I bought iPhone 16 on 20th itself (launch day). I upgraded to iPhone 16 from iPhone XR . Till now I have no complaints expect the one you mentioned regarding camera control. I honestly use it just to quickly launch my camera and that’s all . No one will use it for zooming in or out and other fearures

So, between the s23 and iphone 16 , definitely go for the latest one because the newly launch phones will have special and new features to explore which will keep an owner engaged and curious. Old phones or the old model / versions / editions will never excite you.

Using iPhone 13 & OnePlus 8 @90hz out of both OnePlus 8 feels faster.
I can say no upgradation till non pro models get 120 hz display.
