I used to be a huge reader (with physical books) but haven’t been able to focus long enough to finish a book in a few years. Audiobooks are now my go to! Love them! Perfect for diamond painting and my stupidly long daily commute 😩 🐲🐉
Hi Katie! 🐉 Currently working on some Paint Gem kit pieces from the Black Magic Edition while I wait for the arrival of my DAC kit Year of the Dragon from this morning's releases. I mentioned it in a previous video but as I'm just getting back into diamond painting after a very long hiatus, your videos have helped me improve my technique (I'm multiplacing! Never did that before!) and spending way too much money on my own Small Shop Hauls. That said, you have also inspired me to work on my own side hustle where I could make some money doing what I love and creating beautiful things, a possible UA-cam channel, and spending more time with my husband and family. The last several years have been devoted strictly to work and I was really doing damage to my body pulling 70 hour work weeks. You inspire me to put my focus back on myself for a while and I thank you for it! Have a beautiful week!
Hi Katie. To answer one of your questions, I used to prefer physical books, then my library got too big and I started reading books on my Kindle. Since I started diamond painting, however, I have gotten into audio books. That way I can diamond paint at the same time. Thanks again for your wip and chats. I look forward to them.🐉🐲

I finally finished Dashshund Puppy. Only took six months. I only keep the AB310, and rhinestones. Getting my brain ready to kit up and start Golden Cocker Spaniel by Peggy Collins.
Because of my Sciatica I will probably have stand to all the Diamond painting standing up.
I have several Dragon DPs. I even bought a Dragon bracelet, Red Dragon T-shirt. I don't believed I received. My caregiver made me return what I got. She took my Credit cards. Because I am ADHD, I have a habit of doing things impulsively. So I purchased over a 100 Diamond paintings from DAC, and other companies.
My caregiver has gone over the top regarding my spending. She now checks the recycle bin to make certain I have not purchased any Diamond paintings. She even checked house close my ATS is to my house. Because she will ask me where did I go? I remind her, we will in Southern California. I am the one on Lexapro and my caregiver needs to be on Lithium.

Thanks once again for another great talk. I’m trying to finish a fishing retreat sometime next week before I travel to care for my parents. Tapping therapy! I can’t say enough good things about how it helped me. I think all of those energy therapy techniques are highly effective. I never can remember the acronym… bah. Anyway, it resets the brain and negative emotions related to events. I knew it helped me when I no longer felt upset recalling past events. I hope it helps you just as much! 🐲
Ebooks and audiobooks all the way for me, with the occasional physical book for graphic novel collection. I even have my phone do text to speech on ebooks I'm reading so I can swap between reading it myself in bed or listening while I diamond paint. 🥰🐲
🐉 I have been doing most of my reading digitally. I just had hand surgery so I’m still finding it hard to hold a book. I like audio books but I don’t have a reliable Bluetooth to listen to them. DAC sideswiped me with the dragons today. I got two. I joined a FB group called for the love of dragons and the dragon art has been so gorgeous. Most of it is AI created with human enhancement which has its own troubles, but it is lovely. I particularly have enjoyed the imagining of them as companions for the elderly. Some have been such sweet images and I’ve wished they were dps. Have a great day!

I love collecting books in physical form because they're so pretty and that SMELL, you just can't beat it! But I almost never read physical books anymore, lol. I prefer to listen to audiobooks so I can diamond paint too! So jelly of your advance copy of CC3...counting down the hours until midnight, when I hope my audiobook preorder gets deposited into my Audible library! 🐉

🐲I love all types of books but have been on an audiobook kick. I did get sucked into a physical book this weekend and stayed up way too late to finish it. I also had a sick kiddo this weekend and haven’t left the house for three days caring for him. Enjoyed catching up with you tonight!
I've been watching you for like a few weeks now and I'm about to start diamond painting and I love watching your videos your voice is so relaxing your stash is wow but I'm watching you from upper east Tennessee close to bean station and Morristown area like 1 or 2 hours from Knoxville and your videos have helped me tremendously with my anxiety and being home by myself but your videos keep me distracted and I enjoy your videos so much so thank you and also I love the darker art and I love dragons and wolves

Hi from Birmingham U.K. love listening to your Monday vids while you diamond paint I either diamond paint or my other love crochet, I’m like you I can never do the housework while my husband is around, I do prefer a physical book but slowly starting to listen to some audio books but it’s just not the same experience. 🏴
Always an actual book for me. Although with so much diamond painting lately I am tempted to try audiobooks. And thank you for sharing about summer with the masters!!!! This will be my first year participating and I have been holding my ridiculously overpriced diamond dotz kit just for this event! Haha! 🐉
DAC has really stepped their game up when it comes to their art lately. There have been so many that I love week after week. My pocket book has been hurting 😂

