Consider that was a live performance, recorded on a cell phone, and that killer band was not holding back, yet this little girl stands up there knocks it into the stratosphere.
Lee, Angelina indeed knocks it far beyond the cheap seats. When I first saw the song title and her picture pop up on UA-cam I said, "Oh hell no, this little twit is about to piss James Brown's fans off!" Man was I seriously mistaken. From the first to last words it was a mind blowing masterpiece. If anyone would've told me a 12 year old Norwegian girl will make folks feel the deep soul stir in their hearts 😢 my response: only a very select group of grown singers could do that. Angelina, now 14 has just been rewarded a contract with a major recording agency. I pray that her talent is treated with the greatest of care.

This is one of my greater favorits from Angelina, and as soon as her B&W video of "I Put A Spell On You" popped up, I made a wish (to my self) that she would take on this song as well. And boy what a jump my heart did as she two years later came up with THIS. AND she even put it on her first CD, called "It`s Magic" (of course). If you look at the female clarinet player to the left when Angelina she starts singing, you can see her smile. These are seasoned professional players which have probably played with countless professional singers, and for her to smile when this young singer starts is a testament to Angelina's talent. We can't help but enjoy her one of a kind voice. As always, wonderful reaction. For me....Green lights. I try and not put myself in situations where there would be long lines. Doesn't always work though.

She brings it every time! Most folks are surprised when they first hear this. We don't expect this in-your- face energy. Good reaction! She does know what songs work for her but the range and variation of those are almost beyond compare. More surprises are in store.
Jazz and soul runs in Angelina's blood and this proves it. This kind of musicality, rhythm, timing can not be taught! Anyway, she can sing anything you put in front of her. The only thing I haven't listened from her is opera and rap. The rest, piece of cake for her :) And her humility is so genuine! She doesn't need any frills or gimmicks, just her voice and her passion for music.
This is one of my favorite performances from Angelina because it demonstrates every aspect and nuance of her incredible vocal abilities. Her vocal range is unequaled for someone as young as she is. Her professionalism and maturity level is far advanced and beyond her chronological age. There a great many exceptionally talent young singers, but none of them have Angelina’s unique vocal versatility. As you know, Angelina has demonstrated that she can sing any genre. She is, without question, the best young blues and jazz singer in existence. She has a high intellect and a highly evolved intuition. Her hyper sensitive understanding of how much emotion and feel to put into a performance is remarkable. Her diction and voice inflections are that of highly trained seasoned veterans much older and experienced than she is. IMO, Angelina Jordan is the most complete musical artist and human being of any other young artist out there. To say that she is a special individual is a gross understatement.

The only thing missing from this performance is for Angelina to drop to her knees and then a guy comes from backstage and drapes a cape over her shoulders (you're too young to get this James Brown reference). I just find it most interesting when other reactors to AJ make the statement that she knows how to pick a song that suits her voice. At that point you understand they have not explored her other performances, if they had, they would know she has no boundaries. AJ takes any song, no matter what the genre and make it her own.

Angelina’s beautiful innocence, intuition, advanced intellect, her sensitivities, the purity of her soul, her creativity, her uncanny maturity, her all consuming passion for singing, her professionalism and her love of performing is what separates her from all others. There are a great many technically proficient and very talented singers, but I have yet to see any that are on Angelina’s level. Hard to believe that Angelina belting out this unique, soulful, bluesy version of James Brown is the same Angelina that mesmerizes us into our personal reveries when she covers Adele’s A Million Years Ago or (my favorite) Someone Like You. For a side of Angelina you never have heard or imagined, try her cover of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind. I think it’s Angelina having fun with 60’s soul, but the result is a one-off, jaw-dropping performance that makes you wonder if there’s any style Angelina can’t demolish. A second recommendation: I’ll really go out on a limb and say it might be my favorite Angelina performance. At ten years old, she recorded I’m Still Holding Out For You. It was never released officially because her family believed the lyrics were too dark, but it’s out there to watch. Many Angelina fans believe it’s one of her best. It’s inconceivable that a ten year old could give us such a vocally and emotionally mature performance, but there it is. The theme of the song is melancholy, and Angelina handles that better than anyone I know-even at ten years old. It’s stunning.

Alma Deutscher (born 10 Feb 2005}, a young English Composer, violinist and pianist is one for whom I have great admiration. However, as talented and versatile as she is, she cannot, in my opinion, match Angelina. Angelina at the age of seven was able to recognise and instinctively convey the emotions of a song without apparent effort, and she has continued to do so without error for the last six years. As others have remarked, Republic Records should give Angelina carte blanc to choose and arrange the songs she wishes to perform. If they fail to do this, I can see them being "brought to heel" very quickly by Angelina's steel determination to be the person she is and have no one deter her from her ambition to heal the world through song.

