Dude I just got out of an 1h 20min MRI and while I absolutely suffered mentally the process, I found the sounds quite inspiring to make some techno tracks 😂
Bro MRI Machine is so terrifying+ claustrophobic and the voice is like what can I say about it. I was inside MRI machine about 20 min. And I am 11 years old.
This video helped me a lot to get prepared for what am I going to expect in the MRI room.. I am not claustrophobic but loud noises bother me a lot… I kept listening to this video before my appointment for at least 3 to 4 times and that prepared me a lot for my appointment, and I got through it very easily. Thanks a lot.
I've recently had an MRI done, and it was my first one. Some advice: 1.) Ask for calm drum and bass on their Pandora/music channel they have. It drones out the MRI noise, (and humorously; it's on beat. MRI dropping sick beats 😂) This seriously works, and you really don't hear the noise. You think it's part of the music! 2.) Put a towel/washcloth over eyes. Ask them to put a washcloth over your eyes. This really helps, because your brain confuses that it's time to sleep. Why? It's darker, and you're staying still for a long period of time. Yep, just like a bird. Strange, funny, but it works. As someone who has SEVERE medical anxiety and can get claustrophobic; this made my MRI experience a good one. I nearly fell asleep. 😂
@@mikearisbrocken8507 No, here is another one. I also think this is very helpful to make this examination technique while resting in the machine better tolerable. This sequence here is very interesting, but my heart MRT additionally had fascinating extremly fine and complex sound and rythm patterns. I was absolutely fascinated to listen to this. It also helped me to stay concentrated to follow the breathing steps to make good 3D scans from my heart possible. For me this was an exciting experience beside the medical needs for this really expensive imaging.
I had an MRI scan once and I enjoyed it. Now I tried to find MRI sounds online but they are different. I've discovered that my MRI machine Toshiba Vantage Atlas must be quieter than others, at least it's marketed this way. It didn't produce high-pitched noises, but rather mostly soothing low frequency rhythms. Any possibility to find sounds of Toshiba Vantage machines?
GOD!!! I just got back from an MRI scan... it was like being stuck in a very loud fire alarm!!! My advice would be; when entering, close your eyes, if you open them, have a quick feel where the walls are, as they're not as close as they first seem (about 5-6 inches further away from you), also; make sure your headphones are fully covering your ears (ask them to turn up the music too!!!)... Thirdly; keep your eyes closed, focus on the music (I recommend Enya, which for the leaflet I saw was D6, D7) and either meditate or imagine yourself somewhere out in the open.
Being claustrophobic these things are freakin terrifying lol. I’ve had to have two MRIs and hated them both. But I will admit being blindfolded and having music playing in headphones did help a lot with the claustrophobia.
I was in one earlier and I’m claustrophobic so I was freaking out I told my doctor I will never go in again cuz I pressed the button for them to let me out and it took them 5 mins to let me out PTSD much
For the first time, I was in this MRI scanner (3T Siemens) yesterday for 30 minutes for spinal scan and it freaking terrified me. I was like head locked, face caged. Being a claustrophobic, I wanted to get out of it immediately. Today I'm searching in youtube for MRI sounds. Missing it now maybe 😅 The sound capture in this video is well done
Thank you for this MRi sound track for half hour this exactly feeds my need. I need to do MRI every year to monitor my head n neck cancer recurrence. But as age grows I feel more uncomfortable to keep my head unmoved for 30mins. I think I need to practice this sound every time before the real scan.
At age 78 I'm going for my first spine MRI next week. Hearing what people say are kind of scaring me. Thank you for taking the time to do this, I now know what to expect.
I find this so relaxing. The operator always ask what music do you want to hear? I say nothing. I just played this in the car via bluetooth at a very high volume seat layed back on my lunch break. I didn't want to go back to work.
