You should def try reacting to many of their edits like Mamamoo being comedians. I actually first fell in love with them being dorks and then music followed
I forget how short they are because their videos are all shot at face height, but seeing Moonbyul (the tallest) get out of an SUV and be shorter than the vehicle really brought it home.
In My Hometown Hwasa and Wheein visit their hometown of Jeonju while Solar and Moonbyul visit Solar's hometown. The people in the video are their parents, relatives and Solar's first dog JingJing who passed away a few years ago. JingJing also appeared in the 1cm Taller Than You music video. 1cm Taller Than You is a diss track. Mamamoo are dissing each other over who is the tallest. The irony is the height difference is only 1cm between the four of them and they are all shorter than 99% of any other girl group members. In You're The Best they are all after the one guy who uses them to do his work. At the end they get sick from it and when they see new girls fawning over him they cheer because they don't have to do his work anymore. Both Wheein and Solar do the high/whistle notes in Woo Hoo. All of Mamamoo's commercial songs are masterpieces and would be most other groups title tracks. For New York Wheein is dating the guy but they string him along by pretending to be in New York while he is in Korea. At the end of the video they get caught out by him. The kissing scenes in Decalcomanie refer to how one feels after getting their first real kiss from someone your first boyfriend/girlfriend. It's very important to South Koreans. Memory is a Christmas song and it also features as the background music for the kissing scenes in Decalcomanie.
Ah ok, thank you for explaining their meaning! But I still don't understand why in New York, the guy was sweating when she was running? It's like they were connected somehow 🤔
@@2J-Reacts since she was also in Korea and not the colder NY, she was also sweating, but played it off by showing that she was sweating because she was working out on the treadmill.
Decalcomanie is definitely over-the-top. It's okay to be overwhelmed the first few times. Eventually you will be able to find different things about the MV that you did not see before. Just keep watching it, you will get it. It has so many views because it's just so complex, plus a GREAT story told in the video, plus (of course) sexy as hell. :)
Decalcomanie was very controversial when it came out, especially the elevator scene. It was actually stronger in that it showed Solar struggling a bit more. Within 24 hours RBW actually removed the scenes of Solar struggling.
Great reaction. 1CM is a joke song on their own height but also because at the beginning they were told they are ugly not korean idol female standard which among other ridiculous nonsense being around 167 cm, and none of these women are near that, they are all short and look tiny on stage compared to the more typical Idols. That end to your the best, they were happy the other girls had the guy because now those girls will be worked to exhaustion. Woo hoo is one of my favorite songs, because of the vocals and yeah that was a commercial, there are other full length song commercials just as good, I will buy anything mamamoo says to buy, lol. New York, is Wheein falls for a guy but says she is in NY, so the other girls help her fake being in NY but at the end the guy finds out they are faking it. Decalcomanie first, I di wish I was that guy, This was one of the songs that won them Queendom and you should react to the queendom performance it is awesome.

Honda (I think) now has a four HOUR commercial for their electric car. I mentioned in a comment that that's an hour longer than the battery in an electric car lasts.
Haha, is ok the guy inside decalcomania is gay. Love your reaction, as a moomoo, we love when someone react to them, so it can help to promote our queen internationally.
Haha ok, I hope they weren't too uncomfortable 😅 They deserve all the promotion they can get, the whole world should know about them and how wonderful they are!
As I'm sure you've noticed by now, in Mamamoo songs passion and desire aren't usually given the PG rated Hallmark greeting card treatment they get in most pop music. They tend to be very visceral and love is almost always risky business on the radish farm whether they're falling in or out of love. I agree that the kissing scenes in Decalcomanie were over the top, laughably so imo with all the symbolic fruit squishing, including cherry popping. 🙄 But, as djvillan pointed out, the song is about the thrilling and out of control emotions that go with a first kiss and sexual awakening. Removing the blindfolds clearly symbolizes the end of their sexual innocence. I don't have a theory about the brush you asked about other than pointing out the obvious - it's erect and red (the color of passion), fully saturated (engorged with blood?), and there's a heart in the background. I suspect your question was rhetorical. lol You really would have been triggered by Solar's kiss in the original version of the MV - he grabbed her and pushed her up against the elevator wall to kiss her. RBW was immediately inundated with complaints and they quickly re-edited the video to remove that part. Solar responded to questions about the scene by saying she didn't have a problem with it. I always wondered whether it was her idea. She seems to take everything to the limit and beyond and she may have wanted her scene to include the sense of danger mentioned in the lyrics. The high notes at the end of Woo Hoo were done by Solar first and then Wheein with Wheepup doing the final impossibly high whistle note, which she also does live.
Haha yes it was rhetorical 😄 I read about the removed part, I definitely would have reacted to that yes.. It's always difficult as we don't know how much they decided, I know other gg who were used in that kind of way without their consent. But at least it seems like MMM is in control of many things?
@@2J-Reacts We don't know for sure but unless we eventually hear otherwise I think it's safe to assume that the members are either directly involved with creating what we see and hear or that they're at least on board with everything they do. It's hard to believe these women could be forced to do something they hated or disagreed with. Of course the company has its rules and they apparently control things like the group's schedule but the creative side seems to have been a collaborative effort from the beginning. I remember seeing the members talk about surprising and offending an outside producer by expressing their ideas about a song arrangement when they were rookies. As I'm sure you know rookies usually shut up and do what they're told, esp back in 2014 or '15. They were just doing what they usually do but many of the things that are usual for them are abnormal for other idols.
@kudgeond755 Yes I think so, it seems like they were showing from the beginning that no one messes with them, like Hwasa cutting her hair off 😏 It's so refreshing seeing artists, especially females, stand up for themselves 💪
@@anonygent Thanks! Solar rarely seems to go into detail or give more than general comments about the themes of their song & MV concepts and I've always wanted to ask her some specific questions about Decalcomanie and others like UOAY, Aya and her solo song Hello.
The high note at Woo Hoo is Wheein
Most of The M/V's(not all) on the oficial site have subtitles.
Wheein is the one who did the pastel drawing... she is a very good artists.
