Tuesday folks! Let us know what you would like to see in next Tuesday's video or ask your questions about our pets and aquarium below. We go over the top comments at the end of every video.
BamaBass I had a problem with my nitrates too what I had to do was when I did the water changes put the gravel vacuum in the gravel and you can see all the poop come up through the tube
I love the tank videos! Something you could try to do for feeding Red Jr is use a straight clear tube or even the intake end of the water draining tube and drop the food in through there. The tube would fill with tank water and the food would sink down inside the tube. You would be able to drop the food right in front of him and Sherrif won't be able to eat it all on it's way down.
I am colorblind and I just watched the whole piece on the nitrites and nitrates and have no idea what's going on but it's still pretty interesting, nice work!
i caught a 22.5 inch 10 pound 4 ounce bass yesterday and brought him home after 20 mins of trying to revive him at the lake (he swallowed my spoon and i had to get surgical) and put him in my tub and he started swimming! looking for a 120- 150 gal tank for him, bought water conditioner and a heater for the time being, super informative vid thanks
hell yeah. Bama bass is spot on with the details. They do grow fast! And most catches if not taken care of properly tend to die off usually in that first week of being in an aquarium. But as juveniles they have a much higher survival rate and are much more likely to make it to adulthood than they would if you was to bring them in as adults. Tank size in that case doesn't matter. If they're not acclimated they will undoubtedly go into shock and usually die within the first few hours of being in the tank unless you release them. I had a few friends that tried it they didn't last. It worked with catfish cuz they're stationary and don't require as much movement. They'll do a few sprints then sit. whereas bass they usually like being able to move. They'll sit from time to time but they're mostly mid to top water fish and like movement.
Get a Pothos plant, take it out of the pot, wash off the dirt on the roots, and place the plants roots into the tank, or in the return space in a hang on the back filter if you have one. Make sure there is light for the pothos, and it will suck up tons of nitrates from your tank. You can also add floating plants that will use atmospheric CO2 and take up nitrates and nutrients from the tank and add O2 into your tank. Avoid duckweed as it is impossible to get it out of your tank totally once it is in there. Water Sprite, Water lettuce, Salvinia, and Water Hyacynth are good floating plants. Be aware the pothos will grow huge and spread out along your tank. Would love to see you get some yellow perch and some native catfish.
I just watched this video, bc im highly considering having a pet lm bass. My question is that i saw amonia nitrite and nitrates were covered, but ph was not. What is the recommended ph for the bass tank
Add some vallisneria (gigantea oor the normal one) plants in the background. They grow very fast and go up to the surface. They also spread very fast making great cover for the fish
I cycle with feeder goldfish and if they survive the cycling, then they are raised up for pets because then I know it’s good a good immune system. I’ve had goldfish with big cichlids and they work out great as long as the goldfish is same size or bigger and the cichlid has a chill demeaner
Caught a juvy Lm bass in Washington , a really pristine lake , and decided he'd be my pet. He was 5 inches. Kept him for a few months in a 10 gallon . I remember feeding him feeders. I put 4 in and in less than 20 seconds he'd swallowed every last one. Something to behold. And I'm saying that as someone who had a piranha previously . Had to move to GA, so bye bass, I found a small pond for him to dominate . On the way he jumped out of the transfer tank onto floor mats at stop light , I got out to grab him quick and he flipped out onto the street. Quickly snagged him up, put him in the water and was in his home 5 minutes later. The war stories that fish hopefully told his grandkids. !
Do you salt bath the minnows and crawfish before putting them in the 300 gallon? I heard its a good way to kill or attack any fish diseases or bacterial infections that the bait could carry and introduce to the tank. And theirs another pet bass named Dyna, a 5 pound largemouth in a 300 gallon aquarium owned by the channel Lip RipperZ Inc and shes an eating machine.
Bamabass: my cousin on UA-cam has some pet bass, but has little money and they are massive! His mom and dad will not let him build a pond In the yard. He said yesterday he is going to get a 520 gallon tank for his bass. What does he need for that monster of a tank? His bass names are airwolf and the 2nd is Gulpa
Very Good information! Very clear to also help me better with my Discus water chemistry! Water changes at 20% in Discus tank weekly. He sounds like Vince Gill as I listen! Lol!
I know I’m a little late...but when you first get 2 juvenile sunfish, how long do you keep the lights dim for them to adjust to living in an aquarium? Like the first week?
We have a small bass in a 30 gallon tank. If we just leave him or her in this tank what will happen. Will the Bass simply stop growing at some point? Will it lead into problems? Please advise. Thank You.
So I got my bass out a lake but it's cold bc it's winter here and my fish tank is at 79 degrees and my bass is breathing heavy from the temp difference do you think he will be okay?
I have rwo small ones. They will eat little strips of meat just as well as worms. The more aggressive and dominant one is starting to eat the pellets I give my cichlids, too. Bluegill should adapt well to pellets.
I think bass Olympics would be phenomenal! Also, will you be featuring any other UA-camrs on this channel? You know, like someone from the Googan Squad or maybe LFG? I think the collaboration would be pretty cool and would get a lot of support!
You should get a rodi water filter instead of using water treatment stuff 😝 I have one for my salt tank and it works great. That way I know that my water that I use in my tank is free of chlorine and heavy metals.
I know this video is older but just an fyi while crayfish will eat most anything it can get its claws on adult crayfish need more vegetation in its diet and may start eating your plants. To avoid this boil zucchini slices for 15-20 mins let cool and sink into tank. A clip magnet works great for this using a magnet on outside to place and remove. Always remove the zucchini after 24 hours though so it doesn't break down and affect water.
I live on city water that has a little chlorine and i wanted to know if i can cycle my water and it would be ok and how could i keep chlorine out of my water tank during water changes
Rabbit Creek Outdoors As long as it's big enough. If you're keeping a bass outside you should get a bigger bass so racoons and birds can't prey on it. Or get a big pool so it has enough room to hide. Check out Catch Em All fishing on UA-cam he has a round above-ground pool full of big fish!
Have you ever train yr bass to eat fish pellets, i finally trained mine and i save alot of money and time by feeding fish pellets instead of feeder fish
Is a filter a must as I have a large tank and I already have a bass I don’t get payed until the 30th so if I do need one is there a substitute that can be used until I can get a filter/awrator
I have a largemouth bass that weighs a pound and a half in a 135 gallon tank. I put him in there one week ago and he still hasn’t eaten. I have about 24 gold fish in the tank and I’ve dropped worms right in front of his face and he just lets them fall. Should I be worried about his health since he’s not eating?
What if you don't use city water but well water instead? I'm sure you might have to go through process of checking the water but, do you think it would be a little more low maintenance than city water?
I put around 20 gold fish in my tank for my baby bass and it will eat 4 to 6 gold fish and still eats fish flakes is that fine? I also have a bluegill and it eats the flakes as well, and would an 80 gallon be big enough for one bass and 3 other fish?
Bama,I'm only twelve and I love you're vids I prefer putting a perch in you're tank those things are cool but just like bass they'll eat all day this is my mom's phone and my 9 year old brother says hi

