sis out here testing brushes when all i’ve ever used on my thick 4c hair were afro combs and wide tooth combs lmaooo
M you have to try the tangle teeter it’ll change your detangling gamee
Haha tru, that's why I need advice on a brush
My hair likes to break combs. I need a brush.
I can't use combs. The ezbrush is the only one that does the job for me and it does it in half the time of all my other brushes!
same kmt 😭😭
What I got from this: if you're in a rush or using bigger sections, use the EZ detangler. If you got time to do smaller sections, use the tangle teaser. Either way, they're both good.
Yay
S. O. Just wondering what hair type do you have and do u brush your hair wet or dry?
@@stopdrop892 my personal opinion with 4C hair, I use a EZ detangler in my hair for wash day for detangling in the shower and styling, and 3-4days later for restyling my hair all on wet hair!
@@stopdrop892 she cant be 4c cuz my hair needs to be braided and left alone for at least a month to grow
Kufre Akpan well I mean everyone’s hair is different so that may work for her but may not work for you
Its all about the larger sections though, EZ wins for me 👀 Ain't nobody spending 1hr detangling anymore
Exactly! Because my hair has a mind of its own and I don't have time for it
I don’t rlly like the ez probably Bc I don’t rlly know how to use it lol
Periodt... just for it to knot up and dry out again
I use a tangle teaser on my 4b4c hair and it takes me 20-30 minutes if my hair is really really tangled but on most wash days it’s usually like 10 minutes for the entire detangling session
Happy Monday y’all 👀
When are we going to get another wash and go video busy beauty queen lady?
Thank you.. its happier since you dropped a video sis! 😎
Thanks you too
Feliz lunes!!!!!
Pls @chizi duru, do you know where I can get it in Abuja?
Just got the EZ detangler for my sister and she has 4c hair. When I tell y’all the EZ detangler worked WAYYYY better than any other brush I MEAN IT😩👏🏼👏🏼
How long does it take her? I live in box bread bc it takes so much time to detangle then style and everything.
Catherine Tonyé it takes her about 30 minutes tops and she has a full head of long hair!
Mine is coming tdy later on and Im so happy bc I washed my hair yesterday and I did detangle it last night and put in leave in so I'mma try it out when I wash my hair again like in the next week or so
Yes! I just used it for the first time, and it honestly felt like a miracle 😅
I've just bought the tangle teezer for my daughter's 4c hair, I nearly cried when I could get the brush through her hair without her having a meltdown 😂😂 I would absolutely reccomend it! 👌🏾👍🏾🖤
Go to know. I have a daughter with 4c hair and detangling her hair is traumatic.
The wet detangler? The pink one?
Chizi!
This makes me sooooo happy!
I have been developing a brush that addresses these very issues and I would love for you to be one of the first to try it and test it out.
I will be in touch very shortly. 🙏🏾
I hope that you are doing well! 💕
Chizi if you start using the ez detangler brush vertically first, then horizontally, it’s so much easier. Try it and see.
What do you mean by horizontally? I've just been using brushes and combs downwards
@@uchewb3 he uses it in the longer position, odd way to hold it but could be a good idea, then he just uses it like a regular brush.
Agreed. That's the way I use it too and it glides like a dream
Agreed. I go vertically at the ends to get the shed hairs out and then turn horizontally once it gets going.
Doesn’t that cause a lot of breakage tho? 😩
I got my Tangle Teezer at your Afro Brunch in Lagos and I love it so much!! Well done on the consistency 👏🏽
Tip: brush vertical first. Then brush horizontal. Game changer. Regardless of which brush. And Tangle Teezer has the Thick & Curly or the 3c-4c brushes too. Great video!
Tangle teaser all the way for me. My hair is fine and coily. The bristles are thin enough to go between my fine strands and flexible enough not to snap them. The ez was a struggle because my coils just wrapped themselves around the bristles and the bristles couldn't separate my fine strands because they were too big and sometimes would snap my hair because of the tension. I use the red tangle teaser with longer bristles labelled for "thick curly hair". I do my hair in 5 sections and it's not an issue for me.
Omg ez be snapping me even when I brush vertical first, its fine for the front but when we get to the back? All of a sudden I'm hearing snap, krackle an pop 😂
I’m a tangle teezer Stan , life changing
Let's get her to 500k
I don't have loose natural hair anymore but I still love watching you ❤ 💕
I love the Tangle Teezer brush especially when I de-tangled under running water. It was the best experience!
