You know, as much as it sucks to see the Dale truck not do a full pass, it was great to see your friends race their own cars and get a mini feature :)
Watching back through some old videos I had missed. Wha a great time this was, just mates hitting the strip.
Still sad that Coop left the channel but happy that James joined. As a British guy their calmness and deadpan humour is so appreciated as a contrast to Cleatus' energy.
All that time Leroy stayed reliable running 8's. The Dale trucks making up for it now.
Well, the Dale truck hasn't had a hard pass with that power in it for a long time, if any. Something was liable to break with the new LS7 and the power it's putting out. Something had to give. Leroy was broken several times over the last year, just the last 3-4 months it's been pretty reliable because he got the weak parts out that gave out on him.

I’m on my lunch break at work, and I’m gonna be honest, watching the dale truck do a sideways burnout was sexy.

The things that broke: That's how you test the car and find out what needs fixing.
Given that it was only rear axle problems I am impressed, not expensive problems considering what you can break.
For me watching as an enthusiast I get to witness and learn from this.

The guy driving the truck that blew is a good sport. If that was my first run and I was out for the rest of the day, I'd be sour, but he didn't let it get him down and he was still pumped for his friends and was engaged in their times. That's a good friend.

Hopefully it didn't damage the transmission.
I've seen quite a few broken driveshafts take out the transmissions, and a few taking out the transmission as well as the engine.
yup , my truck done the same thing as dale's truck first gear no problem as soon as i put in second it broke off from the rear u-joint flange cutting it in half , now i knew i needed a flange and u-joint but when i tried taken out the DS the rear tail housing with transmission case was cracking bad that it needed to be changed , rear end was gm 10bolt and trans was th400 .

This is why I like you cletus. Even after destroying the truck you had a good attitude the rest of the day and were pepping your boys up and giving them confidence. If I broke my ride like you did I would be bummed all day and just not in a good mood but you stayed calm and kept the fun going for everyone else. Gotta get the v into the tens now. GET IT COOPER!!!
@@randy2645 oh I know. It's not the financial part that would piss me off, it's the fact of going to a track expecting to race all day and then 60 feet later it's back on the trailer. Not a very fun day.

I offroad and I almost piss myself laughing when I get stuck. The first ten minutes are hard core laughing next ten is burning rubber on rocks then the next ten is stacking rocks while laughing. 😂😂 Breaking shit on a full send is hysterical to me. I'm also broke as shit and don't have the money to just break shit. But it's almost like a badge of honor in my opinion. 🤣

If it was a stock third member case it's only really good for 500ish the nodular case can hold more but they aren't as strong as people assume

On the V, just pull the "Trunk Dr Release" fuse under the rear seat, drivers side if you don't want to mess with the ABS sensors

I have broken several 9 inches that way. It pushes the pinion out of the front of the chunk and binds the driveshaft up.
Finally someone that actually knows what happened It was axle wrap a nascar wouldnt have a pinion snub or slapper bars so the axle over rotated

Who ever welded the loop into place needs their butt kicked . The loop is supposed to hold it up,not join the parts "making a break for Freedom..." 🗽🗽🗽🚘

Also...as a general observation:
the center section failed, which caused the shaft to break
Can those spec driveshaft loops typically handle a flailing around 3rd member? They were designed and spec'd to handle a broken u-joint or broken drive shaft, not a 30+ lb section of a 3rd member, including the entire pinion shaft & gear, yoke, driveshaft, u-joints, etc. that is still attached to "power" and flailing around at 4000+ rpm...
Well...it's fake as hell...so there's that i guess...if it were a legit chassis, it'd have a CERT tag and not look like a hokey piece of shit...
I never had a break like that, but it sure looks to me like the diff took out the driveshaft - I might be wrong. Even if that was a super rare factory nodular case (big N cast in the side), it's not built to handle that kind of power. As I recall, the next step was to go to a Strange nodular center with extra ribs (if you had money), or get a junkyard semi-floater Dana 60 (if you were mostly broke).
It broke because of axle wrap it needs a pinion snub or slapper bars
Radials are very unforgiving to a manual transmission car rear ends. Just ask mustanglifestyle lol.

Cooper's car is really coming together now. You've taken a car that was really never made to drag race and made it pretty good at it. It's got the blower, the hoosiers, and now you can even do burnouts too. I love the front splitter as well, very racecar. Maybe add a matching diffusor in the rear. I would love to see some water / meth injection too. That stuff is badass for blower cars. A better diff might be the most necessary and prudent upgrade though if it really is making the car go hard to the side like you were saying.

Any time I see a driveshaft painted white that normally means it's a circle track shaft. Per the rule book they have to be painted white so that they are visible to everyone if they fall out. Does that make a difference in how it was made? How strong it is? Shock load from a launch? I don't have that answer.

Lot of ppl don't realize that 9inch center sections used for round track racing won't hold up to drag racing launches. Casting isn t nearly as strong. Front pinion support bearings are designed different also.

We get little updates along the way, Mr Cleetus Mcshiftfast has a massive RV now, with a dual car stack trailer (still has the single car trailer), still has white buffalo, Leroy, the Dale truck, and neighbor. Not sure about the limo but as far as I know the only big thing sold is the C7.
