I always enjoyed this more than family guy and the simpsons. Why? Because the characters are lovable and well defined. Theres development and you learn more about the characters every episode. Here we again see how caring Hank can be. Despite khan being a jerk, hank still knows to do the right thing. It also exposes us to real life experience, especially tough times and how it can be ovecome like khan here.

There's some exceptions somebody could throw here, but they'd be missing the point. But the characters are REAL, they have faults, they have strengths, and they have plenty of moments. Look at the damn ending. That's some emotion right there. It got wacky when it wanted to be, but the sense of realism and subtle humor are kickass. I won't discredit classic simpsons or more-classic family guy, but obviously they both try to achieve different goals than King of the Hill did. Their adult humor capitalizes on the boundaries you are able to break within its realm, king of the hill's humor is quite literal while keeping itself within the boundaries, only ever-so-slightly tip toe-ing (??) out of the box. When it does, is it even better. We know who Hank is as a character from all his facets, and scenes such as M(r)s. Strictland hitting on him (or any of the ladies!) are that much better because it is so within character, naturally done, and out of our expectation for a regular scenario. Mike Judge knew how to play his funny cards well, and he sure did. This show was great as a kid, and still holds up today. I am sure it still will hold up when you and I are older, too. There's many good moments because they're just too damn real, the moments and the characters alike.
Hanks offensive defense was absolutely on point. He timed taking the 2x4 Then circled to his opponents back to establish dominance immediately. It wasn’t an accident the big guy respected Hank. Hank knows how to fight
Bill "Billdozer" Dauterive is the strongest but I'd wager that Dale's advanced rodent-like tactics, immunity to any form of poison, and master-level pocket sand skill could overcome almost any adversary.
I love Kahn. He’s such an interesting and relatable character despite him being so mean and he’s a great father, always doing what’s best for his daughter and even when he goes down the deep end he’s able to be pulled up from the mud just for her.

The system screws them over by telling them, "there's too many of u in colleges & succeeding so we have to make it harder for u to get in & to get things u deserve for ur hardwork." Basically treats them as a group to segregate them in this way instead of considering the hardworking individuals they are. Regardless of this, they still are the most successful group in the US. But Khan's rant here hits it perfectly. Universities neglect the people who deserve to get in order to accommodate for someone unqualified. Community colleges are there for people to straighten themselves out and for anyone to go to. Unqualified people should go there first. Universities don't need to deny someone the spot they worked hard for because they're basing standards off race.

The fact is that lots of people of all races work hard, and when you get 10k applications to a school a year, its not weird for thousands of applications to be near identical. Standing out in anyway can often help, and since the asian steroetype is hard working it won't make you stand out it just makes you typical. Schools often try to diversify their student body in order to enrich that same student body. Accepting all the same kind of people from all the same area can turn your culture into a weird echo chamber.
I don't think Kahn has friends. Ted Wassawhatever is NOT his friend, despite what Kahn thinks. His coworkers have never been shown and in that karaoke episode we find out that his employer forced him to work from home so nobody wanted him there either. I think Watchmojo should do a list oftop ten times King of the Hill tackling serious issues. This would be one of them. As well as depression, respecting veterans, toxic parents, controlling relationships, commitment to ones marriage, finding something in common with people, stress, and always doing the right thing even if it’s the hardest or least fun.
As much as I like that, I don't want Watch Mojo to make a list, they often misinterpret things or make up some phony reasons to be offended. Also despite myself being left of center politically, I just feel like Watch Mojo would ruined the list by talking about everything with a super progressive spin despite the fact there are plenty of political conservative elements that equally respected and explored as well.

This was one of my favorite episodes. Not many Americans today remember how Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians suffered who fled their homes after various communist regimes took over.
The funny thing is that Connie wasn't lying, it's just that at the time of her meeting, everything was true, and by the end of the summer program, her home life would be back to normal and she would have the credit that comes with the summer school.

I like how in a typical cartoon they would make the 2 by 4's huge and narled with like splinters and nails and stuff but in king of the hill they look normal and realistic. Then you realize that a piece of wood that size would be really dangerous if someone hit you with it
D. Carmo Yeah no, Khan was actually written as a character before caricature. Heck, he's Laotian, not exactly a nationality we have stereotypes about. He also tends to be a dick, but so can Dale. He was written with casual racism in mind, as exemplified by his first appearance and the phrase "Chinese or Japanese?". Don't get me wrong, I liked Apu too, but he was designed as a cartoonish (of course) stereotype before he was written a character. Khan was a character who was designed to have an accent, and be from a different country. That subtle change in approach can have a big difference in results.
I love how Kahn doesn't actually accept Hank's emotional appeal, he just sees the opportunity to help Connie.
So he missed Hank’s lesson.

I like how in a typical cartoon they would make the 2 by 4's huge and narled with like splinters and nails and stuff but in king of the hill they look normal and realistic. Then you realize that a piece of wood that size would be really dangerous if someone hit you with it

Yeah no, Khan was actually written as a character before caricature. Heck, he's Laotian, not exactly a nationality we have stereotypes about. He also tends to be a dick, but so can Dale. He was written with casual racism in mind, as exemplified by his first appearance and the phrase "Chinese or Japanese?".
Don't get me wrong, I liked Apu too, but he was designed as a cartoonish (of course) stereotype before he was written a character. Khan was a character who was designed to have an accent, and be from a different country. That subtle change in approach can have a big difference in results.
