I was wondering which type of sand you were using for the cutting and now I know. Thank you!
Came to say thank u so much for ur video. Started my prop box 2 weeks ago, with 3 different plant cuttings and they have all sprouted roots and/or new leaves.

My husband asked what I was watching.. I said what sand do I need for cuttings.. he said what? I don’t know from the playground I guess.. he wasn’t all wrong 😂 thanks for the great gardening advice.. love your videos ♥️
I’m rooting plants in playground sand and used aloe Vera. Your video confirmed I’m doing it right!
Thank you for the video. I recognized your voice from your videos you've been posting recently. I had no idea it was one of your videos since this one it's from 5 years ago.
I'm trying to get my garden going and I'm having a hard time getting everything I need; mixing the right soil, shade etc. I need to learn how to prepare the soil for vegetables, strawberries and roses.

My 50 pound play sand today was $3.34.at Home Depot. The classic bed would be a Nearing Frame for hardwood cuttings.
Thank You !!! :)
Thank-You so much for your info. I was wondering if this was for hard woods only?
I know this is an old video but I would like to ask a question? Can you use the sand to winter sow your seeds for flowers and vegetables?
Yes
Thank you
Thanks
I don't know why but I don't like throwing the containers coming in pasties or tv dinner trays in recycling bin because I know there's uses for them.
Tyfs😁❤
Hmmm, and if my back garden is just...well, "sand"? Can I rake up, clean to rinse off the leaf bits, and use?
Ok. I have several bags of the 60lb graded course sand from lowes. Tubesand I used for weight in the bed of my truck. Wanted to know if it's OK to use for propagation because I have lots. I heard it has to be rinsed and not sure whether this sand I mentioned csn be used
Messaged the company and they said it's been rinsed. No issues.
Hi there do we have to drill a hole if propagating hydrangea in a container with sand. Covered in a storage container
You have a question how often and how well do you have to water the sand so you don't wind up with root rot
Hi when starting seeds in sand in trays do you wait until all the water is gone or do you just keep a small amount in the bottom of your tray
No need / no value in any organic component amendment - peat, compost?
Could this be used for growing microgreens?
Are you using coarse sand?.
What are your thoughts on seedlings 🌱 in sand?
Cool beans!
2:50 Lol, Dan, why ya got a crab leg in your sand?
Haha does look like it. It's actually a Christmas Cactus cutting.
Cats would have a field day in there. Would need to completely enclose in my area.
I've got a solution for you. Just do a search on this channel for "stop all thieves".
I thought you were drinking red wine at 3:15...
Does anyone know on average how long sand rooting propagation like this may take . I do understand that different plants may take different time to root so just an average time is fine based on your experience .
I’m planning on doing a lot
I have not tried this method and always use water with success but I've this idea. I have heat Matting, lights and a small greenhouse I got at lowes. Can't wait. Just need to get humidity up a bit when I do. Mite just cover with a clear plastic to create green house affect if I need more.
Following..
Can I use sand to germinate seeds?
Can I use paver sand?
Silica from a foundry would that work
How would u use the play sand in a potting mix?
Many use 10% sand in a mix of peat moss and/or coconut coir.
Can you keep re-using the sand over and over?
Yes
Yes. In the video he mentioned you can for sure.
I hope you can help me. I have a sand that is fine sand. At the moment, I can't get out to Lowe's. Can I use fine sand for a few weeks, and then repot them at that time in course sand?
Yes, that will work. Cheers!
