Matchbox 20’s ‘Push’ was, to me, a great Easter egg and the perfect song for Ken. The song itself is about the abuser being a woman, not a man. But in Ken’s world, it just goes right over his head, taking the words at face value and propping up his newfound “patriarchal” system. It was also notorious for being one of the most played and obnoxious songs of the 90s.

This is true- at least in my case growing up no one wanted a Ken doll - as a little girl getting a Ken was equivalent to getting socks as a gift. I never had any Ken or male Barbies or the knock off Kens unless it was a set deal like buying Barbie Princess of Swan Lake WITH Prince Daniel etc.
I thought they were pointless. Having one Ken was more than enough to pretend with even if I didn’t change his clothes. I had no idea what they were for besides being her boyfriend. I normally left him in the box cause I didn’t think it was fair Barbie had a boyfriend but my other Barbies didn’t. I didn’t want them being jealous.

“Does that mean Allan was the baby’s father?”
Yes, Allan was part of the Happy Family line, along with Midge, their son Ryan, the two babies Nikki and Cassandra (Midge was a pregnant doll twice), and a set of grandparents.
It was always super funny to me that parents thought it promoted teen pregnancy when Midge was intended to be a little bit older than Barbie (I think she was supposed to be 21 and Barbie was 19?), and she had been married to Allan for a few years at that point.

Yeah but "Sí se puede" is not a phrase coined by any movies. It was first used by the first union of mostly Mexican workers in plantations in the US in 1972. It is widely used in Latin America for any communal big efforts like sports, education, unions, protest and political campaigns because it means "yes we can" signifying that the team effort will get the group the victory. You got the Si Se Puede fact wrong. The easter egg is that America Ferrera started the "She Se Puede" movement with Eva Longoria a few years back. At the end of the film when her character's husband gives encouragement to Barbie and says "She se puede", America's character jokingly says something like "be careful that's a trademarked statement". It's ironic because America Ferrera was the celebrity spokesperson for She Se Puede.

Notice that on Ken's stands "and Ken", not just "Ken"... It's all about this "and" or "just" that makes the difference. It's sth that caught my eye quite recently and made me appreciate the consistency in the details and the meaning that was plotted throughout the film.
