Would learning impossibles and shuvs (not popped) help with bs bigs and bs360s? I have a hard time popping and THEN scooping, I always only pop and can't get the board controlled and to stay under me

I recently suffered an injury and couldn't skate for about 2 months and since I have been back on my board I'm finding it really difficult to find the commitment to do flip tricks down gaps again. Any advice or tips for getting flip tricks back for gaps?
Sounds just like a mental game. I don't know what makes you motivated so i'm not sure what would get you to commit more. Try making things more fun/challenging for yourself (whatever that means to you). That usually takes care of the motivation.

Paul Anderson Ah man, I had chicken foot too. You've probably gotten rid of it by now, but if anyone else has this problem what helped me was I would lay down some cardboard. It just kind of tricked my brain into thinking that it's safer to slam on cardboard instead of pavement. After a few days of that and falling properly everything worked out. Slamming sucks.

If you're trying to do them higher put your back foot closer to the tip of the tail and pop more than you scoop. Wind up hard. That's how Mr. O'neill does em

I got you. Do a front shuv with your shoulders winded up but put your back foot on the back end of the tail so you can scrape that tail hard to get full a rotation. Aim for 90 then turn 180
this is the trick i love the most but ive never been able to do them no matter how much i try. i started seriously practicing it like 4 month ago since i felt like maybe this trick just needs a commitment seshion to learn but i cant seem to pop a three shuv and spin around with it. i can bs 180 and 360 pretty consistently without piviting neither yet i fant seem to do the big spin.. I learned them the other day in like 10 trys what helped me is learning them fakie first and not to hang my toes too far off the edge of the tail and just give it a quick scoop
Really a big spin isn't a 3 shuv, it's more like a pop shuv with a back 180. Wind up going bs, do a pop shuv and catch it at 90 degrees and complete the rotation, pretty much like a bs flip but with a pop shuv, that's what helps me
