You have to be REALLY lucky to have this channel show up as a rec for you to even find it. I think I found this channel originally while watching a "Bigfoot" video.
There are so many high quality channels like this, and they get zero reach. Instead they just plop anything that has a "Top 5" in it as a rec all the time, and I specifically do NOT sub to those channels, or watch them, but they still show up.
Channels like this are hidden gems. It's a shame because this kind of quality narration and research and writing should be what the algorithm is shoving in everyone's faces, not dumbass robo-voice chatGPT script top 5 videos!

And yet so many people do not understand the history of the Bible, the twisting of its words, and the ignoring of its warnings. There is something of a devil in the Bible, he is not the king of hell, but it’s prisoner, he also doesn’t have all that much power. There is a concerning amount of idolatry towards satan in the world today, almost more fear of him than love of god.

There are several corrupting forces in the scriptures, the great red dragon, Baphomet, etc, these are separate figures though, sometimes United under the title “opponent/accuser” or śaṭan (which is the Hebrew) it doesn’t refer to a single powerful figure, there is something of a Devil in the Bible, but the extent to which people fear this entity which doesn’t really exist in the scripture instead of wishing to join with god... is concerning

Hi Hammerson, I was born and raised in Burin, Newfoundland. We have many French named towns but none of them are actually pronounced in their true French way. Petite Forte’ is pronounced Petty Fort, another example Port au Bras, pronounced Port-o-bra.
The little French islands not far from Burin called St Pierre and Miquelon were the focal point of much smuggling of liquor and tobacco right up until the 90’s when the RCMP started confiscating houses, boats and vehicles as proceeds of crime. Smuggling still continues but in much smaller and quieter circles. When I was in my late teens it was quite easy to purchase 60oz bottles of rum or whiskey or 200g cans of premium tobacco. A phone call, a query about the availability of “green paint” and a short walk was all required to purchase smuggled tobacco or cigarettes.

This is an excellent piece, Hammerson. I've never seen these cross-cultural parallels so extensively researched and explored in such detail. Macroanalyses at this level could yield a compelling body of data. I sense you may be on your way to some of your greatest work.
Interesting. Had one night camping out in a particularly isolated part of Dartmoor England. It is swampy/boggy in places, has multiple legends attached to it and is covered in structures from the Neolithic onwards including graves. The first night heard voices that were unintelligible, and in a specific whispered tone all that night. I put it down to a trick of the mind as id gone from a noisy city to total quiet, my mind trying to de-stress and fill in the blanks with the voices/noises that were no longer there. Been there many times since including straight from a noisy city and the effect has never occurred again though I've never camped in that exact place again (if I could even find it). You have to wonder!!!!

I recently came across 2 odd accounts of strange happenings. They were so similar despite being both centuries & continents apart.
The first story takes place prior to the Renaissance and tells of some festival occuring when a sailing ship emerges from the clouds and drops an anchor. This anchor gets snagged on something, either a door or a tombstone depending on the account. A lighter than air human then jumps off the ship and starts floating down along the anchor line using swiming-like motions. People from the festival on the ground restrain this person but a priest or bishop tells the people to release him as he will drown if kept down here in the thicker atmosphere for too long. He is released and swims back up through the air to the ship. Later the people on the ship cut the anchor line and the sailing ship in the sky sails off and out of site.
Cut to the US in the late 1890's during the rash of flying machine sightings. In one newspaper account a flying machine is sighted over a town. An achor is thrown overboard and begins to be dragged along the ground. Eventually the anchor snaggs some railroad ties. A curious croud begins to gather until the occupants in the flying machine decide to cut the anchor line.
Due to the span of time, the different locations, and the fact that only a few hundred people could have been aware of the first story in the 1890's, makes me think that this story is something that's a product of the collective unconscious. Take that however you like.
Edit: Thanks to the channel Think Anomalous for uncovering the parallels between these to stories and bringing it to public attention.
Jacques Vallee was the one to research those old stories regarding the flying ships and anchors and point out their similarities in one of his books back in the 70s or 80s. It's cool other channels are bringing it up in their videos, too, but they should credit Jacques for that one. He was among the first to connect UFOs/Aliens with fairies, leprechauns, and other folklore. He got a lot of ridicule at the time, but his ideas are becoming more mainstream nowadays.
@@Pillagingjust4fun... I'd say Jaques Vallee's work consists of about 80% of the material on that channel. There's even a video dedicated to "Five Arguments Against the Extraterrestrial Origin of Unidentified Flying Objects." The only reason why I didn't cite Vallee before was because I couldn't recall if it was Vallee or not.

My family is from Antigonish, NS, and I can guarantee that it is a creepy place at night. Especially when you get out to the St. Joseph's Parrish area at night. Driving through those woods in pitch black is the eeriest experience. There is a cemetery in St. Josephs that has a light shining in the cemetery at night, but during the day, there is no light to be seen anywhere. I used to spend summers there as a kid and it was a very scary place to be outside in the dark. Lots of noises in the woods and very few houses spaced far apart.