What’s your hair type?
Same here!!
@@teeeee9174 I have the same experience as her with the Tangle Teezer & I'm 4C. 4 SHO'!! 👨🏾🦱
Which brush did you guys use? They have so many and it’s hard to choose
@@any8574 I have 3 Tangle Teezeers. Well, 2 are off-brand versions. 1 is a handheld without a handle by "PLUGGED" that is shaped like a square Hershey's bar that I got from Sally's years ago and it's my favorite.
The 2nd one is the official Tangle Teezer brand I got from Ulta. It has a handle. It's not the 1 they market specifically to 4A-C hair cuz the bristles on that 1 seemed 2 stiff & I liked the fact the 1st one --- the 🍫bar 1 --- had more flexible bristles that bent with my hair instead of pulling it. It works alright. I 'm still trying to figure out how 2 use it cuz it seems like you have 2 hold it at a specific angle in order 4 it not to snag. I mainly got it 4 the handle I thought it would be easier to pick my hair out in a fro if I had a teezee with a handle. I' not crazy bout it.
The most recent 1 I bought was off-brand (actually the brand name is Brittny --- and that's no typo; there's no 'a' between the 'n' & 'y' )from a ghetto beauty supply store, and it was only $5 🤯 compared 2 the $15 or so I spent on the 1 from Ulta that is just so-so!! I actually found this 1 b4 the 1 from Ulta, & the ONLY reason I didn't try this 1 first was cuz the ghetto beauty supply stores don't allow you 2 return ANYTHING!! They MAY let you return things that aren't wearable, but brushes ain't 1 oc them. So, I figured if the 1 from Ulta worked, then Okay--- I coughed up $15 but it would be worth it. If I got the cheap 1 from the ghetto beauty supply 1st & it DIDN'T work, then I'd be out $5 cuz I couldn't return it; PLUS that'd mean I'd have to go get the 1 from Ulta anyway and altogether I'd be out $20 instead of $15. But if I got the 1 from Ulta 1st & didn't like it, I could always return it, get my $15 back, & still go to the ghetto store & get the cheap brush & only be out $5 in the end 🤷🏾♂️. Anyhow . . . the $5 one works better that the Official Tangle Teezer with the handle, $ almost just as good as my $8 🍫bar -shaped 1.
EZ Detangler is the way to go, plus finger detangling too 😆thx lady ❤️🍷
I didn't know the tangle teezer had a handle . The ones I've seen seem to be only the top comb part .
They have them at ulta
Chizi I ordered both after watching your first ez detangler review 😭🙉 I’m def making a comparison video to see how they work on my color damaged 4b hair!
Great video! I have the EZ detangler and it's perfect for my thick coily hair. Honestly a game changer.
Girl you should have used the bristle attachment that comes with the EZ detangler that keeps the bristles together. But I think overall the EZ detangler still works better
it seems like the ez detangler lends to more volume.
Yess,I've been waiting for u to upload this
This thickness 🥵❤️❤️ God I see what you are doing for other people. Me and my E.Africans patiently waiting for foreheads to be a fiyah ting! It’s over for the rest of you lot
Yes sis..can't wait to watch this.
I love that you put Shanique's detangler brush in your description box
I have the tangle teezer wet detangler and I LOVE IT!!
I just used the EZ one an hour ago for the first time I have 4b hair and it worked wonders. Like my hair is similar to chizi just not as thick and with only some 4c sections and the EZ has been the only brush to really leave me satisfied.
My sister, Chizi... look at that hair!! Shrinkage i swear is such an enemy of progress because your hang time was real with each stroke of the detangler girl!! It has recovered so beautifully!
I am always scared to use brushes like this on my hair. Looks like I would be trying it after all.
This EZ Detangeler & Leav-in- Conditioner is a must have for every girl with 4c Type hair believe me you won’t feel any pain and it will be the real first time that you can brush your hair properly without pain it’s a blessing😭😍😍
@@FB-ur6tl Thank you!. I would get my hands on this soon. Detangling 4c coarse hair can be a struggle.
Not using combs is the best decision I ever made for my hair as far as retaining length. My fingers are my comb 😬
@@solarlola5953 same! And i own both brushes too. I tend to use them for my daughters 4a hair and i finger detangle mine
I’ve been WAIIIITTTING for someone with my hair type to do this video ❤️😂
The ez detangler is on amazon for much cheaper, the company basically slapped their label on
I noticed that RIGHT after I ordered it🙄
Gabby Da Epic yessss my mom is buying one right know and I got new shampoo so I’m waiting for it to come so I cans do my routine and see how it is
@@barliacnikfranck9014 how did it go?
