Many of these artists have been rapping for 2 decades. Ozworld is the youngest in this group at 26 and started in 2018. Verbal since 1998, Awich since 2000, Jay Park since 2002, Paloalto since 2002. Dok2 since 2005. Aklo since 2008. Tak since 2005. Dok2, Paloalto, and Tak are South Korean. OzWorld, Awich, and Aklo are Japanese.
The verse from Tak really hit me because he's rapping in Japanese and Korean and English and flip flopping them around like no big deal while going 90 miles per hour. (LOL I typed this out right as you also used the mph simile!)
Awich is known as the "Queen of Japanese hip-hop". Awich's stage name is short for "Asian wish child" and is a tribute to her Japanese heritage. Awich raps in Japanese, Okinawan, and English, and is known for her seamless transitions between languages. Awich's musical career began in underground clubs in Okinawa, Japan, and she released her debut EP, Inner Research, in 2006. She moved to Atlanta that same year and released her debut album, Asian Wish Child, in 2007. In 2020, she signed with Universal Music Japan and released her major-label debut album, Queendom, in 2022. Awich was born Akiko Urasaki and grew up in Okinawa. She moved to Atlanta for college and married an American man who was murdered in a shooting. She has a daughter named Toyomi.
XGprincess did English Translation for the remix. Simon Jakops basically assembled The Avengers of OG Korean and Japanese Rappers. Verbal is the most senior member and has been in the groups M-Flo (since 1998) and Teriyaki Boyz (they did 2 tracks on Tokyo Drift). He is a 3rd generation Zainichi Korean and a notable representative of Zainichi Korean music in Japan.
IYKYK in 6 days! also some are guessing the remix on the album is not the same as this release because on socials they didn't put (from 2nd album AWE) like SAR and IYKYK, hoping its just a long ass 10 minute version with new verses lol
The MAIN disappointing part for me was not having Chancellor or Year of the Ox on this track seeing how they had credits on the original lyrics. But we'll allow it. As for "liking the original" better, idk i dont think they meant for this to be a better song, they just wanted to give shoutouts to asian hip hop artists I'm guessing... so we dont really need to compare.

So awesome top Asian rap artists coming together and paying respects to the "new breed" and hip hop!!!!!!!
5:19 Verbal is from the group that made tokyo drift theme song 😂
Verbal is from the Teriyaki Boyz (The one you don't like) so that's why the Tokyo Drift song was in there.
Find me in Tokyo, rappin' in a skirt
Are you catchin' my drift tho?
And m-flo.. The band from which XG took a sample for their next song
God I wish they'll do more of this in future projects.
