Theres still something special in the sound and feeling of a hi-compression, super high flowing and efficient V8 turning 8,000rpms, making 100% raw untampered power.
Just pure music to my ears in a noisy world.
I would listen to a 10 minute video of nothing but that exhaust-WHAT A NOISE
needs to be a ring tone
Sounds like it's got the wrong cam in it . . . Of course, I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it.
Had a totally crap day, suddenly a Cleetus vid shows up and now everything is just a tad better, thank you Cleetus crew for being who you are!

Take care brother 💪

Seeing the response to this brought some well needed joy to my day thanks to all of you ✌👀
I love that Cleetus makes NASCAR more popular. It's an amazing racing experience when you really start to pay attention to everything about it... It's SOOOO much more than going fast and turning left.
Not to get to technical with all the car language, but Dale Truck goes vroom vroom real good.
Woah, woah... you're gonna have to dial back on the advanced terminology there. Someone's head may explode!
You get the dew on the track an it's dangerous
I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THE RACING YOU GUYS DO AN YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT THAT TRUCK SUSPENSION IS SET BUILT FOR GOING IN A CIRCLE..A DRAG CAR HAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT REAR SET UP..PLUS WHY WOULD YOU TRY TO PLOW DOWN THE TRACK WITH THOSE BIG ASS FRONT TIRES.
What ever that truck does down the truck is from pure brute HP....from that awesome LS6 engine...just imagine if you put a power glide an a 4 link in the rear
@@stephentringale5865 The Dale truck has a TSP 427 built from an alum 5.3 with bigger sleeves. Oh and the suspension in it is the same truck arm style as Farm Truck has and he gets down the 1/4 mile pretty good! lol
2:38 .. nothing brings me more joy than to see your all wearing hearing protection finally
Dale truck Sounds the best of all the cars. Choppy
The best sound besides the ground pounding that happens
Open exhaust and a bumpy cam will do that
NA cam’ll do that
I wonder what chop rating Zac from hoonigan would give it
@@gnarkiller negative, cams need to be degree'd, need to have high enough compression and weight on crank so it actually idles. he also has an exhaust, low profile oval shape exits under cab/door
Hey man wanted to give you an idea of something to look for on the dale truck fuel issue. I’m sure it has a fuel cell in it. If it has foam in it then if it’s old there’s a good chance of it being deteriorated and clogging the pick up. We race round track and have seen this issue before.
Caleb Jackson holly hydra mat for the win.
That’s a great point, also if the pick up is located in the right rear corner for ovals to get the last drop of fuel for a NASCAR race, when you shift the fuel shifts forward and away from the pick up.
Yeah, look for advice on what type of pick up they would use for road courses And they're right. That foam deteriorates fast if it is exposed to air and it's wet with soaked up gas. Totally dry would be ok, but any liquid would cause it to "rot".
Cleetus! Steve who sent the graphics, glad to see them on Ruby thanks for the shout-out brother!

The Dale truck acoustics are awesome!!! The reverb is superb!! Love what y'all do keep it.
Time for a Holly fuel mat.
That's what I was thinking
The sound of the Dale never gets old!
Cletus you have to autocross this truck ! I mean Leroy for the strip . Blown Vic for the drift pad . Then ruby for whateverrr . You're a hell of a driver , try autocross .
It would be a monster on big courses, but it's too big to be fast through a tight slolam
It wouldn't do worth a crap on a tight autocross course. He'd just have to spin the tires to get it to turn sharp at all. These chassis aren't made for anything where you turn the wheel more than a quarter turn or so. Depending what steering box ratio it has in it he'd have to turn the wheel like 2 full turns as well and by that time the shock bolts would be destroying the rotors.
What about big courses ? My guy is putting a jet engine in a elco . pretty sure he could get a nascar to turn right 😂😂
Seriously pumped for you guys! Its all gonna come together just in time for race season! Jet camino will be the icing on the cake!
For safety, should always be in the harness on the dyno. Especially with a naked steering column staring at your chest. Just saying. Love you guys, dont wanna see anything unfortunate happen.

