Thote is a Gurung's festival and celebrated twice a year mostly during the month of September and March. Gurung is also known as Tamu believe in that if there is good energy definitely there is bad evil/energy as well. Basically totey festival is celebrated to protest overall goodness of all human being, cattle’s. crops, forest as well as village, town, city, country and the world from bad evil or energy.