BamaBass is IT possible for You to keep trout?
BamaBass could you try shad in the tank?
BamaBass how do you keep your bait?? And I'm asking about the shad because they're easy to net here the minnows tend to swim through the net
BamaBass when will you start to feed the bass different species of fish
I'm glad to see y'all supporting Justin and Stephanie.

Nice. Bonnie, Clyde and sheriff looks happy. I actually have a 55 gallon African cichlid tank with synodontist cat fish.
Awesome that you guys supported LFG
Dude this was one of the best informational videos I’ve ever watched such a good job dude
I just watched this video, bc im highly considering having a pet lm bass. My question is that i saw amonia nitrite and nitrates were covered, but ph was not. What is the recommended ph for the bass tank
Daniel Dempsey exactly
8.0 to 8.5 ideally, If the tank has plenty of surface agitation and access to fresh air then you shouldn't have to worry about PH
Add some vallisneria (gigantea oor the normal one) plants in the background. They grow very fast and go up to the surface. They also spread very fast making great cover for the fish

Luke Twiss hi what do you need a droper filter or an arretor
Thank you for this. Just caught a small largemouth. About 7 inches caint wait for my kid to raise it.
They are fun intelligent fish for sure, awesome to see them feed. They CAN eat a lot

Do you need live plants for bass or can you use silk plants?
What happens if you use the drinking water does that have any thing that is bad for the fish in there
I have a 3000 gallon koi pond in my back yard do u think a little 4-6 bass for now will be good to put in there
Great tip on bass feeding at night.
So the minnow bass bait works great for catching bass @ night. I'm going fishing tomorrow night.
Love the blue Gill
Can bass eat fish feed or only live bait
Could u put a smallmouth with Bonnie and Clyde
Zach Creamer if you wanna see smalmouth bass videos, go on my channel I have one and I do feeding videos and all kind of cool stuff

Are you able to have one singular bass or do they have to have a friend with them
I know I’m a little late...but when you first get 2 juvenile sunfish, how long do you keep the lights dim for them to adjust to living in an aquarium? Like the first week?

Yo Bama I cought a smaller trout and switching between waters it died of shock and I feel so bad cuz I love trout what can I do to have a pet trout
How do you know who is who would the bass payroll get that clear the same
