I'm an American in the UK married to a local gal and we travel in Africa, etc. There is a good reason I brought my Coleman petrol stove over with me! She is a great cook and was very skeptical at first but is now a convert to the Coleman. The most common motor transport in the world are those small Chinese motorbikes and they all run on petrol. You can find it ANYWHERE. My Defender is also petrol so we have unlimited fuel anyway ;-) Funny enough though, I have a small 15L diesel tank for the cab heater. Next on her list is the Tfal pans with removable handles!
Honestly this is the best all round cooker for travelling. And soooo cheap as well. Yes those pans are so cool we were so surprised to see in North America people were curious about them
It's amazing what little we can live with and be happy. We live in a 29' travel trailer full time and love it. For sure, you have to keep everything nice and clean and tidy like you guys. Thank you for sharing your living situation. Enjoy life 💖💖.
Excellent video, guys. There is so much good equipment nowadays that make hiking, camping, kayaking, overlanding etc., so much easier and more comfortable. Especially lower weight cooking equipment and sleeping gear. Can you imagine what it was like way back in the 1950s or 1960s overlanding with those Series 1 or Series 2 Land Rovers and all that heavy equipment that they had then?!! Great choice of equipment that you have - well thought out. 👏👍
there are so many things to consider! but that is also the fun part to review equipments, identify the best products, balance it against budget and space etc...
That is a really good one! but so far we already got rid of a few stuffs. Did not think of mentioning It though. but I think after one year on the road we might want to do a video about this.
Love your videos. We hare a lot older than you and have a 7.5m motorhome that we do long trips in in (though we don't live in it full time) and I agree its interesting which aspects of a 'mobile home' are the the best with regard to your well being when you're away in it a long time. We love our fixed bed and our Ayacucho Unisex Technowool Slippers and cafetière for instance. PS at my age I also love the fact we have a toilet on board 😂😄
Hi Brian only 2 items out of the 15 are equipments from a partnership in this list. Nothing is remunerated here. We have a full video on partnerships if you want to check our approach to that.
Outstanding. You should do, if you have not already, steps to maintain the Defender 110 and how you get ready for your trips. Thanks again for sharing. Happy New Year!
@@NextMeridianExpedition You guys have exhibited a true and sincere love of traveling/expeditions. I know that it is not all glamour or IG moments. Keep up the good and thank you for sharing. Be safe!
Cool! That solved some mysteries for me. I wondered what the bags on the front and back of the vehicle were all about! Great set of equipment! Well thought out!
Not at all we always make it dry outside before wrapping up. And the water goes directly on the ground so we have organic soap or if we know we might need soapy water we have a little bucket we stand in to collect the water
Not sure where you are but it sounds like staying put for a while might be your best options with all the road blockades and violence around Mazatlan and neighbouring areas. Scary as hell and stay safe .
Thanks for sharing. Have you considered adding links to where you purchased some of these items so that others may easily buy them & perhaps you could earn a commission such as on Amazon?
Hi Nick and Mathilde, well done!! May I ask if the fixed solar panel is enough to cover your needs or if you need to get the extra mobile panel out every now and then?
Hi Francoise, so far it provided for all our needs. BUT we can say it was super useful when our electric system burnt including the converter sending energy from the solar panel to the battery - we were able to use the foldable directly on the battery. And, we were mostly in cold weathers so never felt the need to parc in the shade. In very warm countries we might be happy to park in the shade and extend a cord to the sun.
You two deserve more than a million subscribers. That's all I am going to say about that. Keep on doing your thing.
hahaha and you deserve a million thank you. that is all we are going to say!
On va regarder attentivepent et prendre note 👌
Et si vous avez des meilleures idées on prend aussi
It looks chilly there.
yes we had just crossed to mainland were a bit higher in elevation and it was early morning as we shot this. pretty cold
Next Meridian Expedition is #1!! Always helping and inspiring people, truly grateful
Thank you so much! that is super nice of you!

SUGGESTION.

Haha yes that is the key: clean and tidy !
Salut!
Amazing set up. You certainly need to be careful with Mexican water, so the filters are great!
No doubt! So far it has been quite easy to find filtered water for very low budget.
Good video and thanks for sharing. Great advice and agree. Enjoy our travels and each other. Great stuff.
Thanks for watching! It is our pleasure

totally agree, definitely nothing as compact. would love to see a fully equipped LR from those years.
As always good information keep enjoying the beautiful trip 👏👏👏👏👍
Thank you! Will do!
Muy bueno.
Gracias !
Loved the gas stove! I have an old one and they are great!
Good to know it lasts! that s exactly why we picked it. cause it felt it could outlive us hahahah
Ah awesome! thanks for all the insights, love the side table on the window & the Bonnet bag! EPIC 🔥
Glad you liked it! You guys getting a trip ready around the world too?
@@NextMeridianExpedition For sure, one day!!! You guys are inspiring us so freaking hard, love to see it all 🤩 Keep it up!

The toilet is a fair one jahahaha! Our friends Cody and Olivia made sure to have one in their 4x4. Important investment of space in a car this size!
That should cover quite a few of the endorsements and partnerships you have with product sponsors......

Great idea, we are still learning ourselves many things on the maintenance but we will add it as a project at least to share how we try to do it haha

hahahah yes a lot of bags... we love that it is extra storage that is still quite flexible to move around.

thank you Michael!
Fantastic video , great info , I’ve just learnt a few useful things there , thanks guys 👍🏻
good to know! don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions!
Very informative thanks
Thank you for watching Dave!
Hi guys, thanks for this great video! Would you tell me where you bought your bonnet bag? It looks like a perfect fit for my TD5 :-)
Hello! we bought it from a UK brand called rock and road 4x4. the easiest is to contact them directly on instagram
@@NextMeridianExpedition Thanks for the reply! All the best to you and enjoy your travels!
Great video! Do you have issues with the shower getting moldy? How does the shower water drain?
Not at all we always make it dry outside before wrapping up. And the water goes directly on the ground so we have organic soap or if we know we might need soapy water we have a little bucket we stand in to collect the water
Another great video -- thank you! I would love to know the brand of your warm coat.
Hola! Thanks a lot! It is a Rab jacket
@@NextMeridianExpedition THANKS!

Hi Craig, Luckily we crossed the area already. We passed by without any issue a few weeks back (we are 2 weeks delayed on uploads vs travel time)

We didn’t think of it, maybe next time 😊 thanks for the idea
Bye bye!
Haha yep 😊 cute
You may have already answered this in another post but how much heavier is the Defender with all the added equipment and fluids? Thanks!
With everything full: the diesel and water and the equipment we are at 3 tons so the car is quite heavy
When you shipped the landy did you leave the bonnet bag on or you put it inside? TX
We put it inside! we locked up the equipment it contained and put it in a normal storage box. we figured it is so specific someone would not steal it.
How are you enjoying Mexico?
yes a lot!!

Whats the open campfire cook top you guys use over the campfire with 3 sides? I tried googling it and cant find it.
It is front runner :)
