The one with the cold guy? In the end that's how it often is in the real world, you aren't considered truly dead until you are warm and dead, being cold or even borderline frozen actually saves people's lives as their body was able to basically go into a semi hibernation state to protect itself and preserve other functions albeit as long as you aren't too cold for too long.
in that case is probably best to just make noise of any kind, be it scream or just banging on stuff at a rythm so they can tell the noise comes from a human
You aren't dead until you're warm and dead. They should have taken him to hospital to have his temperature brought up. She was grandstanding, or needs better training.
Can we talk about the woman at 17:05 ? Immediatly goes to the chief. Tells him where the fire is. Tells him where to find the victims. Tells him how many people there is inside. Pretty sure this is the kind of informations every firefighter wants to have.

it’s not about breaking the lock effectively. It’s a fictional scene designed to create dramatic tension. I’m pretty confident NBC can afford any type of consultant they’d like if they cared about the authenticity of breaking a lock.
@@catmaxwell6691 I know it’s a work of fiction, but that was my point. @ respectfully, it *is* nonsense. And none of their “medical stuff” is accurate, either. It’s cheap television fiction, with fictional scenarios created specifically to advance the plot. Authenticity, in any form, isn’t a prerequisite. Real medicine, emt’s, cops and police procedures, have no place in a discussion about entertainment, dumbed down to suit an hour format, & the common viewer.

If you are talking about the doctor (Shaw) and the female paramedic, they went on a dare/one night stand and he read way more into it than she did and got all stalkery trying to get another date. When she refused, he got mad and tried to get her fired/disgraced with a bogus allegation. Turned he had a pattern of that kind of behavior which is what the paramedic was talking about.

You're not dead until you're warm and dead!
You saw those nurses out there smiling their head off I am sure they were on her side.
Imagine someone is hurt and caught under debris. They are deaf/mute and cannot respond to “fire department. call out”.
Maybe they could bang pieces of debris together to get their attention?

Sometimes if a patient is hypothermic to a point, the heart can slow to the point of appearing asystole. But being frozen can preserve someone.