Cleeter most drag cars have the fuel pickups in the back of the tank, nascar tends to be out of the sides, roadcourse cars tend to be centralized with baffles or at the corners with the holly mod mat stuff, flip the tank 90 and pickup from the back you should be fine. You also need some gearing and slicks wouldn't be a bad idea, altho nascar rear axles tend to break when spinning the tires and dropping them from a jack.. so you may need a beefier diff and better axles.
I'm just wondering what the hell is in this engine that's making 600HP with no forced induction at all, and without being some quad-valve Italian V12.
@@vtr0104 It's a 427 cubic inch ls chevy motor with some big heads and a lumpy cam. it's making about 1.5hp per cube which isn't exceptionally difficult to do.
The main difference in the exotic 12 cylinder engines is they rev really high like 8500-10.000 rpm and are smaller motors.
How horsepower works is air in and air out of the motor and enough fuel to burn it.
So well use the Dale trucks engine for example. It moves probably 350 cfm of air a minute thru the intake ports. horsepower is 2 to 2.2 cfm per horse power. so using basic math and some formula's ideally the motor should make 650-700hp at the flywheel which it does then drive train losses eat up close to 15-25%.
The exotic engines to make 650hp still has to move 1300 cfm of air per minute, they use the same basic ideas in a smaller motor with more valves. So if you take the say Ferrari engine's intake ports they might move 200-250 cfm per cylinder. To make the same power and the bigger engine it needs to move that much air so either a big port or 2 smaller ports and a lot more rpm.
There is other differences, the Dale trucks engines has 2 valve per cylinder and the intake valve is probably like a 2.10 diameter valve, a Ferrarri engine has 4 valves per cylinder and are probably 1.5 inches in diameter. the Ferrari engine moves a similar amount of air or more thru it's smaller valves because it has more valve area aka a bigger set of holes to move more air. The 2 valve engine relies on brute size for it's power.
The v12 rev's higher to make the same airflow it also has 12 cylinders so the pistons are smaller do not move as far and have better breathing so it rev's higher to make more power..
Leeroy the corvette kart uses 2 turbos to force air into the motor but the same rules still apply 2 - 2.2 cfm per hp is required for gasoline, other fuels require less air or carry oxygen onboard to help. So 2 70mm turbines and the mph they are hitting is probably making out near 1500 hp so using some basic math the 2 turbos at the condition and settings they are in move approximately 3000 cfm of air I think the engine revs to 7500rpm roughly. If you used the 2 turbos on the ferrarri engine it would make 1500 hp at similar boost levels but it would do it closer to 9000-10,000 rpm. Same amount of air movement = same amount of power.
It's just 2 different ways to do the same thing.
With that said.. We get to the crown victoria's engine..It's a 4 valve per cylinder 5.4 (approx 330ci) engine. It's capable with the right parts of making well let's see the best pro stock engines @ 500ci make roughly the same power as leeroy 3 hp per cube which is outstanding btw could make right at 1000 hp it needs to move 2000 cfm of air roughly.
The Ford motor in the vic has the same style of head as the Ferrari and can make some serious rev's and numbers at the top of the rev range. The 427 in leeroy and the dale truck on a good day with better parts could make 2.2-2.3hp per cubic inch and 900-1000 hp so could the ford motor in the vic, the exotic would have a tough time without outside influence to make that kinda power. So to go to the extreme end of the engine spectrum we have the v10's in the f1 cars.. That's a small book in itself how they do what they do. But a really good v10 non turbo car made 850-900hp which is knocking on the door of 8hp per cube naturally aspirated. But it did so at 20,000 rpm in some cases. Still a 4 valve engine.. but taken to the far end of reality, 1000+ psi nitrogen valve "springs" there is no springs involved. And so on. The Ferrari engine and the ford 4 valve are more based upon that type of tech the LS engine is based on 1900's technology just take about as far as a oem can take it.
As a FYI the crown vic engine despite being 100 cubes smaller then the 427's can make more power Naturally aspirated but would have to act like the Ferrari engine and make 5 digit rpm to do it. A sloppy blower like they are using is actually costing power up top but makes up for it in the driveable range which makes drifting and stuff a lot easier. People get caught up in peak numbers.. Which is nice but where is the engine going to live at? Leeroy's engine is probably 6000-7500 rpm and only has to make broad power in that range. So using boost and gearing and stuff they keep it in that range.
Add the same boost to the crown vic engine as leeroy's getting and it'll make 1500 hp without any real issues
@@Scootermagoo That was a heck of a long explanation, thanks for taking the time to write it all. Math is not one of my strong-points, and you look like you know your stuff. Hat's off to you, Sir.

Cleetus, in the dirt stock cars we bolt lead weights by the shocks to transfer weight side to side and for traction. Something to look into. Speedway Racing has them. Do it for Dale!
That is so American. HEY CLEETER!
Softer rear springs. Adjust shocks to left rear, no compression. Right rear, slightly more compression. Adjust your bump stops on the right rear, probably a bit tighter, so the weight hits when you dump the clutch.
When you find that sweet spot for your two step, you will find a failsafe launch rpm.
Fuel slosh.... mercy of grace! 3/4 tank and fuel pickup on right rear side,,, always! : Sidenote; tank the metal fuel tanks in an acid bath or you get BAD BOOM when you cut or weld on them.

4.10 rear end for low 10s. Do it for Dale! (Also a set of slicks, and 200 lbs of sandbags in the box. You need the 4.10 so you don't shift so late into 4th, current gear you shifted just before the lights.)
2:40 Why do I feel like James is somewhere out of frame cradling a nitrous bottle watching and waiting...
we are on such different levels of joy, you got a 10.9 with the dale truck, and I just got a car running for the first time in 15 years yesterday on a budget of almost $0, completely different, but feels just as good
If its leaf spring rear get a set of Caltracs and it will 60 foot quicker then Leroy no need for sandbags
It should have truck arms and a panhard (track bar) bar. With coil springs, he should be able to lower the points on the front of the truck arms and it should help it hook better. Taking some rounds out of both rear springs would also be a place to start before he bought some softer springs. A lot of times on a race car the rear springs would be a high spring rate to help hold the correct attitude of the chassis and body in the corners, no telling what this truck has in it though.
@@jeffreyroth7517 Taking coils off a spring makes it more stiff. That's what they don't want.
@@JViello by taking rounds out I meant taking pressure off the spring with the jackbolt that locates the spring on the chassis. It's not a solid mount on a chassis like this. It 1, makes it quicker, and easier to change springs and 2, super easy to set your cross weight, the weight that each tire has on the scales.
