I took up fishing after seeing you and Alex smashing it everywhere you went, now I’ve been fishing two years and never enjoyed something so much, so thank you for putting in all this work into helping others 🎣🎣
❤❤
Ahhh wow sooo glad to hear this! You're so welcome, thank you Callum! So glad you're loving your fishing! Means a lot to hear.
Excellent Carl, great for beginners and the filming was great. I've used those super sharp hooks and you're right the point is easily damaged. if you're fishing a rock/gravel bottomed pond where the carp have developed really hard lips, they may be just the thing.
That has just proved to me that you are never too old to learn. Thanks Carl.
Cheers Barry, you're welcome
Hey bro hats off to you.
Such important points but I always seem to forget whenever I go for fishing.
Thanks for the informative video
Knot moistening and checking hook sharpness, errors so many do, even the experienced if they are lazy. Great tips, especially about the ultra sharp hooks. The point gets turned over so easily if it touches gravel, a twig, anything.
The only thing I would add about sharpening hooks, it takes away surface protection away and they can rust to the point of bluntness overnight depending on the water BUT using a special pen you can apply protective quick drying rubbery solution to a resharpened tip to keep it sharper for longer, or if not but of vaseline helps....great for keeping floater line up too!!
😊
Much appreciated for your knowledge...keep it up
Thanks Carl for another great video loving them❤️
You're welcome, thank you mate :)
Great advice Carl, even the most avid angler tends to forget the basics at times. GREAT ON YOU FOR THE TIPS.
Thanks Craig, glad to hear it helped. Yesss always good to go back to basics 👍
Unreal demonstration on the moistening of knots! Super super clear. Miss the carp tutorials waiting for the next one thank you
Thanks!
I was checking your channel every day for a post and I got the right time yay 🎉
Thanks for the good tips Carl. Last year did not go well for carp. I plan to change that this year. Tight lines
You're welcome :) Good luck! All the best with your fishing this year Rob!
Grazie ....consigli sempre utili e pratici👍
Very true and often overlooked, just like me leaving the bail arm closed when casting. Happens at least once a session 🤣🤣
This will help thanks Carl
Great video lovely looking fish you caught well done keep the good work up Carl
Thanks Finlay! 👍
Love your videos strait to the point no bull 👌 very helpful tips Im leaning so much from your videos 👍
Great to hear that! Appreciate it :)
Brilliant video great Advice for young people who fish following this channel for years keep up the great work your brother is spot on as well 👍
Thanks Mark! Appreciate it 👍
Excellent video Carl, I like the tips on hooks in particular
Cheers Damien. Glad you found it helpful!
Great video Carl!! Thanks!
Nice one mate 👍
All very good information Alex ,all of what you say is very important. Well done 👍
Thanks Trevor! 👍
Another information winner in my view like all of your videos keep it up they keep me updated until I can get back out on the bank Crazy Carper 64 years old and still Carp crazy that's how I got my AKA .
It amazes me how today people can see one video online, and have knowledge older generations took years to figure out. Basics are important part you dont skip! I would add just prebaiting. Seen lots of young anglers go fishing with only 1 kg groundbait and 1kg of particles on a natural venues! They dont have 1 bite. Fish are like pigs, you need to feed them regulary.
These tutorials never fail to fill me full of knowledge thanks carl
Happy to hear that, you're welcome Cory :)
Would love a days fishing with you
This is a really good video, well done!
Cheers Sven!
Really helpfull mate!
Glad it helped!
What another amazing video keep doing the amazing work nice to see you catch a winter carp 🐟❤️👍
Cheers mate! :) All the best
👍
There's lots of little things that make a big difference, and that's something a lot of magazines and youtube channels fail to communicate well. Advertising the latest liquid, wonder bait, or super rig needing multiple components makes money but can do the customer a disservice in the end when they copy the magazine's article approach without having the knowledge to know when to apply that approach. I've made that mistake before, and probably will again.
Alex and yourself, along with the other people you've brought with you on the journey, have created a fantastic resource in both knowledge and inspiration. A friend is taking me pike fishing tomorrow, fingers crossed I'll have something interesting to share.
Ah wow thank you mate, really appreciate this. Means a lot to create this resource and hear how it helping people find and progress a passion. How did you do with the pike fishing?!
You're welcome. The pike beat us this time, but we caught a few hours of sunshine and fresh air. There's always another day to fish!
Exactly, always next time! Good to be out there regardless :)
Hey man you've got a good pace on distributing information. As well as you good movement and proper attention to the camera with good body language. Your videos are mint.
Cheers Brandon, I appreciate that feedback :)
Hey Carl, thank you for your videos they have definitely helped me with starting fishing and actually catching. Could you possibly do a video on bite alarms and when to strike, liners and even sensitivity settings (I believe that changes with how far out you fish but I am not sure lol) .
Thanks so much, glad they have helped you! I haven't yet, but will look into this! :)
@@fishingtutorials Nice 1, thanks :)
np!