@@barliacnikfranck9014 how was it?
I have a collection of about 20 combs brushes detanglers. Including these 2. These 2 are my favorites. Although I use st least 5 different hair tools during my wash routines. Nothing detangles my roots like the teezer does.
CHIZI..... the tangle teezer, does have a bigger brush that they suggest for longer thicker and more dense hair. To which, I feel would be better. However, I’d never detangle large sections, just because I feel medium to small is always gentler on our strands. Team tangle teezer over here!!!!
Your hair is so luscious and beautiful 🤲🏾✨❤️❤️
In my personal opinion I think the tangle teezer with handle is the best brush after used it smoothes out the hair and also the least amount of tension.. let’s be real which one would be better for length retention, the brush with flexible bristles or something without.. if your using something with a stiff bristle it’s gonna rip through a tangle while the tangle teezer actually moved with how the hair moves cause it literally bends.. just saying the tangle teezer is the win for length retention. To each is own
I like the design of tangle teezer a lot more, the handle is sturdy and bristles compact HOWEVER based on reviews I will be getting the detangler since my hair is extremely thick and long. Personal preference, but truly I might even get both!
I have the EZ Detangler. I brush vertically before I brush horizontally. Works better for me that way.
Chizi, I just love your spirit 😊
The tangle teaser is LIFE! I don’t like the idea of the floppy brush design of the other one.
This was really helpful! Thank you ❤️
Tangle teezer will always be my fav brush so glad I found it
A huge help sis, thank you💖💖💖
Your hair is getting so long!!💜
I haven't tried either of those, but I must say I like using Felecia Leatherwood.
i’ve never tried the tangle teezer but i use the EZ brush for my 3c/4a hair and it works so good
I just order the EZ detangler , because my hair has been coming out in clumps with my denman brush. This new brush better work because I have been seeing everyone use it; I have high hopes for it!!!
The denman was designed for styling (and they tell you so on the label). People with loser textures can sometimes use it to detangle and style but to really see it's potential on coily or tightly curled or kinky hair, use it to define coils/curls on already detangled hair and it clumps nicely. It's just inefficient for detangling these tighter hair types.
Tell us what you think!
@@corishim629 great brush
Both of the brushes seemed to work well but I think I’ll get myself an Ez Detangler ✨ I enjoyed this video!
Yes they both do a great job 👍
Hope it worked for you! I have transtioning hair (really hard to detangle due two textures) and I tried every type of wide-tooth comb and nothing worked until I ordered this detangling brush (I ordered it from Shanique Buntyn tho). I agree with Chizi; this brush really does great with larger sections and you do need a conditioner with slip and after that you're all this. This is just my experience :)
Oh wow. Great review. I have an EZ detangler on the way. Can't wait to try
I see you with them inches Chizi, go head gurl
I literally just watched your other EZ detangling video a few hours ago!
Ooouuuu look at chizi's snatched face!!!!🔥🔥
I love them both and agree with your analysis 😄
Your hair got LOOOONG! 😍
Heard the new growth Chizi!
I love Chizi’s hair.
Of course I liked the video girl! I appreciate you doing hair videos for us. Question about the tangle teezer: Are you using the standard or large size of the ultimate detangler?
Thank you sis, I've been wondering aboit both these detanglers.😊
I prefer the tangle teezer, i hate the way the EZ Detangler opens up when you brush through the hair
Loved the London 🇬🇧’Am I alriiite’ Lol Great review! Think I’ll go with the EZ☺️
Love your hair!
So this is my first time reaching a video before it was 10 minutes old woop woop
I need to get this brush!!!
I love your brush’s it’s so nice dear
That EZ detangler better be 4c approved cuz I just ordered one...
That was very helpful. Now you need to test it against the Felicia Leatherwood brush😄
I'm honestly just here to see where the dress came from in the thumbnail. You wearing that sis! Please share 😶😊
Oh. Thanks for the brush review too.
I ordered the EZ detangler! It's on its way today.
Love your channel
The Tangle Teezer looks smoother on the hair as well
Yes another one!
I can see my thick coarse hair somehow snapping that EZ mercilessly 😭
I thought the same thing but it’s more durable than it looks. It really does work
It works better than the denman and tangle teaser,in my opinion.