Had a 30min MRI today. Had 3 in total now. Nurse asked if I wanted music on, i said yes. Music never played so listened to this for 30mins 😂😂 In the end i was making my own music from the sounds 😂😂 and trying not to have a panic attack due to being fat and big boobed in a small space 😂😂
I hope this video was helpful! Listen to the sounds of a Brain MRI scan and abdomen/pelvis MRI filmed inside the scan room here: ua-cam.com/video/TIsrOtSSUQY/v-deo.html
I was wondering what all the different sounds were - clearly different modes of doing SOMETHING... now I can look up each of these terms and their sounds to know exactly what the machine was doing when I heard each sound. thank you for this!
My first MRI was a spinal MRI like this. I was like 10 or 11 and had to be rescheduled with anesthesia, because the first time I went in without sedation and got so scared that I was shaking and twitching in the tube and it was messing up the scans lol. These days I really enjoy MRI trips though. I guess when you're a kid everything is scarier.
This is totally Industrial Music. Some of the rhythms are great. Ostinatos too. Hated my bilateral shoulder scan experience, but only because of the pain of having my right shoulder in a plastic thingy and forcing the shoulder in a painful position.
I had to have a mri and as someone with anxiety and the stress of fearing someone wrong with me and the tight space and loud bangs I just completely had a full blown panic attack and had them stop and pull me out. I refused to do it unless I was knocked out/sedated. They drugged me up and I remember nothing and turns out I'm just fine
I am having a MRI next week and have an anxiaty disorder with claustrophobia. I have my pills ready. But I wanted to hear the sounds to help with the shock. This noise is almost hilarious.
That’s great to hear. It’s just a little bit of noise. Most of the time, you can barely hear the sounds through the hearing protection. I like to nap during my MRIs :)
I had an MRI after this comment and could,t go through with it even with anxiety meds. My doc said a lot of her patients couldn’t. Had a cat scan. It shown a few things but still may need an MRI. They will have to debate me. Medical profession, please come up with a better way for us to tolerate this procedure.
One time I had an mri I was so nervous. Before (way before) I got it (this year) my mom showed me the sounds it makes. When I heard them, I bursted into tears bc I’m am scared of loud noises. I couldn’t believe it bc I had to do it. The day I was gonna get my mri, I was so scared. In my hospital room, I shook there, with my parents with me. I was SUPER nervous about the anesthesia bc I would get a poke, I had a feeling of intense butterflies in my stomach, I felt sick, and my stomach hurt so bad. That’s how scared I was. When I got wheeled into the mri room, I started crying hard. I was having a full on panic attack. I felt really tingly bc of my anxiety + the panic attack. Before they poked me, they but me to sleep. I was given laughing gas, it only was a matter of seconds before I fell asleep. since I was asleep, I can’t remember anything, not even the sounds, not even the poke! When I woke up, I was in my hospital room again, I felt nauseous like I was gonna throw up. But I didn’t! I said “it’s over already..?” I was still a little groggy at the time. It was quite the experience, but it was worth it. My results came in and my brain was perfectly normal. My parents though I had cerebral palsy. But I didn’t. That was my experience, thank you for reading. :)
Glad you came thru with good results, but I've had numerous MRI scans on my head, and I practically fell asleep! The ear plugs quieted the noise, and even though I am VERY claustrophobic, I just kept my eyes closed and pretended I was not being shoved into a tube. They also always give you a button to press if you feel the need to get out of the scan. I called it the "panic button", to which the medical person laughed and said "No, we like to think of it as the room service button". Anyways, just hate to have someone read your comment and then be scared of having an MRI done. It really is very easy and can actually be relaxing.
I went thru this morning, It was very scary experience in my life. Terrible sound + unable breathing at small compartment. Eventually I pressed emergency button after 5min. Switched over to CT scan. Just like move from hell to heaven. Lesson learn, don’t Torture yourself with MRI.
I almost fell asleep last year in an open Hitachi(?) machine. The patterns are so relaxing. I just wish I had a better idea of how the image is scanned in 3D space. Like I wish I could see a realistic animation of how the waveforms translate to coordinates. I think I could tell roughly where it was scanning by the sound. I just want to know more about how the waveforms themselves.
