I've really enjoyed doing little vignettes set in the wider Marvel universe, and wanted to do one more before getting into the story of the Badoons' master plan. Who better to skirt the fringes of a cosmic epic than Mary Poppi- I mean, Yondu Udonta? As for the VFX, I'm not entirely happy with them, but it was my first time trying quite a few techniques, and I'm glad of the practice.

The pacing was a little Fast towards the end, and I felt like this would have benighted from being a little more drawn out. However, the VFX and animation are truly great and the overall plot was interesting. Good job Jack, I can't wait for your next project!
Agreed. I kind of wrote it to be a tad short so that this wouldn't be too long to make, but it probably suffered a little for that. Glad you enjoyed it though :)
Some shaking sfx or something would've added to the escape sequence, but overall really well done!

Thanks! And probably, but I don't know that I would have wanted to. The Badoons' story will continue in a miniseries, and Yondu will likely turn up again in that, though.

Ok, so this video has been out for a while now, but I keep watching over and over. I'm a huge Guardians fan, especially the whole ravager thing, and your animation portrays the characteristics of the ravagers which i like so much. The main group, the 'wimpy' Peter Quill, and not to mention, how amazing your camera work is! Especially the shaky cam during the scene with Galactus. It was the cherry on top of the most amazing cake!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it so much! I love how unreliable and selfish Peter can be in the comics and the films, and wanted to try and set that up for future Guardians stuff; it's not often you get a comic book hero who's so unashamedly poor at what he does and how he does it. The shaky cam was all actually done digitally, to get the right 'look', but I'm glad it was so convincing!

Yeah, first time attempting to use frame blending. I haven't found a way of controlling the factor by which it actually blends frame together, which would've been really useful. Still, I'm going to try and improve for the next video. And I'm glad you liked it! Looking forward to seeing more animations from you too, mate!
that's the thing. I don't think there is a way to control how much blending AE uses. if you do find a way of controlling it, let me know :D

it was really good loved the vfx , only complaint is when the ship was going shaking, I think that could of been better but rest was good cant wait for inhumans

maybe not make it straight up and down the whole time it felt very constant it should have been all over the place and random instead of straight up and down it felt like it was done in post, but other than that scene I loved it amazing job
