I have a legitimate question. Please don’t come at me because I’m actually trying to clarify for my own understanding. Since SD is her state, what does being banned from the tribes mean? Is it that she’s not allowed to visit or enter their lands? Or something more like she’s not allowed to make any decisions in their regard?
Yes the Governor is no longer welcome in about 20% of land in the State.
A Governor's decision never applies on Reservation land. It is their sovereign country. They can ban anyone from entering their land.
Bc tribal land is a sovereign nation only subservient to the FEDERAL government.
When they ban such people from their land do they still get federal or state funding?? I don't know if anyone's ever been on a reservation?? I have, and I see a lot of unfairness I see a lot of money being concentrated around the top and the bottom half not having basic essentials!!
Hypothetically, a rancher or group of ranchers could own 50% of the state. And, just like any private property owner, those ranchers could issue a trespass warning against anyone they wanted, for any reason they wanted, including the Governor because they don't like what she said about their business.

It is amazing, when someone calls it the way it is, everybody gets insulted, rather than trying to fix the problem. Gov. Noem is absolutely right, Indian reservations have always been used for all types of smuggling. I am not saying that all the Native Americans of those tribes are involved. But, the fact is, it’s being done. I know the first hand, having spent 26 years in Law Enforcement for the INS and ICE. Also, close to 70% of all students who come to the United States from China, to study at our universities are spies for the communist government. Yet, our universities keep taking them and taking away spots for our students. Things need to change now.

The Department of Justice has been talking about this for years. It is a fact that Native communities in America have become hot beds for drug cartels. The saddest part is the rate of drug use in Native peoples have been the fastest growing in the US, both in fentanyl and meth. I oversaw a security detail for a reservation chief. As you know Indian land is sovereign. The FBI had knowledge that the Cartels were operating on Indian land. The chief gave the FBI permission to operate on the reservation. After 2 years of undercover work there was a task force the kicked down about 50 doors on the same day. they found millions of dollars in cash, drugs firearms and human slaves that had been trafficked. They took over 200 cartel members into custody. In response the cartel put out a hit out on the chief. My team was assigned as his security detail. I resigned after 2 months because I knew we were outgunned. It is likely that this Gov. is correct.
The lessons that we have learned from standing rock and the Lakota 57 tell us all we need to know about what we can expect from state and local and federal entities.

We were going to South Dakota on vacation in August for two weeks. Now, I am cancelling all reservations and looking for a new place to go. My wife and I are not really into politics but when the Governor is talking about cartel on reservations I take that seriously.
My daughters grandpa goes to pineridge for doctors appointments, he said the same thing about cartels MONTHS before she did...if they wanna fall for another land grab than i guess she can say she tried...justice for maui!!
