Yes, so at my job, there are those who go to church on sunday and sometimes in our field(construction) there can be a 7 day work week... So 1st they do not make me work on sabbath but on good faith I offered to work or be at call on sundays when they have scheduled work to cover for them.
As a PM I do all i can to manage my jobs during the week and never ask contractors to work on saturdays..but it is there choice if they do and fellow employees tend to that day for me.. It has really worked out so far.
The key is to make sure my clients are comfortable with reports and job progress each friday so they are fully informed for investors and they and the contractors can enjoy their weekends at least on my projects.. I am the top PM at our company at this time..
    Yah is praised

Excellent teaching 119! 👏 Great insight and revelation of the Word. Daniel is a great example for how we should live in a "foreign land " as well as we wait for the King to arrive.

Agreed. I never work on Shabbat and I've always been willing to work on Sunday. Many businesses in my profession won't even give you an interview if you don't work on Saturday. During the interview, I always offer to work on Sunday, if they are open. Usually, this is sufficient, but I've gone as long as 18 months without a job in my field of expertise while having to work for minimum wage at a restaurant because they won't hire anyone who doesn't work Saturdays.

Daniel didn't eat the food and drink the wine because it was offered up to Idols .

Torah teaches you that you are not allowed to eat all meats. Like example pig. When you read Leviticus chapter 11. It will teach you want you are allowed and not allowed to eat.
Always test what is being taught to you....

The king of Babylon did not only eat Pork. Beef was actually considered a higher quality meat in many Ancient Near Eastern cultures. It would make sense for there to be at least some meat that is kosher at the king’s table, however even that they could not eat because of the pagan component.

Thank you! This is great as always. 👊👍🏻👏 The focus and historical literature you provided gave great insight as to why Daniel didn't eat the FOOD but didn't really answer why he decided not to drink the wine. There's no where (in what was provided) that states the wine was given to the king after the sacrifice to idols. My first thought (when you went through what was considered defilement for both food & wine) was he didn't want to eat meat sacrificed to idols but that he didn't want to be defiled by wine because he had taken the Nazarite vow.....plausible?! 😊 I think so. Makes sense. Just a thought.

They did not eat the kings food because it was unhealthy, probably rich I sugar and other bad ingredients. Daniel was inspected after a certain time and found to healthier than the others pledged to the king. YHWH wants us to be healthy, and obviously bestows blessing on those who care for their temple/body.

Question: If we are to consume the body of the Messiah (bread) and His blood (wine), wouldn't it be idolatrous to consume ANYTHING else? In other words, isn't it idolatry to add to or take away from His Holy WORD?

Genesis 1:1 is not a summary statement for the rest of creation.

  • @LightSeekers777

I do understand your point, but I think you have to add a lot of context then, just to interpret what's written. Wouldn't it be easier to say, YHWH has told us what is acceptable food (clean and unclean) and anything else is idolatry? After all, you are lifting up "the king's food" higher than YHWH'S word if you consume it and it's pig or shellfish. Or, if you just like it and don't want to give it up, YOU are the idol being lifted above God. 1 Samuel 15:24 .... In my opinion, food doesn't have to go through a ritual to be sacrificed to idols, this was still an issue in Paul's day when they set the rules for Gentiles.

Those are different types of idolatry. Here you described three different types of idolatry. Idolatry of self, technical idolatry, and what is not idolatry. The Greeks sacrificing meat and selling it at the market is not idolatry, since there the priests basically functioned as butchers. It is kosher to eat Halal food even though it was prayed over by an Imam. However the Babylonian food was directly part of a ritual, which Paul also said we cannot partake of (1 Cor. 10:18-22), as that would be like trying to eat with both God and the demons.

Idolatry in Torah is described as worshiping and serving other gods other than YHWH. YHWH said:
Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Isa 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am YHWH, and there is none else.
Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
119 ministries is dedicated to teaching others how to worship and serve a man born of a virgin, and known by another name and by another feat or miricle. The new testament claims jesus christ who was with God in the beginning died on a cross as a sin sacrifice and was raised on the third day to sit at the right hand of God in heaven. It teaches that all men must believe in this new name of God in order to be saved or to draw near to God. Christins and messianics offer up bread/ matzah as the body of christ and wine as the blood of christ in communion or the Passover seder. These are offered up to another name for another accomplishment. Niether of which are part of Pesach.
Christians and messianics define themselves out of the definition of idolatry because they do not worship wood and stone. But they continue to worship a created being who was born, who bled and died like all men do.

Both Christians and Messianists believe that Yeshua/Jesus was a man like us all, yet more than a man, Elohim in bodily form. We also believe that because He was Elohim, He was sinless (not having broken the Father Elohim's laws) and was the only man who was capable of being the Lamb of Elihom to cover the sins of all nations peoples, regardless of religious heritage. A difference between christians and messianists is their approach to discernment of scriptures.

Guys, there's a philosophy called Perennial. It's what I've been Googling the last weeks. All Religions, historically, merge. Anyone Religious can read a non-Religion philosophy about Human Religions, right?
    Perennial philosophy. Read. Help.