My mum had an MRI for I think her back and neck yesterday, it lasted 40 minuets and I wanted to hear what she heard, at first after watching a few videos I found it horrifying, but now not so much, more fascinating, tho I still hope I won't need one any time soon
I had my first mri of my shoulder a couple weeks ago-it was mesmerizing lol! It felt like an alien invasion of the body-perceived-I did feel electricity at the hip areas only upon the start. That scared me and I was wondering if that would happen anywhere else when I got further in but it didn’t thankfully
I have never been in a MRI or ever heard one in person. How manu decibels is a MRI scan from both inside the room and inside the control room with with the door close?
An mri is usually 110db tops. The loudest sound you can hear without needing hearing protection is 85db. Anything over 85db will cause hearing damage over a long period of time.
I've one of theses exams each 3 months because of 5 hernia in my back I've got from a workplace accident. I had also a couple of theses before and after the liver transplant I had last years. I prefer the Siemens machine because they have a kind of mattress. The plate in the Ge in quite hard and make my back hurt even more ( I've chronic back pain) They also did many 6 or 7 of my head before the transplantation because they were afraid of an aneurysm ( they discard you if you have anything else bad because it's a costly operation and they don't do transplantation if you're going to die of something else soon ) the whole exam take 45 min and 1h to 1h30 with coloration. I usually fall asleep in the machine.
I lasted 10 minutes inside an MRI torture chamber before I had them get me the fuck out of there. I hope I won't have trouble getting in an elevator or plane again. The blaring noises are UNGODLY. I'm going to try Mack's silicone putty earplugs and heavy sedation and try one more time. I'm going to blare this horrible video while laying flat with a sleep mask on my face as training. It's hard to believe that MRIs have been around since the '80s and they are still this horrible.
Had a 45 min one done a couple hours ago kept my eyes closed cause id most likely panic if I kept them open I actually quite enjoyed the sounds and about 20 mins in was getting sleepy I was really groggy when I got out
I’m absolutely terrified of having an MRI 😱. Firstly I’m claustrophobic. Secondly I have a phobia about electrical machinery, and especially the sounds. Finally I’m Autistic and I get triggered by certain sounds quite badly. I can’t avoid having the procedures, but I have to have sedation.
I totally agree with you I had an MRI done for my epilepsy a couple years ago and yes I'm very claustrophobic of it too I can't stand the noises it's too scary
ahaha, thought watching some MRI sound videos online would help prepare me for my first MRIs coming up...but as someone with a sensory disorder and auditory processing issues...this is severely panic inducing xD I hope they can play me some really good music or im doomed.
I only felt the vibration per series with a different sound wave from low to high even though I am deaf without a hearing aid. My guess is 3-6 minutes makes 4 sets of shots at once from time to time
I have had now 4 MRI''s of the head!!! So if you think this is loud try getting it blasted into your ears! Fortunately the machine I had today was roomier and it was shorter, only 30 minutes, the others were one hour! I do not like this at all but it is better than exploratory brain surgery.
as an audio engineer, what mics did you use to record this A to not blow out your expensive mics and 2 so they didn't get stuck? did you end up compressing or using any EQ on the raw tracks to deal with the noise in any way? I definitely want ear plugs or headphones with serious attenuation so I don't damage my hearing if I ever have to get this done again though.
I was in the tunnel for the first time three days ago, but I lasted 15 minutes even though I had a stomach magnet in the area for 25 minutes. I had a panic attack in between and a bit of dread of cramped quarters know in advance and do not anticipate before entering the tube. It was horrified at first because it was too narrow quickly and a bit wider in the back, but 50/50 is ok and 100% doesn't make it easier.I'm deaf, so I can't hear any music with headphones and I can't communicate the nurses' speeches through headphones, for example how much time is left and how many minutes have passed 🤷. It is annoying unconsciously. The 60cm diameter can be hard for many people with claustrophobia, as it happened to me. I read and researched that maybe 70 or 80cm diameter eases claustrophobia and tightness for many feeling decreases. Something else should be improved because of the people. Claustrophobia to be taken seriously and how to act.As a deaf person and as a hearing person, it's a little different because the hearing person can hear through headphones through the nurses for minutes, etc., which makes it easier, but the deaf person can't.I realized myself that why would that happen and the most disturbing thing is when the opening is too close to the ceiling, uncomfortable even though there is air conditioning and little lighting and a little width (not very Useful even claustrophobia) therefore 50/50 .