It’s actually less likely to happen because of the flexibility. I was worried about that, but I’ve actually broken more regular brushes and combs than the EZ lol, it holds up well.
Actually the brush is very flexible it really be snapping back to how it was and it just shows that it's durable
I have used both of them, and I chose EZ detangler because it is easier to clean. I do not like cleaning brushes
She listened to us thanks for the review
So what my take away is, the choice depends on how much time you got that day😆
Wow. This is very helpful. Nice video.
It has finally happened 🙌🏾🙌🏾😊😊🙌🏾😊😊
I have all of them and a flexible paddle brush. I use them all when detangling along with a double sided seamless comb. My hair doesn't play.
Your so pretty 🤩❤️
Im usually team tangle teaser but I may cheat on her and use the ez detangler again👀. Great video♥️
My hair LOVESSSS the tangle teezer!!!! I Stan
I'm so early! Under 1000 views, 15 mins ago, that's early for me unfortunately 😬🤦 I don't have similar hair to her, but I watch cuz she's awesome
This video should have wayy more views
And I’ve been using the Afro comb my entire life
Hey this might be strange, but how much hair do you usually lose when you detangle? I keep all my shed hair afterwards just trying to examine if its too much and is my hair breaking😂😂
😂😂😭 I do the SAME thing! Thank goodness though my shed/lost hair is pretty consistent- a little larger than the size of a quarter with just finger detangling and using a comb. I want to try a brush to save time....but idddkkk, im trying to save my ends
@@tanaicannon5843 hey, thanks for replying. Is this after a day or a couple? I tend to detangle every other day or every 2 days.
@@lettiemessi8863 sounds like you manipulate your hair alot if you detangle every 2 days 😭. I do it at the end of every week but I keep my hair in protective styles alot. Try not to comb your hair too often
It depends on how long you leave your hair undetangled. For a month of no manipulation I get a small palm full. If I detaingled weekly about a quarter size
I loose alot of hair, like alot alot, I'd say its a palm full if I don't roll it into a ball.
I'm a tangle teezer stan as well, but as my hair has grown and thickened I'm having to work in smaller sections. Just might have to break down and try this EZ detangler.
I’d like to see you try the kazmaleje paddle comb since it has longer teeth and the width of a brush. Edit: It’s black owned and you can do larger sections
I was a tangle teezer girl, when we used to use tools. I’ll sometimes use it to smooth if I press our hair.
When watching the ads, I imagined the conditioner flicking all over the place with the ez?
When I am detangling my hair, I take my time.
I love both of them but tangle teezer is a bit faster as you don’t have to keep stroking the brush thoughout your hair that much to get it detangle to the point you like it 💓
The tangle teezer scares me, it reminds me of a brush from my wash days as a child before black hair companies exsisted. I will stick with my ez detangler. My entire family loves the ez detangler!! 💕
Don't be scared it is so smooth I retained all my length using it. 💕
I have a dupe ez detangler form eBay. When I switch, to my tangle teezer or this Swissco brush from Target I feel like I lose more hair in those brushes. So my go to know is the ez detangler.
I'm conflicted on which one to buy, I'll just go for the least expensive I guess
So I haven't used brushes or comb in my hair in a very long while and now Chizi wants me to go dig up my tangle teezer as well as be on the look out for EZ detangler!
Do you finger detangle? I can’t imagine not using a brush or a comb to detangle my hair.
@@Annie-gq8df Yes, I finger detangle. My hair is always in twists and I also do washday in twists, except for pictures, I barely wear my hair out. So I used my tangle teezer today and well, I'm going to back finger detangling. Detangling with brushes/comb is faster for sure while finger detangling takes time as it requires more patience, however, I lose more hair with brushes.
I have the EZ detangler and they are so good on price. Also I thought your suspose to start from the bottom of your hair first. Thanks for review
😭😭 I have to say when I saw you pull out the Maui conditioner for slip, I gagged. somehow their products make my hair like sandpaper, just rough
my hubby loves that ez detangler. He tender-headed but won't say anything. there is a piece that keeps the bristles together. it makes a difference with the tension.
I have found that for me having that bar that holds the "slats" on the easy detangler brush together on there makes it so I feel less tension 😊🤷🏾♀️
First , you're so funny . it's like hanging with my sister. love your videos . Have you heard of or ever tried Chebe powder/oil?
Try the attachment piece that came with the ez detangler and see if it's less tension. Let me know. Please

Chizi are hair salons in NYC open yet? I’m dying for another trim/hair update from you.