I do a mix of reading from actual books and on Kindle. I've read one book as an audio book and that was a memoir. I think you have mentioned something like this before but I need to read through the book slowly or slower than most people in order for me to fully grasp everything that is going on. I sometimes go back over and read something cause I definitely didn't grasp it at all. I hope Connor feels better and you have a great week! 🐲
Hey Katie! Unfortunately, school messed up my love for books. Last November I started using Audible and got through my first book in about 10 years. I listened while I diamond painted! It went great so I'm hooked now! COTAR is next up for me cuz you talked so highly of it, I'm intrigued!!!

Thank you for the WIP and chat, Katie! I am working on Huggable, an Amazon Spangler, so I can get him done for January. Just started but he is tiny so I should be done quickly. I'm sorry to hear the kids are not feeling well, hope they feel better quickly! I used to be a huge book reader but I haven't read anything in about a year. I have only ever listened to 1 audio book, but I might try it out and see if i can follow without actually reading it. Hope you have a great week! 🐲🐉

I am currently reading neon gods, this life and the next, and twisted games. I listening to neon gods I definitely prefer audiobooks but i got a kindle and it feels so much easier to consume a book that way compared to a physical book or on the computer or phone. Love audiobooks when I Diamond paint
I don’t get enough time to read physical books these days - I’ve been completing post grad and law = a lot of reading. So I’ve been listening to audiobooks while I diamond paint. I cannot wait to have the time to read a physical book (novel) again though! 🐉
I am wirh you, there will be no laziness and video gaming while I am cleaning, doing house projects, etc. Everyone who isn't helping must leave. My mom's rule that became mine. I love my audiobooks, I also love that I can use the library to borrow most of them. Thanks for the WIP and chat. 🐲🐉
Loved this WIP and chat! I much prefer reading the physical or ebook because I find that I get too distracted listening to the audiobook. I'm currently reading Crescent City 1, so trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible lol 🐉
Hi Katie, I prefer physical books. I did the kindle a bit but just prefer turning physical pages. I listen to you while I’m painting and then usually turn on music. I’m not into the dragons but love seeing them and the beauty through your eyes. Who knows, you just might talk in into one! 🐉🐉
Hi Katie. I also used to only read physical books. I was a purist so to speak and would not even consider listening to someone’s unknown voice paint the pictures of the story in my head for me. However, I have taken to listening to some Audiobooks - I find that I only like fiction books cuz I don’t have to super concentrate as hard as on a non fiction book - because I can diamond paint while I’m listening. I listened to The Fourth Wing and Iron Flame on audiobook formats and it was fine. 🐉 ❤

Hope little one gets better SOON 🤧 I made a new year resolution to finish 25 unlicensed that I already had before I can buy anymore. They are small so hopefully they will go away soon. I plan to just buy licensed in the future
I'm currently working on Phases by Yuumei Art, and was actually fighting with my ABs (141) at the same point you mentioned it in your video! 😂 🐲 🀄 I love a physical book, but with diamond painting and crochet selfishly requiring two hands, I tend to rely more on audio books these days - but nothing beats holding a new hardback book and getting lost in it 😌 Ps, I love that you still get distracted by your hubby. I know that wasn't the point you were making, but I still think it's really cute 🥰 (ps again! I find playing some of my fave upbeat tunes helps me get things like cleaning done and almost takes the edge off. ALMOST! 😝)

I’m an avid reader. However, I lightly dabble in fantasy. I haven’t read any of Sarah J Mass books, yet. 😮. I’m starting to feel like I should read one. Lol.
We get super excited when books come out earlier than the release date. It’s happened at Target, etc. It’s legit to go ahead and buy it.

I have one with an odd hand, but it wasn’t a dragon. I’ve decided to try to fix it myself when I do the project.
🐉 I'm currently working on the phoenix painting you mentioned - Rebirth Awaits by Ravynne Phelan. Getting close to the half way point. DAC got me today with Fire & Ice by Anne Stokes.
🐲 at this time of my life I prefer a Audiobooks because I feel I can listen to the book and do something else at the same time thereby being more productive. However I still like the look and feel of physical books better. I like the way they look on a bookshelf. But the Audiobooks also help me consume more stories because as I age it’s getting harder on my eyes to read.
I had some great memories with meeting my favorite people in conventions. I would definitely have your diamond painting signed. The meet and greets are the best time to do them. I had Kurtis Rykovich from Dreamer Designs sign my favorite dp from him. I was over the moon!! Took a picture with him at the Las Vegas Comic Con with my dp. Also a meet and greet with Stan Lee. That was his last year at Las Vegas Comic Con. A year later getting passed away. Awesome core memory indeed. Hope you have fun at your convention!!

