i love gt but to me enthusia was the best racing game in the 6th gen (which might be the best generation for racing games)
This whole game just went completely past me without ever noticing it.

This game just gave some unique touches like interesting selection of cars, car raffle, car rpg elements, also the rally section in this game was plenty for the variant than Gran Turismo 4

I got this game for my 10th birthday back in 2006, and I forgot about it until I recently came across a photo of me with it. I didn't play all that much because I had gotten Need For Speed Carbon the very same birthday, and Gran Turismo 4 the previous year and was still obsessed with that. I should see if I still have it around. I vaguely remember it, and I liked it, but there was just a lot of games I was playing at the time, including Test Drive Unlimited
The physic's of this game is far better than GT4 but the timing of this game release is just a little too late
1:06 you forgot Pro Evolution Soccer. It was the go to game for football enthusiast back then.
In the Balkans it still is to this day haha
@@DoVe_7 People still play the new games? The series has gone downhill in the last 15 years. Fifa completely demolished them with their next gen series on x360/ps36 with FIFA 07 and with the introduction of FUT which basically killed football games as we know.

very cool to see this game get more attention over the years since this game was a big part of my childhood, always loved the germany based fantasy tracks in this game
most of my time i spent in the free race mode since this game actually allows you to fully customise the grid to have any opponents against any car, and 12 year old me found putting nissan r390 on the grid with fiat 500s extremely entertaining especially on the indianapolis clone track to play bumper cars with them :D

I have this sitting on my shelf for about 4 yrs now, I've never played.
Whatchu talking bout? I probably sank 500 hours into Enthusia and loved every second of it
In my opinion, this is the best racing game. The most important game mechanic is, when you take shortcuts, bump into other cars or leave the track, you get always a penalty. And if you bar is empty you have to rest. Best racing game ever. If Konami would Remaster the game, i would immediately buy it.
Enthusia is probably one of my favourite concepts for a racing game, the RNG aspect can be super frustrating but makes replaying it so satisfying.
It's one of the must-haves for me if you're going to be emulating PS2 on PC and are into Racing Games.
I'm definitely trying it out. Gonna buy the game soon for my PS2.
@@am_pm.17 Good luck with that as they're pretty rare. There's little-to-none marketing in this game before the release.
This and GT4 are baked into my PCSX2 :) And there are high resultion texture mods for this one too, see the videos from DustinEden :) Entuhsia is quirky, I just wish they had more realistic tracks instead of all these fantasy layouts that aged poorly compared to other games original tracks.
If this game came on PC, it would have been atleast a bit more successful (aside from getting pirated on PC 🤣). Even a PSP version of Enthusia would have been alright, look at GTPSP that's got a similar style of progression to Enthusia.
My favourite part of Enthusia is that it nails the way every type of gearbox works, some cars with a CVT (Nissan Wingroad) can be driven with a faux manual mode as well.
I wish i had seen this game when I was a kid.

Enthusia is a nice game, but i thought Racing Jam/Racing Jam Chapter 2 is the most underrated Konami Racing Game
Some is this game soundtrack give me some serious FF12 vibes.
Have I played Thrill drive no (or the 2003 Blur like game Kacey covered I forget the name of). Have I played Enthusia when it works somewhat yes and I enjoy it a lot.
As much as I have other Japanese publishers other racing games and other arcade ones I missed out on besides Sim racers of the 2000s.
Even Shox was a good EA big rally arcade racer no one talks about and Milestone did their part of RPG racers like Evolution Get, Alfa Romeo Racing Italiano, their licenses like Superstars V8 for two entries, SBK bike games before MotoGP themselves and Gravel as a rally arcade racer again that no one talks about.
I find Milestone a company that's very interesting at what they did in the racing genre while everyone else looked to NFS/GT/Forza/Grid and so on. Milestone did their own thing instead and sometimes still do. I mean Ride isn't much but hey a bike Forza/GT game yes please. Eden Games makes Gear Club Unlimited 2 now and no one talks about it much and I get its mobile to console return for the studio but still they did. Wreckfest is great and well yeah.

The nubbrigring is what l love about this game, the game has special soundtracks for specific courses. It has style and l adore it. This game is unique and is above and beyond any modern game
Always leave it to Dove to bring up some obscure racing games I don't know about. I didn't even know Konami did a racing game, I only know them for Castlevania mostly so seeing this is quite a surprise to me. It's a shame that such a game was overshadowed because this genuinely looks fun to play, maybe I might give it a go. Great video as always Dove, props to you and your editor. 🤗
I returned to this game a week ago. Still an all time favorite of mine since I believe that it's the best racing game ever for sprint races. The problem it had, that made it sell so poorly, is that it was marketed as a GT-clone, but it's a complete different species. Will never forgot one of the three "journalists" that reviewed the game for EGM Brasil... the guy gave Enthusia a 2/10 because "it is too much realist" for his "taste" lol
The game itself is way better than Gran Turismo 4 in terms of driving physics. Unfortunately, its main career mode isn't so addictive to me.

Good concept but some things are off-putting to me, the price car raffles and the missing ability to upgrade the cars you want. too much of a car pachinko game xd also only having one song per track gets pretty boring/annoying after some time. the rest is really amazing and I bet a 2nd game would have improved a lot

No but I like how it has a lot of unique features compared to gt4, both are really good