Okay! I've got it figured out. Schnell, I see you sometime down the road hosting a tv talk show! Really! You've got what it takes. You're lovable and loaded with opinions. And, you sing! I have watched this song many times now because it is so beautiful and masterfully done by Angelina and (let's not forget) the orchestra from the Norwegian army. Her age at this point is immaterial. She is truly extraordinary. This is most definitely one of my favorite performances. I love the respect the orchestra and the conductor give her. The first time I saw it the orchestra started and I thought oh my! .. they sure are loud! .. and in comes Angelina and her voice topped all the instruments and took over that stage. Great reaction (as usual)! Even though we know Angelina can simply do things (vocally and emotionally) most others can't, when she ambushes us we are still shocked (in a good way). In your new clothing line you should offer some sort of little strap that keeps one's jaw from flopping open (say for example when hearing AJ's finale)!

This is one of my greater favorits from Angelina, and as soon as her B&W video of "I Put A Spell On You" popped up, I made a wish (to my self) that she would take on this song as well.
And boy what a jump my heart did as she two years later came up with THIS. AND she even put it on her first CD, called "It`s Magic" (of course).
BTW; - as you pointed out her amazing voice controll - I would like very much if you take a listen, and react to her performance from the semi final of the Norwegian Talents show. She sang "Bang Bang, my baby shot me down". I am stunned everytime I listen to that one, how she, at 8 YO, manage to hold back, - or even almost hold in and whisper surten words, to express the right feeling and emotions.

If you look at the female clarinet player to the left when Angelina she starts singing, you can see her smile. These are seasoned professional players which have probably played with countless professional singers, and for her to smile when this young singer starts is a testament to Angelina's talent. We can't help but enjoy her one of a kind voice. As always, wonderful reaction.
For me....Green lights. I try and not put myself in situations where there would be long lines. Doesn't always work though.

She brings it every time! Most folks are surprised when they first hear this. We don't expect this in-your- face energy. Good reaction! She does know what songs work for her but the range and variation of those are almost beyond compare. More surprises are in store.

Jazz and soul runs in Angelina's blood and this proves it. This kind of musicality, rhythm, timing can not be taught! Anyway, she can sing anything you put in front of her. The only thing I haven't listened from her is opera and rap. The rest, piece of cake for her :)
And her humility is so genuine! She doesn't need any frills or gimmicks, just her voice and her passion for music.

This is one of my favorite performances from Angelina because it demonstrates every aspect and nuance of her incredible vocal abilities. Her vocal range is unequaled for someone as young as she is. Her professionalism and maturity level is far advanced and beyond her chronological age. There a great many exceptionally talent young singers, but none of them have Angelina’s unique vocal versatility. As you know, Angelina has demonstrated that she can sing any genre. She is, without question, the best young blues and jazz singer in existence. She has a high intellect and a highly evolved intuition. Her hyper sensitive understanding of how much emotion and feel to put into a performance is remarkable. Her diction and voice inflections are that of highly trained seasoned veterans much older and experienced than she is. IMO, Angelina Jordan is the most complete musical artist and human being of any other young artist out there. To say that she is a special individual is a gross understatement.

Thanks for yet another spectacular Angelina reaction, Schnell! You're getting really good at these. LOL! The only thing missing from this performance is for Angelina to drop to her knees and then a guy comes from backstage and drapes a cape over her shoulders (you're too young to get this James Brown reference). Seriously, look at how effortless it was for her to go up to the high E several times and then sustain it with the triplet punctuations. At age 12.....12! When I was 12, I was trying to glue model airplanes together. Keep the Angelina reactions coming. Her fans can't get enough of them (and you)!

If you view the last few seconds of this video, you'll see how far away Boris was, so he deserves kudos for managing to capture this as well as he did. 👍
I just find it most interesting when other reactors to AJ make the statement that she knows how to pick a song that suits her voice. At that point you understand they have not explored her other performances, if they had, they would know she has no boundaries. AJ takes any song, no matter what the genre and make it her own.

