Another cool feature of the KN 2000 is that beyond stacking up to three instrument voicings (1st, 2nd, & Sub), you can also press Right 1 and Right 2 at the same time to stack up to SIX voicings at once
Finally I have my own KN2000! It's a ship with a good sound texture and I like the sequencer very much! It's arrived from Germany at the incredible price of 20€ + 45€ of shipping costs, all working and in very good external conditions but the floppy drive doesn't want to work, I will find a solution soon...I can send and receive data by Midi using Sysex and this is a good solution to save proper sequencer or sounds data...The question is, dear Kris, do You have some personalized sound to share with us? We may use It loading by the Sysex file...Thank You! Marius
@@petermartin5030 The contacts in the inside of the encoder were all tarnished black. I desoldered the encoder off the tiny circuit board and used a screwdriver to gently pry up the tabs holding the encoder together. I then used Deoxit to very very carefully clean the spring contacts and the encoder surface. After cleaning the contacts should be bright gold/silver in colour. If you are wanting to try a less invasive approach you could lever the encoder knob off and see if you can trickle Deoxit down between the casing and the shaft and the work the encoder round and round to see if that cleans it up for you. Good luck👍🏻
I am looking for one of these wonders essentially for the good internal 16trks sequencer with full edit features (quantize, copy, paste, punch etc) ...Will be the center of my midi hardware to make music without the use of pc and daw, I love old school recording, then I got some multitrack Digital recorders like tascam dp32sd and zoom r24...the last touch is a workstation with the midi sequencer then kn2000 or a roland E50...thank You for your videos
Hello! I have a KN 2000 synthesizer, I really need to download one style. But I don't know how to do it at all. The KN 2000 does not have a separate hole for the flash drive, there is only one for the floppy disk and the USB cord. Please tell me in as much detail as possible how can I upload a ready-made style to my KN 2000 synthesizer?
KN2000 is great. The KN3000 adds aftertouch, and KN5000 adds full envelope control of pitch, and filter. I wouldn't say that the KN2000 if a full blown subtractive synthesizer, but it's capable. To me, the KN5000 is a full blown subtractive synthesizer. By the way, I don't know why they removed aftertouch on KN6500 and KN7000. [Correction: Technics did not remove aftertouch on KN6500 and KN7000. Both KN6500 and KN7000 feature aftertouch.]
@@dvamateur I just saw an AX7 on ebay, sold together with a Roland PC 180 A for 170 plus shipping. (the others you mentioned, too, but not as cheap lol)
@@dvamateur I had an AX7 for a few years. They're really nice sounding instruments - I loved the 80's style PCM drums on it. No longer have it as I had to slim down stuff I couldn't justify keeping. Have a KN3000 and WSA1. The synth engine in the KN3000 is incredibly flexible and deep - essentially a 4 oscillator per note sound engine and the WSA1 is very similar but adds the physical modelling to the ROM samples.
just got one from a buddy. cant even figure out how to bypass the split featurs so that i can have ONE sound up and down the keys. and the downloadable manual doesnt explain !!

Hi, try to do a factory reset, turn off the keyboard, while pressing these 3 buttons 8 Beat2 + Jazz Rock & Soul + Dance Pop turn on the key board, all settings will be restored to factory and all will be resetted.
Timeless favorite arranger Technics keyboard

So glad that you liked my comment, I guess actually HELPING me figure out my issue was too much to ask for. but hey !! Thanks for the like !!!
Just picked on of these up for £50 with a broken encoder wheel. Took about an hour to fix and she's as good as new now🎹
How did you fix the encoder wheel? I have the same problem on a KN5000 (its only problem).

@@SabretoothBarnacle Thanks for your advice. I'm wary of causing more problems than I solve, so I'll start gently.
