Hi mam i was there in sonamarg in Jan 2022 , snowfall was good in sonamarg , but sleding and hiring a jeep from Tangmarg coasted Rs 4k , to expensive ,good cheating but what to do tourist all the way from hyderabad . paid it .

You do the bargaining. make it clear that you will not pay a penny more than agreed. As soon as you start the ride, "Helpers" will flock and try to convince you that the path is dangerous and you require their services. In a harsh manner tell them to leave and make it clear you will not pay them. Do not pay more than Rs 300 for the sledge ride.
2000 car rental till Sonmarg and from Sonmarg to Sonmarg 2000 to 2500 car rental , rest it is upto you for rides, but don’t go for sledging ride it is worthless from down to up, ya better opt for downwards but again only if they charge 200 not more than that as it is useless ride. Bike ride is from 1200 to 1800 but better look at the official board and give them accordingly. I feel better go by foot and enjoy. Or else you will waste your time fighting with them. Sonmarg is disaster.

Taxi Union is big problem. .I think tourist are bread and butter for them, but there rudness and bargaining tricks not good for them, Government should take action and fixed the rate. ..I really appreciate your hard work 😀👍

Rent a car from Srinagar to and fro cost 2000 and one we took till Sonmarg sight to and fro 2000 so total we paid for the day 4000