In Guatemala they have the "Sombreron or Tziztimite" (big hat), is a smaller than a child man wearing an absurdly large hat, suit and often carrying an acoustic guitar.
Who would try to seduce beautiful women with long hair and big eyes; throwing dirt at their food(while being invisible) causing them to starve to death, charming them with serenatas, and making braids in the women's hair and horses manes/tails so intertwined that is impossible to undo them, being the only choice left to cut them off.
Legend has it there are two ways to get rid of the evil spirit both with the promise of giving the victim away in marriage to the entity:

If you believe that then you haven't been paying attention to what Dave has been saying. Although a small percentage of incidents can be attributed to to cryptid activities, there's something much worse than them lurking around and they're not on foot but up ☝️there in craft that are far more advanced than anything we have developed yet.
Young women tend to exhibit unusual electro-magnetic issues as they go through puberty. Most girls do not attract anything that can cause unusual activity. BTW, my friend Smokey, Grampa's pony, would have burrs, but nobody could braid his mane, and certainly none of the odd folk either. And Smokey would not let just anyone ride or even get near him. I'm grateful he thought me adequate.

Pretty interesting but I feel like a lot of the connections are a bit of a stretch.
While the horse braiding little people thing likely entered Native culture with the European immigrants, I will say that there are stories of the more mischievous little people tying peoples' hair or clothes to trees & bushes when out in the wild & not paying attention.
Also, poltergeists seem to have been originally attributed in Germanic culture with angry or mischievious elves, as well as some types of ghost phenomenon, doppelgangers, the sleep Paralysis Demon (old Hag was imported from the Slavs to replace the original Germanic interpretation), crop circles, spiriting people away, mine knockers & swamp lights/ orbs/ ball lightning. You can kind of see that in the fact that household elves most dispise in the humans they cohabit with, a disorderly household which is constantly fighting, as well as laziness, uncleanliness & general disrespect leveled towards themselves & the gods.
Next, I'm a little sad of what it appears that the Changeling lore was describing is more akin to the mother getting postpartum depression. The child looks a little different naturally after a few weeks or months & it's rare for babies to automatically form an emotional attachment to the parent in as much as taking it as normal & fearing change & very common for a parent to catch on to that fact & feel slighted, put off, scared or confused by it, as many women assume their child loving them will be automatic, thus they feel trapped with this thing that neither loves nor respects them yet, often unsure of what it wants or how to calm it when it's upset & slip into depression. Doesn't sound like it's necessarily trying to be an explanation for autism, at all. Not everyone who is weird or antisocial is autistic, either. Autistics have obsessive ideas of order which they consider non-negotiable & don't find weird at all, have trouble processing the emotions of themselves or others & gravitate to skills &/ or academics over forming bonds from an extremely early age, instead of prioritizing bonds, or doing both, as the average person would do. People can also become weird due to becoming emotionally stunted from lack of opportunity or abuse/ neglect or otherwise intentional withdrawal from society, or may have other mental illnesses- OCD, anxiety disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.
In scandinavian folklore, we had the little people. They could be mischievous if not fed by the farmers. But if fed, they would bring luck to the farm and protect it.
I've experienced two bearded humanoids while sleeping in some woods when i was a teen. I was gonna sleep in my sleeping bag in the woods, as my mothers car only had enough space for her and my little brother.
Before closing my eyes, i got this thought that i was gonna say out loud:" Tell the animals that i wanna be left alone. Im just sleeping here and will be going when i wake up!"
Then two bearded humanoids stood maybe 2 meters away from me, in wool clothing and red top hats appeared. Smiled at me, and said in thought:"hihi, we will tell them,hihi!"
And they disappeared as fast as they appeared.
I just thought okey, thanks, and fell asleep.
Those woods and entities felt genuine, and it felt like a protected part of the woods. I showed it respect, and they showed me respect.

missing 411 the people who are found, can never seem to remember what happened or what. never heard their side of what happened.
little Betty was most likely sexually abused, probably by the same criminals who raped her sister. She was kept and abused for a few days then let go in the forest. when she was found she was in shock. Being very young, she couldn't really understand what happened to her and repressed it after a while, not remembering and seeming happy again. Probably had some mental problems later as an adult. It's also possible that the criminals were not the neighbouring boys but some vagrants who also milked the farmers cow but remained hidden, movin on after the events.

Why would a demonic entity have an especially intense aversion to “seeing a cross?” After all, if your previous statements in regard to their primary reason for possession being that of “to cause suffering”, one would surmise that the sight of “a cross”, ie, the symbol of ultimate suffering caused by crucifixion, would actually have an inverse effect on a demon. Something to think about...
I presume because the cross symbolizes Christ's victory over Satan.
The cross is a symbol of God's forgiveness, humbleness, might and absolute power.
Jesus is referred to as 'the weakling' by the Evil ones. The cross represents multiple things. The crucifixion which was meant to destroy Jesus and humanity actually lead to their salvation. The human body crucified on that cross was supposed to die but it did not it was made an instrument to complete humanities transformation. The cross was made to represent the defeat of Satan and his plans to destroy humanity. He must have tasted Victory only to realize to late that he was always working towards defeat.

It's an interesting line to walk, looking into, researching and discussing these topics.
My personal experience and thoughts are based on a couple things.
1 is, no one had to tell me there was a monster or boogie man under my bed, I always knew that, as in being born with this idea/experience...
2 is, many people use the word demon (for example) as a full stop in maintaining their own ignorance for whatever reason. I find willful ignorance troubling...
