I so often take my photos to literally. I look and look for a “good” picture without thinking to alter the photo. I have found your videos soooo helpful! Thank you so much!
I usually take pictures with my ce!l phone. I've changed the picture format to take the broadest picture possible. Like you, I then crop the picture to obtain different views. The distortion inherent in the large frame can be adjusted by having references for the different details.
@@philstarke.artist this is a good question. How do you use your phone to adjust value. I'd like to try this while on location. Also , do actually paint from these photo edits or do you make more changes in the painting?
It should be pointed out for anyone watching this: you don't need Photoshop to crop a photo. It would be like hiring a private jet to take you nextdoor. Photoshop is a huge, expensive, professional software suite. Image cropping is the most basic edit you can do; any image-editing software that comes free with your device will crop images, including the phone you took the images with. In fact any device that can display images will have a way to crop them, and perform other basic edits as well.
I've just bought Photoshop Elements 23 & still poking around to see what I can do. But it's fairly reasonable to buy & can do a lot of different things. Just saying, you don't have to buy the whole jet plane. ☺@@philstarke.artist
Thankyou Phil. It always amazes me when you take a snapshot and turn it into something that will be a beautiful painting.
You are very welcome Linda
Thanks a lot for this informative video!