Oh no I nearly always forget to check my balanced pop ups! I’ll now be hearing you tutting in my ear saying. “Patrick check it’s balanced” 😊😅
It really needs to be stated that sharpening a hook to where its flat and pointed only acts a double sided knife and once a fish is hooked the side to side movement is absolutely slicing and causing so much damage to the fishes' mouth.
love your videos. would love to fish with you
Great video regarding the pop up i do exactly the same so from my next session i will add a split shot and some putty see if i habe any more success thank you
Glad to hear! You're welcome!
Very helpful
Glad to hear that :)
terimakasih
Nice Common.
What hook file did you use ?
is it really winter fishing, I was out walking on 20 cm of ice. love your vedios❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Really useful
Glad it helped!
Nice vid
I believe an over sharpened hook can be damaged when it hits the waters surface upon entering from a cast . I honestly do after using Kamakura in the past .
hi Carl im just asking if bobbins are really needed as i dont have any and cant really afford any do i need them to carp fish?
I do the 5 blood knot. Never weted it. You do have to wet join two lines together.. Will try the 7 blood knot whith pile
Oi oi Carl! Smashing video mate
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it
What a great video
Glad you enjoyed it, cheers!
Hi Carl,
Love the channel. Always full of those nuggets of knowledge.
What chair are you perched on? If anyone else recognises it please let me know.
Thanks in advance, hopefully.
Hi Chris, it's a Korda Compac Low Fishing Chair. Quite nice and they pack down sooo much smaller than normal chairs.
Thanks Carl!
You're welcome!
I've started carp fishing on 3th of january,2023 And i have been really struggling, Haven't caught one yet i've tried corn and bread, tried a little medium stocked pond,I would really like some advice
hey carl went carp fishing with my whip got extremely unlucky and lucky I went with 4 whip rigs and left home with 4 whip rig holders, can you make a video about making whip/pole rigs with correct length, line strength etc
Good suggestion! Will see what I can do :)
Kamakura are great hooks but I dread reeling them in as I can almost guarantee the point will get bent. So I agree 100% if you are constantly casting in and out bagging up they really aren’t good for that purpose.
They make you anxious that they have been damaged at some point and that’s why your not catching .. well I’m my over active mind they do 😣
Love winter angling…
Smashed my PB in the depths of January a few years ago, I was even fortunate enough to have a very good friend of mine with me (just randomly turned up without notice that morning) to enjoy the moment…
Amazing mate! That’s what we go for! :)
We need more fishing during winter on rivers videos :D
will see what I can do!
@@fishingtutorials thanks for your consideration 😀 We have frozen Ponds\lakes etc So We need go fishing on rivers. Thats entirely different experience from lakes. A way harder in my opinion. I think that lots of people would likes to see your approach, me perticulary 😇
Great super titps, like in all videos. Thanks a lot for sharing with knowledge.
You're welcome, happy you find them helpful :)
What reel and rod combo are you using in the video?
I'm using a Daiwa Crosscast 10ft 3lb Testcurve rod with a Daiwa GS4000 reel :)
@@fishingtutorials What size lakes do you use these on and for what size carp?
Also what lbs line?
Hi! Can you please tell me what line you use at min 3:20 ?
That is a coated braid hooklink called Dark Matter (made by Korda)
Tips tips!
Hi Cal, I know its not relevant to this videos but what skimmer did you use on your koi pond?
It's an Oase Profiskim Wall :)
@@fishingtutorials legend thank you mate wanted to know for my pond build, I’m going up to Kitsu koi soon to buy koi, are you going anytime soon??
Great!! No I won't be up there anytime soon, enjoy!
@@fishingtutorials will do mate, will try show you some of the koi I buy
Could of done with that spiltshot video 3 sessions ago after trying wafters on a hairrig and blanking 3 sessions 😂😂😂 bloody fishing 🤣
Hahah typical! :)
The thumbnail implies NOT to sharpen hooks, that’s what I thought u were gonna say 😆
Only carp!! 🙌🍻
You should do a video with mat Hayes
I don't no if you have but what about a revue on say rods under a 50 and a hundred for people on a budget
You have changed how I catch carp
Happy to hear that!
❤hi
Carl
Hi!
Great tips, don’t forget… don’t cut the like with your teeth 🤣
School boy errors Alex
First like
Please can we go fishing together
Wide gape b means barbless right?😁🤨🤨🧐🧐
Carl, did I see you biting the line. Dont do it unless you want some big dental problems.
Oops sorry!
Arma Points hooks are pretty bad.
Kamakura are great hooks for people that are actually doing REAL fishing, not this "let's go to a pond that is STOCKED with fish and pretend that we are fisherman" crap. Fishing is about reading the water, finding the fish, and then trying to outsmart it. Nothing personal here but those tiny lakes with STOCKED fish is not proper fishing. It's a great place to take your kids to and nothing more.
