Hey Laura! You are obsessed with pumpkins and have inspired me to add them to my garden this Spring. Celeriac was already added, along with celery. Beautiful recipes and impressive cooking show. You are getting very close to 1K! How exciting! Thank you for sharing! Take care, Cindy from America. 🙋🏻♀️
Hey Cindy, it is lovely to hear from you, I hope you have been keeping well! I am totally obsessed🤣 my love for pumpkins has literally sprung out of no where, they really are SOO tasty!I think I might try and give celeriac a go, I did hear it can take quiet a bit of time to grow though 🤔 Thrilled you enjoyed the video, it is so exciting 🙈and so rewarding! I have made so many connections and learned so much! Thank you for being here to share the journey with me! 🤗💖
What a gorgeous meal! I was ready to come to Ireland for dinner with you!! You explained and filmed everything beautifully! I love the recipes and I will give it a try, especially that pumpkin pie! I have never had any and I now really want to eat one! Brilliant video, thank you so much!! 👏👏😄👍💕🌸
Nanou that would have been lovely!! Tea, homemade food and good company! 🥰 Robin suggested evaporated milk for the pie filling so I might give that a try next time and compare! I am so pleased you enjoyed the video and hope you have a wonderful evening 💖🍂🙃x
Awesome video Laura, you do such a good job at presentation and details, well done. The meal looked amazing and I loved that you used pumpkin. I put in the ground 4 varieties this year but only 2 came to fruit. I make pumpkin everything as I love it so much. This weekend I plan on making cream puffs and the filling will be a pumpkin cream . I make all my meals from scratch as it is so much more rewarding when you know that you put together this fine dish and it tasted soooo good. If you grow some pumpkin next spring, use an arched cattle panel so they grow up around the panel and they won't take as much space in your beds. I think my failure of not getting all 4 pumpkin varieties to come up this year was because I started them a bit late but I still ended up with a harvest of 10 small pumpkins. Hope you are healing well and I look forward to your next video 🙂 Thanks Laura for your awesome videos 😃👍
Pumpkin everything, you love them too!! 10 small pumpkins 🙌 that is still awesome! Do you have a favourite pumpkin dish? I just googled the cream puffs, oh wow they look so fancy and sooo nice! It is so nice to read about how passionate you are about cooking from scratch! I have always really enjoyed cooking as well, and to be able to cook with ingredients that are super fresh from my own garden is a real privilege and the flavour is just so much better!! I really like the idea of the archway, vertical pumpkin garden here we come!! 😁😁xx
Your Crown Prince pumpkin looks similar to what we call a Queensland Blue pumpkin here in Australia. Really lovely taste, my favourite for savoury pumpkin dishes.
Oh my word!!! So excited to read this comment! I literally have that exact variety, queensland blue pumpkin, in the seed box ready to go for this season! Crown prince's are F1 varieties and I like to grow as heirlooms many heirlooms as I can and opted for the queensland instead, thrilled to hear it's good for eating!! 😁😁
Yum! That meal looks gorgeous! I love squash/pumpkin and lamb! I need to try coriander in the soup, that sounds nice. When I make pumpkin pie I use evaporated milk and only 2 eggs. If you use sweetened condensed milk it’s sweeter and creamier. I have never tried double cream. I absolutely love your cooking videos. Very inspiring.
Hey Robin! Thank you so much 🥰 the lamb was melt in the mouth delicious! I think I am going to make the pie again in a few weeks and try the condensed milk recipe with the two eggs and I think that will do the trick! It was still super tasty though and I am so glad you enjoy the cooking videos! 💖
Well you certainly have outdone yourself these all sound fabulous and look delicious 😋. I hope your getting lots of rest and looking after yourself ❤, Ali 🍁🍂🇨🇦
Hey lovely, thank you for such kind words! Honestly, I have fallen in love with pumpkins, who knew they would taste that good and be so versatile! I am just home from university, so I am going to grab a cuppa and catch up with youtube videos and relax for sure! Hope you are have a wonderful week! 💖🍂🌺
Go for it! I really hope you enjoy it. I have a lovely pumpkin variety to grow this year that is similar in colour it's a queensland blue winter squash, so excited for it!!
I really loved the celeriac! I had some leftover and was thinking I could have used it to top some shepherds pie! I batch cooked the sheppy pie filling there a few weeks back and popped them in to the freezer for a quick meal!
