I watched the full debate. Mehdi was caught in lies. At the start the 61% of the Audience voted for Douglas's side. After the debate 66% voted for Douglas. Mehdi lost votes because of his blatant lies that's easily re-searchable and debunkable.

I watched the first half and was not impressed with Douglas Murray on this subject. He relied on ad hominem attacks, including name calling, while showing zero compassion for the plight of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Territories. From what I saw, Mehdi Hasan and Gideon Levy made the better case, although, to me, it's common sense that one should be able to criticize the policies of Israel (the Zionist state) without being smeared as an anti-semite. Also, the audience seemed very pro-Israel.

The reason why Douglas and Natasha technically won the debate is because the audience was outlandishly one sided. I watched the first half and was not impressed with Douglas Murray on this subject. He relied on ad hominem attacks, including name calling, while showing zero compassion for the plight of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Territories. From what I saw, Mehdi Hasan and Gideon Levy made the better case, although, to me, it's common sense that one should be able to criticize the policies of Israel (the Zionist state) without being smeared as an anti-semite. Also, the audience seemed very pro-Israel.

Israel will only allow citizenship to Jews and they are not all treated equally. Christians are equally persecuted alongside Muslims with fewer rights and having thier homes and land stolen by settlers in the West Bank. A favourite pastime is spitting on Christians which one Rabbi said was fine because it was a Jewish tradition. Just last year Netanyahu was forced to drop a proposed law where people would be jailed for a year for soliciting, soliciting being the crime of encouraging conversion to Christianity.