Angelina’s beautiful innocence, intuition, advanced intellect, her sensitivities, the purity of her soul, her creativity, her uncanny maturity, her all consuming passion for singing, her professionalism and her love of performing is what separates her from all others. There are a great many technically proficient and very talented singers, but I have yet to see any that are on Angelina’s level. She is the most uniquely gifted, versatile and all around musically talented individual I have ever experienced.
Angelina’s voice draws us to her like moths to a flame. She commands her audience’s complete attention when she sings. When she sings she gives the impression that she is singing to us individually. We feel her beautiful soul communicating directly and deeply with our souls. Her sincere honesty and integrity touches me in ways that I don’t experience with others. She is a special human being and I thank God I lived to experience her divine gifts.
Your reviews are great. Hard to believe that Angelina belting out this unique, soulful, bluesy version of James Brown is the same Angelina that mesmerizes us into our personal reveries when she covers Adele’s A Million Years Ago or (my favorite) Someone Like You. You are still discovering Angelina’s range and ability. Let me give you two recommendations for a future review.
For a side of Angelina you never have heard or imagined, try her cover of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind. I think it’s Angelina having fun with 60’s soul, but the result is a one-off, jaw-dropping performance that makes you wonder if there’s any style Angelina can’t demolish.
A second recommendation: I’ll really go out on a limb and say it might be my favorite Angelina performance. At ten years old, she recorded I’m Still Holding Out For You. It was never released officially because her family believed the lyrics were too dark, but it’s out there to watch. Many Angelina fans believe it’s one of her best. It’s inconceivable that a ten year old could give us such a vocally and emotionally mature performance, but there it is. The theme of the song is melancholy, and Angelina handles that better than anyone I know-even at ten years old. It’s stunning.
hate standing in line . saw a video of angelina at 5-6 twirling a cd around in her hands as she was being interviwed. it was a james brown cd. she had a 9 song concert at 9yrs old and closing song b4 encore was " i feel good " angelina credits her love of billie holiday and the fact she found her at such an early age ( 2 yrs ) for her music career...

So I was standing in line, out in the cold. In front of the polling place, waiting to vote. There must have been at least 50 people in front of me and and some crazy old guy blatantly campaigning, even though it was against the rules. So I just put my noise canceling headphones on, pulled out my phone and hit play on my Angelina Jordan favorites. It kept my ears warm and my blood pressure down!

Alma Deutscher (born 10 Feb 2005}, a young English Composer, violinist and pianist is one for whom I have great admiration. However, as talented and versatile as she is, she cannot, in my opinion, match Angelina. Angelina at the age of seven was able to recognise and instinctively convey the emotions of a song without apparent effort, and she has continued to do so without error for the last six years. As others have remarked, Republic Records should give Angelina carte blanc to choose and arrange the songs she wishes to perform. If they fail to do this, I can see them being "brought to heel" very quickly by Angelina's steel determination to be the person she is and have no one deter her from her ambition to heal the world through song.

After a performance like this, most singers will be looking for a chair to sit down and catch their breaths. Angelina just stands there, curtsies and smiles like it’s no big deal, another day another gem.

This is probably one of the songs in which Angelina expresses herself best, at only 12 years old and effortless, if you look carefully you will see that even the musicians and the conductor, with whom he has often worked, are amazed by some of her fantastic high notes, James Brown can be proud of this interpretation. She playing on the changes of tone, varying along the musical scale as she likes and detonating the natural vocal power that she possesses, in a wonderful and continuous music flow that just makes you think ... please continue over and over, it's a girl's world 😁 😁

Thanks for another lovely reaction! Sometimes when I watch this I just start to laugh, because its so incredibly good. You say that she is clever by picking songs that suits her, yes I agree. But when I look at her incredibly diverse catalogue im thinking there is more to this. She understands the different songs and genres so well, she makes the songs suit her, if you know what I mean. I think she can sing anything, and make it sound like its her own songs. If she sang the phonebook I would re-install my landline :D

Oh, the video. Schnell, Angelina was fabulous. Please understand that most of us have seen this video well over 100 times but we still get excited watching it. And, part of the fun is watching reactors like you marvel at Angelina's performance. There was a time when some listeners said, sure, she has a beautiful, soulful voice. But, can she belt out a song. I have watched this song many times now because it is so beautiful and masterfully done by Angelina and (let's not forget) the orchestra from the Norwegian army. What is the most funny to me: everybody is overwhelmed and Angelina is just having a good time on stage and 'playing' with the music she is loving so much.
Schnell, Great reaction. Great intuition about AJ. I think she will rarely do fluff pop songs. She is a serious artist on an agenda to touch hearts and move listeners' "needles". Her age at this point is immaterial. She is breaking a lot of rules already, even with her sweet demeanor and humble ways, she totally transforms iconic classics, writes heart wrenching and deep lyrical masterpieces of her own, and can pretty much own any song on the planet that she goes after. It won't be long before everyone knows "Million Miles". When she delivers the lyric "You ain't seen nothing like me yet" in "Make You Feel My Love" I realized that in a nutshell is Angelina!

Then I heard this cover by Angelina, and it blew me away. I love Lana's version, but for me this is better---much better! It's really very difficult to comprehend that the same singer that we just heard on "It's a Man's World" is performing this Incredible cover of "Born to Die". She is truly extraordinary. This is most definitely one of my favorite performances. I love the respect the orchestra and the conductor give her. The first time I saw it the orchestra started and I thought oh my! .. they sure are loud! .. and in comes Angelina and her voice topped all the instruments and took over that stage. Great reaction (as usual)! Even though we know Angelina can simply do things (vocally and emotionally) most others can't, when she ambushes us we are still shocked (in a good way). In your new clothing line you should offer some sort of little strap that keeps one's jaw from flopping open (say for example when hearing AJ's finale)!
