Staff Fighting - The Middle Grip

Holding a staff in the middle is commonly seen in movies and comics, but it has severe limitations using it in an actual fight. Here's why, and what you can do about it.

I train staff like stick
Mostly largo for entries - but if you don’t hv close quarters attacks - you better have AMAZING footwork

Someone out there said, "every fight ends up on the ground", unless each participant spontaneously falls over, there's going to be some close range exchanges on the way 😉

It's true - even with combatants highly motivated to keep it at range, it will inevitably close at some point.
