Angelina was 12 here and that was a difficult year, losing her grandpa, her friend Avicii and one of her idols Aretha Franklin and she did a tribute to each. But I don't believe the tremendous emotion in her voice came from her present life experience but rather she was born with it. I need to be a poet to have any chance to properly describe how special Angelina is. We are lucky to be alive at the same time as Angelina Jordan.

I've listened to this one more times than I could count and it still blows me a away that it's a 12 year old singing this. She is able to convey so much emotion when she sings that it just pulls you in and holds you there for a couple minutes. If your favorite setup is a guitar and singer, then Angelina has many that you are going to love. When you look at the videos on her cover channel, look for any video you see with this guitarist (Ivan) or the other guitarist (Egil) in the thumbnail. All of those are going to be good. I especially recommend "stay", "the first time ever I saw your face", "make you feel my love" (just to name a few).
Hello Rusty. I've listened to this song up and down a number of times and every time I start crying. I've already written that she should do a mini concert with a maximum of 150 people in a small hall, with a guitarist and a piano. Especially these small concerts, of which I have already participated in quite a few, including the "big ones", are the best there are. There is always a great atmosphere. A great review of this, one of my favourite Angelina performances. The guitarist is Ivan Mendez who Angelina performs with when she is in L.A.. I think Ivan toured with Angelina in South America too. Some of Angelina's best performances are with Ivan and her Norwegian guitarist Egil Clausen. Angelina really shines when performing with a simple backing, guitar or piano. Ivan has his own YT channel and can sing very well himself.
The emotion angelina puts into this left me speechless. I am just in awe of her ability to portray such conviction in every word she sings. You can't help but feel the emotion of the song with her. I hope she has as much success as she can possibly get.

I don’t know what it is about her voice. Just about any song she sings makes me cry a good cry. Not many things in life does this to me . My heart is somehow in line with the tone of her voice. The sound of her voice is so soothing and hypnotic that my mind goes to places in my past. The songs that Angelina sings during these guitar sessions with Ivan Mendez (when she is in LA) and Egil Clausen (when she is in Norway) are not planned in advance- they get together and decide what song to sing, sometimes without Ivan or Egil even familiar with the song! And it is usually done in one take (interviews with Ivan and Egil)!
Another excellent reaction. This young girl has more talent in her little finger than I do in my entire body. I’ve been playing music at a hobbiest level for most of my life, and I wish I could perform even one song as well as this.
The acoustic guitar is also my favorite instrument (the guitar player is Ivan Mendes), and this is my favorite setting for Angelina's performances; just Angelina and the guitar. When Angelina turned 12, she received this Neumann microphone for her birthday (very expensive). It picks up everything, and the sound that resonates from her voice is beyond belief. A few months later she recorded three songs with Ivan on this mike. This is one of them. I've probably heard it 200 times, and I can't get through it without tearing up. When she sings "I miss my mother" I just melt. Adele is a great singer and song writer, and most people just don't measure up when trying to cover her songs. Angelina has covered several, and I like them all better than the original. I highly recommend the other two songs that she recorded with Ivan and this mike at about this same time: "Stay" ua-cam.com/video/_GSVPvCy3Yg/v-deo.html What she has done with this Rhianna song is difficult to believe. I mean, this is just too good to describe. Much better that the original (IMO). Yeah that one brings me tears every time. It's certainly not technically perfect but it's as emotionally powerful as can be.

Always on My Mind will hit the tear glands. Summertime (on NGT at 8) is Dinah Washington good. Her tribute to Aretha in Natural Woman is subtle and sweet. Her arrangement of California Dreamin is more poignant and full of regret than the original....and on and on. Keep them coming.
My favorite instruments are baritone sax, mandolin, banjo and fiddle/violin. I mostly go to bluegrass shows (when the world was saner), but Angelina is above all my other likes. Her voice is my favorite instrument of all

A great review of this, one of my favourite Angelina performances. The guitarist is Ivan Mendez who Angelina performs with when she is in L.A.. I think Ivan toured with Angelina in South America too. Some of Angelina's best performances are with Ivan and her Norwegian guitarist Egil Clausen. Angelina really shines when performing with a simple backing, guitar or piano. Ivan has his own YT channel and can sing very well himself.
I love Adele's rendition and now I love AJ's just as much.

I don’t know what it is about her voice. Just about any song she sings makes me cry a good cry. Not many things in life does this to me . My heart is somehow in line with the tone of her voice. The sound of her voice is so soothing and hypnotic that my mind goes to places in my past. Some memories are sorrowful and painful and just by listening to her angelic voice some how makes everything better and replaces them with joy and happiness. The songs that Angelina sings during these guitar sessions with Ivan Mendez (when she is in LA) and Egil Clausen (when she is in Norway) are not planned in advance- they get together and decide what song to sing, sometimes without Ivan or Egil even familiar with the song! And it is usually done in one take (interviews with Ivan and Egil)!

The acoustic guitar is also my favorite instrument (the guitar player is Ivan Mendes), and this is my favorite setting for Angelina's performances; just Angelina and the guitar. When Angelina turned 12, she received this Neumann microphone for her birthday (very expensive). It picks up everything, and the sound that resonates from her voice is beyond belief. A few months later she recorded three songs with Ivan on this mike. This is one of them. I've probably heard it 200 times, and I can't get through it without tearing up. When she sings "I miss my mother" I just melt. Adele is a great singer and song writer, and most people just don't measure up when trying to cover her songs. Angelina has covered several, and I like them all better than the original. I highly recommend the other two songs that she recorded with Ivan and this mike at about this same time:

But if forced to pick a favorite, this is mine. What she has done with this classic pop song is mindboggling. I never tire of hearing it. And again, you can see just how good this mike is at capturing her tone and the subtleties of her voice. Magnificent!