Oh man I am being triggered! 2016 to 2018 the worst years of my life so far. Breast cancer. Diagnosis with MRI. My whole body is reacting again now. I thought I was over this. Watching to see, and no I am not over this. Still extremely upset by the sound. God bless medical science, but boy do the patients suffer from all the interventions and the needles. The beep sounds in hospitals still upset me, and the other day a photocopier upset me... The mind is a mystery. We store emotions in sounds it seems.
The continuous pumping sound is the liquid helium recondenser (aka coldhead) that is attached to the magnet. This video shows the coldhead assembly and the liquid helium lines that help keep the magnet supercooled. ua-cam.com/video/t0RRc-KIvf0/v-deo.html
I just had one done today,it was the worst experience ever, and I had some done in the past, it took 40 minutes,my kneck, lower back, the noise was extremely loud, had some cushions placed on both sides of my face, very tight, then a bracket in front of my face pressing on my chest 😬,bad, bad experience ,had a headache all-day long☹️
@@merav116 you need to be thinking about other things while in there,oh I forgot to mention, you need to be completely still, cause if you move they'll start the process over 😳
@@merav116 I just had an MRI done and loved it, I nearly fell asleep. Don’t worry too much about it! Talk with your medical team before ruling it out completely.
Don't exaggerate. Just think you are on the beach. It's safe and nothing will happen to you in there. Of course people go in there for a reason. And some reasons can be scary unfortunately.
Of course! That’s a great idea. What kind of commentary would you be interested in? I can go into detail about the different scan sequences and how they affect the image. What do you think?
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer thats cool! i was thinking at a full simulation, you know when you tell the patient the next scan and the time it will take and reassure them? i wanted one thing like this, and if a voice for the patient is needed, i can do it
Wow 15 minutes is not bad at all. Brain MRI scans keep getting faster and faster. I hope all went well with your MRI. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Well shunts normally don't have metal (that I know of) I think it mostly depends on if you're shunt is programmable but I don't really know for sure I have a non programmable vp shunt and have had about 3 or 4 mri's no problem
Andy makes a great point, shunts are typically made with nonferrous material. MRI scan protocols for patients with a shunt utilize turbo scan techniques such as single shot fast spin echo to reduce image artifact and provide quicker scan times
I have a v p shunt too! Never had a issue with mris Even had a Spectroscopy mri with the titanium stitches still on my skull... ( well surly that day I thought that I'd be pulled by the machine...
How to replicate this entire process Step 1) invest around $2,000,000 Step 2) buy an MRI Machine and the supporting computers Step 3) install Audio Isolation Step 4) contact your local electrical department for receiving commercial rate voltage on thick cables Step 5) proceed
Thank You for watching!

Had a 45 min one done a couple hours ago kept my eyes closed cause id most likely panic if I kept them open I actually quite enjoyed the sounds and about 20 mins in was getting sleepy I was really groggy when I got out
Sick dubstep
My guess is 3-6 minutes makes 4 sets of shots at once from time to time
that sound is dope!!
Oh man, I love Merzbow
yesterday was my first MRI scan and I really love it very interesting
I have had now 4 MRI''s of the head!!! So if you think this is loud try getting it blasted into your ears! Fortunately the machine I had today was roomier and it was shorter, only 30 minutes, the others were one hour! I do not like this at all but it is better than exploratory brain surgery.
My last MRI was a brain and whole spine one and lasted 45 minutes. I felt asleep about 20 times 😂
THIS IS INCREDIBLE Talk about science communication.
as an audio engineer, what mics did you use to record this A to not blow out your expensive mics and 2 so they didn't get stuck? did you end up compressing or using any EQ on the raw tracks to deal with the noise in any way? I definitely want ear plugs or headphones with serious attenuation so I don't damage my hearing if I ever have to get this done again though.
and I actually just saw your ear plug links in the description. as a drummer I'll definitely pick up a couple of pairs
Sounds like a bit of PTSD , probably need a bit of counselling or CBT to help you overcome the bad memories

Ngalamin banget nih musik dari mri
Ampunn... Deh
i just imagined i was in a techno party or my phone was ringing or i was just playing video games. No other way to do it!
