Thanks man! Mine was for MFC-J491DW and the resetter came with absolutely no instructions other than to tell you to just use resetter to reset it... lol. I was able to reset two cartridges in a few seconds and now my printer says that they are FULL like it is supposed to... Thanks again!!
Will there ever be a reset device for the brother laser tn760 cartridge chips? Plenty of aftermarket chips using a battery.. which assumes they were PROGRAMMED at some point and are flashable, but for only ONE use?!?
Please give me your printer name/brand/model numbers and i'd see what I can find for you, if they have a solution for your print, or else, you might want to consider upgrading - thanks.
@@TheKingofHowTos_TKHT the 700 brother series have chips on them and I don’t think any reader can reset them. You can only disable the printer to view cartridge error message
Hi, looks like im the first one :)... which printer you suggest for home use, which has a chip cartridge? so my cartridge refill goes down. I prefer a used printer
I use Brother MFC-J491DW and it is loaded with WIFI, print, scan, and it even prints double-sided on a single feed without you having to manually reset papers... Check on Amazon for refill inks and refill cartridges, and of-course, the resetter and that can be pricey as my resetter alone cost around $38+, but well worth it...
It will stop working, printer doesn't remember past cartridges, it just reads the present one and writes on it once its used up, that's why you need a chip resetter
@@xruud24 I have never tried removing the chip with the fear of destroying the cartridge. You can refill and use it without the chip resetter and it will work fine, it will not show ink levels though.
Bonjour, j'ai une imprimante MFC-J5345-DW, elle a une petite puce. Mais je ne trouve pas de ''puce resetter'' pour ses cartouches: LC422 Que faire ? Merci :)
@@PDXadrenaline I believe that brother mfc-j1010dw so new in markets and you can't found aftermarket stuff for it, that's what all companies say and will take some time to make it
There is no battery in the chip, the chip resetter has battery which has lasted so far over 3 years, once it dies, will replace the resetter as battery doesn't seem accessible
No need for an ink resetter, just cover the ink level display with a black tap and the printer will think your ink is full :) You are welcome, everyone! Never buy a new ink cartridge from the printer companies again!
WHAAAAAAAT 😱😱😱😱😱 Holy shit man, I don't know how to thank you!!! For years I have been buying new chips because I thought that the printer only calculates how much ink is left, and when it says that a cartridge is empty (even in it is not), then it won't accept the same chip, even if the cartridge is full. I tried the tape technique on my MFC J5330, and it works!!!
Damn I wish I had done more research before buying this Brother MFC J1010DW, it uses cartridges that can't be refilled from what I can tell and its past the return period...
Thank you and greetings from Phoenix Arizona
Most welcome

How did you buy the chip resetter?
Excellent technique. Thanks for sharing 👍
My pleasure!
@@akhaqanWhich brand of ink do you recommend for Brother printer?
@@jmm1174 They are all the same, find the cheapest on ebay and that should suffice

Great.
Can't find resetter for lc-401.
Can I used any Brother resetter?

Not sure, no harm in trying though
Did you try it with the lc-401?
Where can You purchase the chip Resetter? Do they make these Bro the Brother TN-730/760/770 ones?
Amazon or any such similar online retailer has 'em... They can be pretty pricey, but worth it...

@The King of How To's the ink jet reset is an easy one to get, the brother toner tn700’s I haven’t found anything to prove it can

I got brother MFC-J1010DW inkjet. It uses piezoelectric print head, any chip reset for it?
I can't find any where to reset LC 401 cartridges any help?
Thank you
this resetter is compatible just with original Brother cartridge or can be done with not original one ....Tx
Not sure, but I think it should work
So the inks will work but won’t tell you when it low even if you don’t reset the chip?
You will not get the updated ink level indication unless you reset the chip, the inks will work in any case
@@akhaqanSo is it actually mandatory that you reset the chip?
Cant u just take the chip off? And use it? And how many previous chips (cartridges) does it remember?

Its a good hack but the resetter lets you know the true level, just like the original cartridge.

That's why now many printers come with ink tubs that are refillable, power to the consumer