@@thetinygarden_ yes it a brilliant topped replacement for potato , I first found it when I came across a winter dish Similar to shepherd's pie and it has a topping of celerac, and swede mashed together with butter salt and pepper so yummy
Good morning sweetie 😊 Having not long woke… I am now feeling very hungry 😋 😂 Excellent filming/editing/narrating skills ❤ you are nailing it!!! Can’t wait to get my taste buds back to be able to taste again. We are eating lots of squash in soups and stews, and I wasn’t 100% uchiki kuri skin was edible so 👍 for that, will also check out our honey boat. Only had pumpkin pie as a child once, I was used to and loved custard tart 😊 so wasn’t so sure about the pumpkin pie. So much want to try it again so will get cracking with it. (Once I can taste what I’m making) Must check on my celeriac, haven’t even been up the garden in a week, what did you think of it?? And the crown prince?? Have a wonderful day. Love Allie & Tricia xx👩🌾☺️🥰
Hey lovely! Haha I am sure a lamb dinner sounded so appetizing at 8am this morning 🤣 Oh no, no taste still 😓 I hope it is not too long before it returns, but while you have no taste did you ever think of trying that raw onion eating challenge 🤪🧅? Custard tarts, like the Portuguese ones? They are phenomenal! I loved the celeriac kind of nutty and the smell off it was so nice! It was seeing your celeriac that inspired me to put it on the order 🤣 The crown prince was the winner in my eyes, even without any adjustment to the flavour it was super sweet I could have just eaten with a spoon straight after roasting it, it was also slightly thicker in texture and more meaty the kuri but the kuri was equally delish though and you can eat the skin after its roasted so less waste/prep! I am just obsessed with them!! Hope you feel in tip top shape soon, take it easy the garden will be there for you waiting when you're ready!! 💖🤗xx
Beautiful!! Do you prefer filming cooking or gardening videos? I know which one I much prefer 😅 I find the kitchen stressful sometimes, especially with a camera and a tripod in the mix 😂😂
Wow that's a tough choice! At first it was so tough in the kitchen , I dont have any windows in my kitchen so lighting is massive problem and my kitchen is TINY 😆 so finding an angle is hard sometimes! I really enjoyed filming both I loveeeee to cook and and my love for gardening keeps growing! If your doing the cooking, keep at it, it will get easier!! 🧡🎃
Also, if organic, you can save the seeds. My dad grew a Crown Prince in '21. The seeds produced absolutely nothing for me last year but this year I got 4 pumpkins, the biggest at 7.5lbs. As well I bought a spaghetti squash from Sainsbury's last year, saved the seeds which produced only 1 fruit, but a behemoth at 9lbs.
They were organic! I absolutely love the crown prince variety! 7.5 lbs wow that's was a whopper, the one I had in the video was just over 4 lbs! And a 9lb spaghetti squash!! Thats awesome! I'd say that was quite the successful pumpkin harvest you had! 🎃
@@thetinygarden_ My garden is quite small and stuffed to the gills so all my pumpkins were grown quite closely planted and up the fence for space. Just the one plant germinated and, as the original Sainsburys squash was no where that big, I think some unholy Frankenstein 'esqe' cross pollination took place.🤭
I saved a few of the kuri pumpkin seeds and I have half of the crown prince uncooked in the fridge so I will scoop a few out and see what happens next spring! I would definitely recommend the crown prince variety so tasty!
Sorry I has taken me a while to write back I was in university today. Yes, I made the pie!!! It was so much fun and no soggy bottom either 💪🙌 Pumpkin soup is definitely my new fav soup! Thank you for the lovely words! 🤗
I am going to make it again Janet with the two eggs! My friend from America said she uses evaporated milk so I might try that as well. I am still super chuffed with the flavour and texture of it! I have gone pumpkin mad these last few weeks 🙈🤣
Hi laura lovley recipes have already made pumkin soup it's delicious but would love to try the pumkin pie it looks so autuminal yum I don't eat lamb or I would have tried that too love yr recipes need to get my but in the kitchen😂😂
Hey Corrine 👋 so autumnal! My fav time of year!! I was thinking you could substitute the lamb for chicken breast or pork loin or if your vegetarian roasting up a wedge of the pumpkin would be nice too!! Hope you are having a lovely weekend and cook up a storm in the kitchen!! I have some beets in the slow cooker I am testing out a new pasta sauce today! 🧡🍂
Oo wow that looks amazing 👏 im interested to try the pumpkin pie and i seen another recipe pumpkin apple spiced cake whuch also looked lovely Is there a way you do the seeds or do you literally baking tray and in the oven? X Those prince pumpkins are a gorgous colour im deffo going to get some seeds 😋
Hey Tracey! Apple spiced cake sounds so nice, I just roast them up with salt and pepper but you gotta keep an eye on them they can catch quick, I burnt the first batch 😆😆 crown price is a must for next year, tastes SOOO good! Xx
When cutting something round/slippy, put a tea towel on the chopping board first. It won't slip about so much making it more likely you'll go to bed with all ten fingers.
Hey G barbecue, so nice to hear from you! I had awful trouble with the chopping board slipping 😅 I am definitely going to try that with the tea towel, thank you for the tip! I would definitely prefer to keep my fingers intact!! 👐
