I was married in 1970 and had my son in 1972. And,yes, today's conveniences would surely have been great through those years. I have been chuckling listening to you talking about the '70's like they were 100 years ago. Although in thinking about my years then it seems like it was 100 years!

When my kids ask if we had cars and tvs back in the “old days” lol we laugh. It does feel like just yesterday but really when I do the math I’m like dang!! I was born in the 80’s and it’s 2023. I remember thinking that would be the space age lol

Thank you so much for this video! I loved hearing about the book! I was born in ‘70 and I watched what my mom used to do to take care of the house. My dad was very controlling and did not allow her to have friends. My grandmother and I were her only friends. She came up with genius ideas to cook and clean and keep the house. She would be a major you tuber if we had it back then. She could take any cheap little item and make it look expensive. She cooked and baked and made holidays awesome. She put in a ceiling fan on her own. I remember us being on the floor together staining it. Taught me about how to recycle, and she grew vegetables. I don’t know how she did it with my dad and 4 kids. Thanks again, It was a blessing hearing about the book.

1970 baby I grew up in the best decade! Best cars best music 🎶 lol. My mother kept a very clean & organized home growing up. Her best tip was start in 1 room & finish! Don't go room to room all over the house. It's not as overwhelming to focus on 1 room at a time. She also did a load of laundry 🧺 every day and NEVER was behind with it. Beds were made first thing.. she was organized and she definitely had a routine. Yes we used linen napkins! Lol 😆 loved hearing you read portions of the book. Love your new decor the black 🖤 wall piece is GORGEOUS 🥰🥰🥰

I wasn’t as fortunate growing up with all of the niceties we have now, but times were so much more simpler and slower paced. I loved being a teen in the 70’s and wish at times we could go back to simpler times, but I’ll just enjoy my memories and the niceties that we have today. Thanks for being you! 😊

I loved listening to you read from the old book of tips. It reminded me of when I inherited all of my husband’s grandmother’s craft supplies. There was an old cross stitch pattern in her belongings that said, “A Loving Family: Doing things for each other not in the attitude of duty, but in the spirit of joy.” I think you try to keep adding a spirit of joy when cleaning your house, so that is probably what keeps me watching you videos. Keep up the great work!

I absolutely loved listening to you read those tips from the housewives of the 70’s!! Not only is it super helpful, but it’s fascinating how even 50 years later the same core concepts are being shared, just in ways that were more conducive to that particular era. I love nostalgia!! I was a young housewife and mother in the 70’s. I can remember coming home from a Tupperware party feeling so jealous because my neighbor had just gotten a dishwasher. I threw such a fit until my husband agreed to go to Sears with me to pick one out. I was however, one of the first in the neighborhood to have an Electrolux canister vacuum. It was the perfect thing to vacuum my red mini shag carpet. Yes I am old.

For your new table to block the register I would buy a long rectangle wicker basket, like 18-24 long and put like greenery or grasses in it and have the them be airy, flowey , that would not block the vent, just pull it out a bit, have it sit more to the right on the table, and on the bak right corner some thing tall to balance it all out.

    Me
and husband are retired, although he works part time. I don’t clean everyday. Some days I jus make our bed and sweep. I wash twice a week and fold them and put them away when I get ready. My husband says I “have it made” and I do. I’m thankful for him for taking care of me and all these years. The girls are on their own and married. My oldest works for a law firm and the two youngest are nurses. I am so Blessed.I thank the Lord every day for him. Stay Blessed y’all.

I love those candle sticks! Putting them in my Amazon cart now. I have been looking for decor to use on my buffet and was struggling with what to put there and I think these would be perfect! Btw I love hearing those tips from the past, I like how you switch things up and keep things interesting.

Try the velcro command strips for pictures but use one on every corner + in the middles so it will hold the weight. Some people think they can just use one or two and it will hold but I use all that's in the pack to hold the specific weight it shows

you should get tan colored curtins for your office with iron curtin rids . Hang them higher then the window trim approx 6in higher then the top of the window. you could also do the bamboo blinds in the Java color to get the darker wood color

Move the bookcase in between the windows. Then move your desk to face the printer stand but away from the wall enough to have your desk chair. The desk would line up about with the window. The pictures will be hung be hind your desk. Turning your desk will also help with any glare on your monitor. It will also allow room to place a chair in front of the desk.

There is not room between the windows and I love my desk how it is. I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to hang pics on that wall or just leave the bookcase.

The new decor looks great! Using a few books as risers could give some variation in height.

Hi Jessie! To see if you would like the pictures or like the layout of pictures in your office, get you some craft paper or poster board and cut out the sizes of the frames and use painters tape to attach to the walls. You could get a feel if you'd like it without damaging the walls. Oh, and I knew you were going to go there with the rubbers. 🤣 I spit out my drink.

I like the bookcase where it is as it looks nicer looking at that decor than it would be looking at a printer as you enter the house. Is there room between the windows to hang the pictures vertically (probably not more than 3 since they look fairly large)?

I’d put the printer on the bookshelf but yea it’s hard because it looks nice how it is. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” haha

So I’ve only gotten through the first half of your video and had to comment. Otherwise I won’t remember everything. Lol. First, I loved you sharing the tips from that old book. I think it’s crazy not much has changed. The things they mentioned are easily translated the same today. There are still plenty of people that do not have the luxury of a washer and dryer in their home. Every apartment I lived in I had to go to a laundry mat. Especially in college. Please continue to add those. 😀 then with your office area. Maybe try hanging the frames vertically between your windows. You may also consider raising your curtain rods to really elongate that wall and especially if the frames would be spaced higher than the current curtain rod height. I agree with your things on your console table. They are all about the same height. I think a taller skinny lamp would look better with a dark shade in place of the little one you have sitting on the stool. Also maybe incorporate some metal and something glass. Having a variety of the elements like in Feng Shui really balance a space. (Earth, fire, water, metal and wood) the plant would be earth, a candle or lamp is fire, and glass is water. Obviously you have wood and metal. Maybe something to compliment the drawer pulls? Ok, think I’ve contributed enough…got to finish the rest of the video. Don’t be surprised if I have a comment Part 2. Lol

I have been loving the tide and bleach cleaning method but…I have ruined so many clothes! Or should I say gained more cleaning clothes. I give you major props for cleaning with bleach…I don’t know how you do it so elegantly (for lack of another word lol). Love this video! 🤗
