- Did you know that J.K. Simmons and Teller suffered brutal injuries while filming Whiplash? Both lead actors in Whiplash experienced genuine pain in various scenes in the movie. In one scene, Teller's character knocks down Simmons to the ground. Simmons ultimately sustained two broken ribs as a result. Furthermore, Teller revealed that some of the blood we saw as a result of his frantic drumming was actually his. We even witness Fletcher repeatedly smacking Andrew across the face to cap it all off.
A small price to pay for salvation
Damn man this comment goes hard. Are you alright buddy?
LOL 😅
No salvation needed there awsome allready.
Not only a typo in your comment. But a typo in your account name... become literate bozo
Jesus how hard did he fall to break ribs??? 😬
Very goddamn hard.
Actually ribs are quite fragile and they can crack fairly easily
He's an old man
@@mattb7094 I’m not saying age doesn’t add to early falls and a broken bone here and there. Just slow down. I realized I’m not 21 anymore ❤️
@@mattb7094 the drummer
Teller isn’t old but acting has its ups and downs. The more you study the character your portraying the harder it is to not get hurt playing a physical character
This movie took the definition of blood sweet and tears to a whole new level
The narrator is not quite my tempo
haahhaha
Was he rushing or dragging?
@@xenomorphbiologist-xx1214I don’t know..

🤕💥🪑👋🤬
Got Whiplash performing in Whiplash performing Whiplash
😂
A classic movie. Unique and genius.
That explains why this movie is a masterpiece
You sound like fletcher lol

Bro pain does not equal good, you freak.
The irony of you thinking this ok is... stunning
@@TheBlueArmageddon beg your pardon?
Wow, obsessive actors to play characters with an obsession for perfection! That fits well!
Paid blood sweat and probably tears to make a timeless movie. Well played both Simmons and Teller.
I expected nothing less from this masterpiece!!!
Man it was a good movie no need of that ribs and all
So this is the pinnacle of acting 🙌🏿
Dang, JK throwin them bows!
Dont forget the cruel car crash from that one scene 😭
I don't think it was a real crash🤦♂️
Greatest movie of all time
Was Teller cast in this because he was already a great drummer? Or was this one of those cases where a versatile actor picks up and excels at some difficult skill in an incredibly short time? Please don't tell me he learned how to play the drums just for this role...
I had seen somewhere else that he’s been playing since age 15
@@arizergiotis4089 Thanks that makes me feel better.
JK was also a frustrated conductor/musician. With the director retelling his experiences, all three of them were destined to such masterpiece.
why would it be so bad for him to learn drums for this movie?
@@harrybiz3523 Not bad... It would be admirable. But I have to believe there are enough drum playing actor/ musicians out there, that that they would be the obvious first choices.
Broke ribs falling down.. common...
Supposedly a violent cough or sneeze could fracture ribs
"Not quite my tempo."
This movie was as good as I anticipated
And that's how Simmons got an Oscar
Rushing or were you dragging....Smack!!!😂😂😂
Omg Luigi looks so different in this scene, but i love it
He was also actually hit by a semi truck
Average toxic relationship
Why do people always fall for these made up stories that “happen” during production, that are just meant to bring attention to the movie…
because this kind of stuff happens all the time and just might not be fake?
Bloody fingers is not a brutal injury…maybe the broken ribs but not blisters
all for the oscar
I thought that tackling scene looked kinda rough for Simmons i didnt realize he actually got that severely injured tho
nice
there was stunt doubles
Yeah, the first one is just a straight up lie
& the car crash?
Why would that be real 😭
HOLY FUCK MAINLY FACTS GUY?
...they had stunt doubles specifically just for that scene come on 😂 in the credits it showed two stunt doubles for Simmons and then one for Teller. There's no way they suffered broken ribs and shit.
This is just not true lol. Although the smacks were real, there were no broken bones, all blood shown was fake blood as you will likely never draw blood as a percussionist. Still best movie of all time
The voicing is not quite my tempo.
Dragging