I feel the same way about house cleaning, I get a lot more done when hubby isn’t home. As women we divide our attention to husbands and kids. Cleaning gets done faster when my full attention is focused on the task. 🐲

Hi Katie, thank you for another great WIP n chat. I am recovering from having covid and trying to catch up on 3 weeks of WIP n chats and other UA-cam content. Went on a cruise and when my husband and I got home he came down with Covid and then of course the day he went back to work I fell ill for a week 🥺 I am so excited about The First Dragon canvas. I think it’s obvious when someone is feigning excitement vs genuinely being excited so don’t feel bad about being excited over the kits that you love. It’s understandable because so many kits have been amazing. It’s been a while since I last read anything fictional but when I do I prefer physical books. Although I can definitely see how audiobooks would work great while diamond painting. I watch a lot of different channels on UA-cam while I work on my paintings. 🐲
🐉I have the same problem as you. I want to read more my physical book, but I also want to diamond paint. I even tried putting my e-reader beside me while I diamond paint. And I can tell you, it’s not productive 🤦♀️😂!

Before kids I was exclusive physical book. After kids audiobook 100%. The second I sit down my eyes close 😅

I prefer a physical book over an audible book, i feel with audio books i zone out and end up scrolling on my phone

I’ve actually never listened to an audiobook… I have been meaning to, but just end up listening to UA-cam or TikTok while I’m diamond painting.

This kit was my number 3 on dragon kits from this release...but you just moved it up to number 2.
There is a really cute Christmas canvas of a young girl and a cat that would be perfect for my apartment front door. The colours are vibrant and cheery. Her hair is up in a pony tail.... BUT the end of the ponytail, which sits on top of her head... has a flat top. Natural hair doesn't sit that way. I just couldn't unsee that... and it ruined the canvas for me. Thankfully I saw it before I purchased it. I'm sure I could have altered it if I wanted, but it is round drills and I wasn't sure how it would look with the canvas showing behind the drills.
I'm the same with a good book... wishing I could read and diamond paint at the same time. I love physical books... the touch, the smell, flipping pages. I can't get used to paying attention to audio books... which is funny because I do fine with crime podcasts.

I'm so happy you got book 3! Wow, those are huge. I'm a reader myself, but I prefer physical or Kindle books to audiobooks. For some reason if I put an audiobook on while I diamond paint or do anything else, I miss huge chunks of stuff and have to continually 'rewind' to get it. I need to just listen to an audiobook and not do anything else in order to get all the info. I hope both boys feel better soon! 🐲🐉

To answer your question about noticing something about a painting. I have one that all I can see is buck teeth and pug nose!!! I’m not gonna be able to do it unless I can figure out a way to fix it unfortunately 😢

I may do that at some point, but I find when I'm diamond painting I listen to UA-cam creators so there's no time left for an audiobook. There are so many DP creators now that there is never enough time to listen to them all. Lol. Thanks for your suggestion though. Much appreciated.@@loiscassels8966 💜
So I’m almost done with the ACOTAR series and am going to do TOG next. However, I think I’m going to buy all the CC books just to have them for later lol. I totally get the strong sense of equity and justice. I am very much the same way and sometimes find it difficult to use my filter lol 😂🐲
I am a big reader and almost always prefer to read over audio. The only exception are autobiographies that are narrated by the author such as Born a Crime by Trevor Noah and “Finding Me” by Viola Davis. We are split on this even in my book club! That is a cool painting you are working on but I’ve got to say, I think it is a scary image! I find its claws really big and creepy 🐉
Currently pausing the video to answer your question LOL but I prefer audiobooks! The way my brain works I feel that I get through audiobooks much faster (not that it’s about how fast you can get through a book), but I find that I can diamond paint/multitask another way while I listen and I also find myself talking less “phone breaks” while audiobook listening than I do physically reading!

I prefer audiobooks. But I also buy the physical book. By the way you will not get into any trouble for buying that book earlier than it’s release date. It is the stores responsibility. They put it out early so it is available to buy. (I worked in retail).🐉🐲

I’m so tired of ABs honestly 😅 the wax that comes with the kits doesn’t pick them up. Alien putty is the first non kit stuff I’m trying and it just pulls right out of the pen, dirty or not. Give me fairy dust!
