It's always been more plausible to me that the fall in the Garden of Eden represents the post hoc delineation of man losing his animal nature, and that's where our problems and responsibilities begin. Our mind, it's ability to usurp the animal drives or to do evil for the sake of evil and from a young age to reflect upon our impermanence. To live in a tribe one must have laws because man's freewill doesn't always lend itself to clear choices. The animal mind can taint reason and reason can justify natural drives that may go against what is good for the tribe. Man's greatest dilemma in a society and it being at times juxtaposed to his person is I know the law and what is right but why can't I do right.

I did my University Dissitation on rhe Zohar - a structuralist interpretation using Claude Levi-Strauss' formula. This was thirty years ago at St Davids University College Lampeter - Wales. It is one of the most important books I have ever read.

Genesis 1:27 - God created man (read: mankind) in His own image, in the image of God he made him (the word 'man' is a masculine noun, so the pronoun is masculine as well), MALE and FEMALE. The two, Adam and Eve together, is one of the ways we are made in God's image. Separately, we are incomplete. That is why marriage is between a man and a woman - not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. A woman completes a man and a man completes a woman.

It's always been more plausible to me that the fall in the Garden of Eden represents the post hoc delineation of man losing his animal nature, and that's where our problems and responsibilities begin. Our mind, it's ability to usurp the animal drives or to do evil for the sake of evil and from a young age to reflect upon our impermanence. To live in a tribe one must have laws because man's freewill doesn't always lend itself to clear choices. The animal mind can taint reason and reason can justify natural drives that may go against what is good for the tribe. Man's greatest dilemma in a society and it being at times juxtaposed to his person is I know the law and what is right but why can't I do right.

OK, this video is 12 years old, it isn't likely that someone is going to read comments here unless they are honestly seeking .. so here is what I know, from my experience with ecstatic Kabbalah, and breathing meditation upon the tree of knowledge:
Set aside seven days to spend in prayer and fasting, and meditation upon the tree of knowledge. From the evening of the first day, consume nothing but pure water. If you MUST go in public, do not reveal that you are fasting and meditating with the breath of God. Upon the fourth evening, abstain from sleep, and on the fifth, abstain from water. By the seventh day, your body should be empty. On the eight day, return to your normal life, unless you are still within the experience. Make certain to have a helper present, to ensure that you can return to functioning .. you may be weakened by the experience, if you did not succeed in living on the breath of God alone.* How long this conversation takes depends on how much you need to know .. You may gain a certain bit of sympathy for Ezekiel along the way. I sure did!
In order to make the tree useful, it must be pruned, and properly oriented. As drawn, it shows the creation from divine emanation down .. but that is not your experience. Da'at is the product of the marriage of Chochmah and Binah - it is hidden because you seek knowledge through intellect, but intellect is empty. Admitting ignorance is the birth of wisdom.

Keter is the crown, and it belongs to the King. Who is YOUR king? You must choose to serve God alone, and not the self.
Now you have seven points, three defined by the marriage of positive and negative aspects (polarity) which in some cases can be construed as male/female. These 7 points correspond to 7 wells, or energy centers in the human body. When breathing in and breathing out, allow the divine breath to flow with you and through you - its progress is either impeded or permitted by how you manage these gates: Out from the Crown to the Light of creation, down through the root to the polar opposite that was created _with the first light._ You will encounter the 'serpents', Be prepared to wrestle, and use the seal with the six divine aspects (El Olam, El Shaddai, etc) to hold your ground - because if you do not know what you believe of God at this point, you will be destroyed utterly, and may do great harm to others in the process. I have struggled to form a personal relationship with any of the Abrahamic religions due to this very imbalance instead ending up finding more clarify and guidance in Taoism which is explicit about the binary and the balance throughout as this is what I sense in action in the world.
Genesis 1:27 - God created man (read: mankind) in His own image, in the image of God he made him (the word 'man' is a masculine noun, so the pronoun is masculine as well), MALE and FEMALE. The two, Adam and Eve together, is one of the ways we are made in God's image. Separately, we are incomplete. That is why marriage is between a man and a woman - not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. A woman completes a man and a man completes a woman.
Study real Judaism and Kabbalah, just drop all BS fake “rituals” (like lighting candles, lighting menorah, repeating prayers from man made books, accept any knowledge without questions, believe in Torah as if it’s factual etc). Plus, all other fake rules, like not using electricity or driving, or weird food rules… ALL of that is FAKE! There were no candles back then, but oil lamps. There was zero mention of cars or electricity in Torah, like WТF! Also, no need to cover head or attach weird boxes with atraps on your head and arm, also NOT in Torah! No, you don’t have to separate meat and cheese (unless coming from the SAME animal). Also, kosher certification was invented in the recent DECADES, you don’t need to care about this fake stuff at all! Basically, study philosophy of Judaism and Kabbalah, but NOT fake religions made up from it. Amen!

What i got from all this is that religion is a form of philosophy that evolves and is interpreted through the ages by smart people with vast imaginations that were also good salesmen who were in turn able to sell their interpretation successfully.
All you have to do is study popular leaders and teachers of religion now to see that the same thing is happening and will continue to happen as the smartest of sometimes most charismatic rise to the top and will be the ones whose ideas will live on into the future and people will say they had divine revelation either one because they told people they did or two because the time distance will make people interpret it as such.

@@anotherone5926 Actually Sefer Yetzirah is attributed to Abraham but also to Akiva. The Zohar came later, by Rashbi. I don't remember why I mentioned Moses De Leon.

Interpret it as you wish- as there is no 'correct/authoritative' interpretation (just like the Tanakh itself). Use it like a Rorschach inkblot test. An interesting factoid (alluded to in the video) is that the Hebrew word 'Pardez' and the English word 'Paradise' are related. Not mentioned here is that these were ultimately derived from Old Persian (pairidaēza, a pleasure park or garden).
