It’ll be interesting to see if the “Shelby” name will command a premium over a same condition / mileage standard GT. Any of the mods made to the Shelby GT can be done with hand tools. Except the rear diff swap.
Great video. The Shelby GT was exactly how I wanted "my" S197 to look and when I finally got one, a 2005 GT, it was the SGT look a tried to emulate. I went one step further with 20" Shelby Razor wheels. However, I think this is the very reason the SGT is overlooked, because it was and is so easy to make one of your own. Back when the original GT350 came out, there was really an aftermarket looking after the Mustang, so it stood out more. But, I love the Shelby heritage and I'd love a real SGT, although I personally struggle to justify the extra expense of the fact it was built by Shelby. For reference, I'm English and live here in the UK, so the S197 is rare enough, the SGT rarer still, although I have two friends that own them 🙂

I do see them come up for sale from time to time and they don't really command a premium that other Carroll Shelby cars do. That could change as time goes on. I guess we'll see. My next door neighbor owns one and that kind of peaked my interest. :)
I was driving near Ford's Proving Grounds in Dearborn recently and noticed they renamed one of the roads, Carroll Shelby Way. It's good to see they were on good terms before he passed.
A guy took a 92 Foxbody I think and took the suspension from a totaled 04 mustang put a video out on him building it it was a good video took it fora test drive and he totaled it.
