I lost my dog Bulochka two months ago. That was so painful and devastating for me. I am still having very hard time with it. I miss her SO much. Pets are like our angels; all they do is bring joy and warmth to our home
Well now, Desi has no idea yet that he has won the doggie lottery. His invitation into your heart, your home and your cinematic world will replace all the sadness stored in his memory banks. And, the lucky boy is about to become a star. Sending him and you the biggest hugs 🤗❤️🎉🐶💕. Now Cooper can go back to romping at the Rainbow bridge, knowing full well you're taken care of. I watched this video again to meet Desi. It's wonderful to see how he has progressed with your love and attention. He was meant to be your dog! Made me cry, so many sweet dogs have so much love to give. Blessings to you both.

I did the same thing when I got my cat from the shelter. He was the one no one wanted but for the next 8 years, he was my best friend and loved me even more I think for being that one person who stopped and gave him a loving home. They say cats are not very friendly animals and like to just lay around. Well not my Hunter! He slept with me, ran to the door when I came home, comforted me, and always wanted to be near me. Good for you Susan! Those are the ones who need us most :) ❤️ I think Desi will LOVE being home with you. He’s a lucky boy!

Desi is beyond cute!! Oh my gosh, his face, his curly tail, and his underbite!!! I had a dog with an underbite and my son asked his friend, aren't you going to pet her? The friend said, "She looks like she is snarling, will she bite me!" We laughed and laughed. Lucy was my special little girl, didn't think I could ever love another dog like her, but then I rescued Sophie, and I'm loving her too. You are right we don't replace our dogs, we add another one to our hearts!! ❤️🐶🐶

Welcome home Desi. I adopted my Coco-Lily because no one wanted her at the shelter. She had been abused and 4 years later she still doesn't know how to play with a toy. I just love her every day. Cooper knew you needed Desi and Desi needed you.

I didn't know you had a video about your and Desi's first moments together. I have to say, by the end of the video, I had tears in my eyes. I used to volunteer at a no kill animal shelter.

he is the cutest doggie ever//this is what i need/i lost my hubby then a love of my life that i knew since he was 17 I was 22/we got together years later/17years ago/then he died 3years ago/rest his soul//i miss him so very much//its all over and i know he is not ever coming back/now i just want my tiny home and a teacup pup/lol/i do not care of there condition/boy would be nice or girl/my friend has a teacup pup that she trained in a kitty litter box/i saw cats that are bigger then her dog/truth//

Oh my goodness, he looks like my little Winn Dixie! Thank you for opening your heart and home to a needy soul. I have 3 rescues and one of them is a senior who came to me at 12. I rescued my second one, two weeks after losing my beautiful Papillon. I felt guilty fo adopting Lucy so soon, but I couldn’t stand the sad energy in my house. You will feel the depth of what you’ve done here in some time from now. It’s bigger than you can imagine. Cooper is very proud!

I love walking through thrift shops looking at all the old memories and beautiful things. I live beautiful things. Anything that looks beautiful. People, cars, clothes, goods, furniture, houses, everything that's beautiful, gardens, you get the drift.

I had to go back and find the story about Desi. I wasn’t watching you back then . I also adopted a dog that same year and he was the best. He also had not been treated well. I lost him last year,so I only had him for four years. I’m still not ready for another dog, but I sure like seeing your little Desi and I love how you got him. My boy kind of came to me without looking and without any plans I took him home from the shelter. I too think maybe our previous pup put him in front of me to see. I know the joy your guy gives you. Give Desi an extra hug from me. 😊
Oh my goodness, Susan, your opening segment was so beautiful. When the lyric said, "Let's talk about love" and little Desi burst into frame and ran down the hall - I cried. He just radiates something very special. It's like he knows he's where he's meant to be. Even though his first four years haven't been the loving start he (and every single dog) deserves, you can see he has a very open heart and a huge capacity for love - just by the way he responds to you. Hello Susan and Desi. I have been watching your more recent vlogs and love seeing Desi each time. Now that I have seen his first video his transformation to the happy dog that he now is so obvious. I too have had several rescue dogs and their love and loyalty is just beautiful. Yes they surely do rescue us. Much love to you both. ❤️

Desi was the gift of the day. Sadly many overlooked him but you could see what so many were not looking for. These dogs are the real gift. We too have always rescued. The most damaged dogs end of being the biggest gift. He sure seems to know where he fits and most important he is loved.
Rescue is not just the pet but so many rescue the owners. Thank you for giving desi another chance at life one like he has never seen. He is your boy.

Welcome Desi! Congrats Susan. I think my sweet Sedona had something to do with me finding my greyhound, Scarlett also. I adopted her about 3 weeks ago and she has made me and my 5 year old greyhound very happy. My 5 year old greyhound, Story, had never played in her life as she lived with my then 14 year old pharaoh hound until my pharoah hound died last month. Now Story plays with toys and loves to run with Scarlett around the house like two little nuts. Scarlett has brought such joy to our lives, but will never replace my sweet Sedona. Enjoy your sweet Desi.
Diane 2003 I just submitted an application for a greyhound adoption! This will be my first adoption ever. But I don’t have a fenced yard..I live in a condo so they may deny my application. I’ve only heard great things about greyhounds..I’m excited. :-)
Congrats Deb! Living in a condo shouldn't be a problem. They just need lots of exercise - lots of walking. My two are just wonderful - be patient with your dog at first - it only wants to be with you constantly. They have had rough lives and some of them have issues - Scarlett didn't know how to climb stairs when I got her but does now. She sleeps by my bed every night (Story sleeps with me). Never ever let your dog off the leash or it will disappear. Learn if your dog is cat friendly - Scarlett isn't and almost got the cat next door. (The cat stays a safe distance now) Good luck!

Over the years I have had many pets pass on. Some feel there needs to be an 'appropriate mourning period' before you get a new pet. I don't believe that.
Each and every pet that we have owned has a special place in our heart forever and when they must leave us and go to the Rainbow Bridge, there are so many animals that need love and a home RIGHT NOW, and if you can offer that, and the right fit comes along, then it's the right thing to do.
I once heard that human beings who adopt animals have the biggest hearts - because when you adopt a pet, you are pretty much guaranteed that you will outlive the pet and you will have to endure the heartbreak of their passing - yet we adopt anyway. Big, loving, heart.

Bless you for adopting an adult shelter dog. We take in elderly rescue Rotties and my feeling is that by adopting another after one passes is the best way to honor them. I honor my beloved by continually adopting as I believe that is what he would want.

I love the way you share your life on youtube, it gives me new life aspects for myself, and inspires me totally. Your new little Desi is such a right desition, she is the new light for your soul. Thank you Kay so much....I never tore down Cooper's bed.....and Desi lays there....he just drifts off and I swear I hear Cooper sigh. 14 years Cooper and I were so close....and Desi seems to have fit in so quickly....Cooper truly would have loved him....I didn't drive there that day to adopt a dog....but I just could not leave Desi there....I just couldn't....and now, I am so glad he has a forever home.

awww Susan, I respect you even more for rescuing the pup who didn't have anyone in line for him. Your kindness and love will transform him. He is adorable and it breaks my heart that he a hard life but he is on his way to a new life of happiness and love with you. Seeing him run along the corridor ...he knew he was home. OMG, I love the Desi story! I was so moved that I showed that part of your video to my husband and he was so touched too. We had a terrier-mix rescue girl who I loved so completely. She had such a healing influence in my life. She loved me unconditionally and was so protective and sensitive to my moods. No one wanted to adopt Maleah either and she had been on the streets with her puppies. People adopted all of her babies, but not her. I miss her so, but I am so glad to have had her.
