  • I DO NOT ENCOURAGE HANDLING TARANTULAS IN ANYWAY.
    This is a demonstration of how I do my handling. I was fully prepared to face the worst consequences.
    If you decide to handle a Tarantula, you are doing it at your own risk! If anything goes wrong, you cannot blame anyone/anything but yourself.

    im really surprised that tarantula didnt get pissed off with you constantly poking it with a stick and putting a cup over it.

    I now have broadband. A 100MB HD vid takes around an hour or so. My prevous connection wouldn't even manage to finish a 10MB file. The connection kept on getting cut off.

    I have a mature A-Geniculata about 8", I skip the deli cup procedure and coax her onto my hand in the enclosure. I have never been bit but she LOVES to kick hairs at me. I handle her quite often and she is more "conditioned" to it now compared to when she was a juvenile and always scuried away. Now after one napalm cloud attack of hair she is okay to pick up, just needs to get it out of her system everytime I assume. LOL. Alot of fun just don't forget to respect her, if she is upset, leave her.

    So much Stress for a Animal That just wants to live and not wanted to be picked out of her enclosure just because the dumb human wants it on his hand ...🤦🏻‍♂️

    @TheBlanco951 depending on the specie and care, from spiderling to death around 10 - 20 years for female and 1 - 5 years for male.

    She's going to molt so that's way she's not that aggressive

  • @testdasi
    @testdasi  14 років тому

    @otticobiondo You nean this one? She definitely wasn't in premolt. In fact, I never handle any T in clear premolt. It's not advisable to do handle when the T is in premolt because they are growing exoskeleton underneath the current skin which cause them to be (1) easily annoyed (so more likely to bite) and (2) more vulnerable to damage (perhaps just less vulnerable than a freshly molted one).

    Hi can I ask you a few Qs as you appear very knowledgeable about Ts.... I have an adult female A. Geniculata. I've always kept her substrate moist, and sprayed the sides every day. This is because before I bought her I read many websites who all said it has to be moist to make the enclosure a constant 65'+ humidity. With 4 inches of moist substrate I often wonder / worry that mould could start growing. Any advice would be very appreciated... thanks 👍🏼

      A. Geniculata doesn't mind if it's dry (preferring it even). I noticed she appeared to hate the moist surface, in fact preferring to stay far away from the water dish. So instead of misting lightly every other week, I simply stopped misting and everything was fine. Water dish is always full.

      testdasi - many thanks for the reply / advice - I appreciate you taking the time 👍🏼 😁
      I have dumped all the moist substrate, yes she always has fresh water every day...... she does actually seem happy, she's mooching around, moving stuff 😁
      Some online care sheets are basically mis-leading !!

    Hi, Testdasi. I have a female Brachypelma Boehmei (3 years old) and it is very aggressive so I'm afraid to handle it. I have noticed that yours is in pre-molt. In that case is easier to handle tarantulas ?
