If you don't do a pre-carve, wheels aren't going losing any traction, i think you should focus on carving first. Check out motionboards content on how to slide, or Downhill 258. Standup slides on flat is super hard, get to a melow hill to get decent speed. Cheers!

Nice to hear you got the happy cruiser, can you do a review about that? I am really interested in one, however I own a comet cruiser already that I imported, so this would be pretty much quiver killer overkill. Gotta admit it still is a struggle to not order the thing as well :D

Just to give you the short answer:
Way better build quality on the happy, less flexy tho.

A more purpose built shoe will make a big difference I think. Or at least I can't skate at all in a trainer/sneaker because they are too squishy. Any flat vulcanized sole will do fine. Vans aren't top of the line or anything but quite often available at big discounts because they are worn by so many people other than skaters.

It’s scary and you’re doing well. You need to crouch down in a carve first and then extend to de weight the board, pushing out with your back foot then drop back down to hook up. Ultimately aim to slide all four wheels. Your legs are way too straight and you are cruising toward a high side. Watch the Qantum guys: Jan is one of the best, also Bumpy Hales and Scott Mano.

Planning on buying a happy sticky myself! You got it setup with 108mms or 129mms? And also, I heard one guy got wheelbite with happy's wedge risers, are you using the wedges and if so, do you experience any wheel bite?

Coming from someone who owns it and has skated so many different styled setups. The sticky is the best cruiser on the market, super high quality. You can push, pump, slide super easily