These sounds feel like head massage 😅
Like the air compressor or the electric generator wow that's fascinating
Had mine done last week, was like the worst Daft Punk concert EVER.
Can it like explode during the exam? What if there is the storm outside? Can I escape without being withdrawn?
2:07 Why is the MRI scan Axial T2 Ideal that long? (2:38) What's it scanning?
Nice!!! Thank you for sharing
Amazing as always 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
i had an MRI before on my ankle it was really noisy i was getting sharp pains in my ankle
What is that continuous pumping sound ...
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer got it , thanks for the explanation pal
I love that sound
You can say the pump is chill
I just had one done today,it was the worst experience ever, and I had some done in the past, it took 40 minutes,my kneck, lower back, the noise was extremely loud, had some cushions placed on both sides of my face, very tight, then a bracket in front of my face pressing on my chest 😬,bad, bad experience ,had a headache all-day long☹️
Wow and i was thinking to ask for this mri scan for my back😵💫
@@merav116 you need to be thinking about other things while in there,oh I forgot to mention, you need to be completely still, cause if you move they'll start the process over 😳
@@merav116 I just had an MRI done and loved it, I nearly fell asleep. Don’t worry too much about it! Talk with your medical team before ruling it out completely.
Don't exaggerate. Just think you are on the beach. It's safe and nothing will happen to you in there.
Of course people go in there for a reason. And some reasons can be scary unfortunately.
@@cino4919 the noise is extremely annoying!
I feel like I can do a dance to the washing machine soud
Me too 😍
thats the same MRI machine at Wansbeck General hospital in Ashington
wonderful video! can you try to do a video of the same scan but as if you were talking to us (the patients)? lemme know, that would be great!
Of course! That’s a great idea. What kind of commentary would you be interested in? I can go into detail about the different scan sequences and how they affect the image. What do you think?
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer thats cool! i was thinking at a full simulation, you know when you tell the patient the next scan and the time it will take and reassure them? i wanted one thing like this, and if a voice for the patient is needed, i can do it
I have th scan no contrast tomorrow. It won’t be long I hope ?
Just a question
Have you ever worked with other mri brands
(ex. Philips, Siemens)?
Of course! We work with GE, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba. I can make some shorts featuring other systems if you are interested
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer yes I am 👍🏻 👍🏻
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer oh, can u do a full body scan in a Toshiba please? 🥺🥺🥺
I just had a brain MRI last week. Was only 15 minutes so yeah, a full body around 45. Nooo thanks! Lol
Wow 15 minutes is not bad at all. Brain MRI scans keep getting faster and faster. I hope all went well with your MRI. Thank you for sharing your experience!
i like the sound
Sound good
Do y’all have a specific program that y’all can do for people with shunts or is that just a normal head scan program
Never had a issue with mris
Even had a Spectroscopy mri with the titanium stitches still on my skull... ( well surly that day I thought that I'd be pulled by the machine...
Never thought titanium would be affected by an MRI. Usually only ferrous metals are affected.
Do you think that you can do a full body MRI on a GE Signa Premier & Siemens Magnetom Vida 3T MRI Scanners
If yes can you please make a full video of the Full Body Scan on Both 3T Magnetom Vida & Signa Premier MRI Scanners
How to replicate this entire process
Step 1) invest around $2,000,000
Step 2) buy an MRI Machine and the supporting computers
Step 3) install Audio Isolation
Step 4) contact your local electrical department for receiving commercial rate voltage on thick cables
Step 5) proceed
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I come here to find similar experiences, but I find out everyone was freaked out. I fell asleep in the machine.
Hate those things, but the sounds could make for som sick additions to some music tracks🙃
"Do not replicate"
Because we all have MRI machines in our basements to replicate this
meri bhi MRI hui thi aisa lag raha tha music baj raha ho.. lekin iski voice diffrent hai
É isso aí mesmo valor da minha proposta
