Its funny going from watching top players who are often capped by turn time while playing pirates or mechs or any golden brann comp and then hearing the new player perspective that turn timers feel so long
I’ve always said they should add a ready button. Especially early rounds. There’s no reason to sit there for a minute when everyone is just upgrading tavern anyway
It was tested internally and the team decided not to go for it. There will always be the one person trolling the lobby by not hitting the ready button.
@@ezreal2930 I also agree with that opinion but I can imagine how normal players would feel when they hit the ready button and have to wait out the full time bc someone is playing apm or doing something in the meantime.
because he didnt level you mean? If thats the case, I think he did ok considering with quilboars you want 5 starts more than 6. Bongo bopper + double end of turn, while 6 is only charlga
Why hold the tavern buff spell, especially given you history of buying minions before playing the spell the next round, smacking yourself for forgetting and then not playing it again?
I like how he takes the time to read every card name instead of just looking for the brown/orange portraits XD (Nearer the end, I mean, when he's exclusively looking for all of two, known minions. -- Of course reading the cards is a good idea when you don't know the pool / open to more things)
35:30 Your opponents definitely bought some quillboars from the store so the pool is smaller and that's why you can't find the 3rd copy at all. Unless you were just THAT unlucky.
Battlegrounds made me fall in love with the game again when standard got boring/wacky. Completely different skill set that fits those old school card game fundamentals like value.
I feel the same, it deserves as much as MtG at least, petered out is bound to happen, but there's nothing wrong with checking in every now and then to see whats up, if the schedule allows.
Such a different experience, even with the yelling at the screen a couple of times about the plays. Sad to go the whole game without the key high tier triples required to take first place, or the scam tech to cheese a win.
This triggers me because every time I try Battlegrounds I seem to just get random whatever and can never assemble a decent comp before turn 10 or so when the opponent is 200/200 everywhere and it feels like I'm barely getting going. Streamer loot! STREAMER LOOT I SAY!
being able to recognise where and when to pivot builds makes a huge difference, only settling for ok stats will only get you so far and you'll likely end up dying around turn 10 otherwise.
@@veritusahriman9720 I try to go for tribal synergies but never see relevant minions, if I all-in on that I lose, if I try to transition I lose. I feel like Day9 is lucky for enjoying his time and not ending up in a rut like this. So if I wanna win, what is the actual approach, because the sample data is telling me 'I dunno lol' I can't for the life of me understand why people like Battlegrounds. It feels like a mode rigged for you to lose. At least in Standard I have a LITTLE bit of agency in how much I suck.
@@KnownAsKenji could be that you upgrade your tavern level too slowly, which gives all the other players opportunities to yoink all of the must-have cards like Brann/Kalec, slitherspear/drakaari/greta, choral/bream, beatboxer etc...
you are rushing so much ejsus christ xD relax the mouse, it aint rocket sience, and you didnt put minions on the board who could have been buffed before getting a gold aswell.
Sorry did you just intuitively understand every aspect of what you should be doing in the game within just a round or two of playing BG’s? Cause I highly doubt it.

An even larger boar?
6:24 is a peak hearthstone moment
In standard there is more activity in the map than in the game itself
14:27 I am extraordinarily distraught that he hasn't sold the coin naga yet
oh thank god he did it
Seeing him skip over Blade Collector and Corrupted Myrmidon has taken years from my life.
STOP having fun, you're making me want to play this goofy mode!
Hydrated man feeds blood gems to his boars and kills other players.
god, that triple @14:01 hurt my soul for real
not the first time hes done this shit

No, he could have bought the two level 2 in the tavern for another triple

Haven't seen you in years Day9, its nice to see your videos again
Quillboars is so much fun. Once got a Bongo Bopper up on 2500+ in attack. And got deleted when attacked a regular Wayward Grimscale... D:
Classic battleground LOL
It was way funnier with meta 6 months ago
Watching THIRTEEN digits stat minion get killed by venom/poison XD
I really hope you continue to play this after bliz week.
Love Day9 content. Always good.

BG is by far the best HS mode imo
It is so interesting to see what someone with ZERO meta preconceptions or known strategies does with things like leveling curves.
Take a break from the PC once in a while mate. It'll do you a lot of good.
When I started playing I just latched on to the easiest pattern I could find. Which was same tribes had synergies.
Low battlegrounds ranking from never playing so his “ranking” is low but his ability is high, so Sean gonna Plott all over em

you mean you can't memorize several paragraphs of confusing mechanics on the in under two minutes?
16:02 no there was the guy the three drop that does everything
Love watching you play it!!
I'm not afraid anymore!!! Two seconds later.
Holy shit im fucked 😂😂😂
"8 blood gems a turn is pretty good"... dude you're getting 24 xD
@40:17, you want to WHAT Kripp?
The delay between matches takes forever... I'm assuming people can lock in and it goes faster, but that's brutal.
I hope you stick around with Hearthstone here and there! You are the best!

Someone get him to watch a crazy Dogg video lmao
Thats what happened last time I played quilboar is my attacks were massive but my health was lacking a bit
Love the BGs content!
That's a lot of bacon
all that attack doesnt matter needed more hp
I do like 3 on 3
A quillerboar

Battlegrounds is a perfect card game it is fair and does not have a real pay wall . It is the only reason I play hearthstone

Battlegrounds is worth playing, but the card game itself has just become too far gone and ridiculous. Thanks for the vid!
gg
I am so confused. Where are the turn 6 80/80s? This lobby was nothing like the ones i am constantly in.
