Thanks Scott & hi from Scotland on a wet Sunday morning.Ive been pulling my hair out trying to work out how to change channels on my DT25 with my HX Stomp, so your video was super helpful 👍🏻
I’m not crazy about solid state amps, but I love playing my fx in stereo. The old vetTA II was stereo and for clean playing with stereo fx sounded great. I love the DT t0s but I had to get 2. Sadly but fortunately for me these things are so relatively cheap. I got a dt50 head for 227 on eBay great shape and I got a used dt50 212 combo which weighs a ton from guitar center. They shipped that across the country for 27.00 and I paid 400 for that amp. So I did pretty well I think. Thanks for your midi control section. Don’t have a helix yet those are cheap gotta save up. I’m an old retired guy on a fixed income. God plan for your retirement I thought I had enough but I was wrong !
I'm using my helix preamps and the dt 50 power amp in the loop so i can record and play silently. So cool. But using this with real speakers is really the way to go. Even better are with modeling speakers so you can use the speak cab sims and get different speaker options.
Man, I’m really trying to make this work. I tamed down some of the noise by putting the gate before and after effects loop. Integration with HX stomp is less than perfect. I want to be able to change presets while also changing Class A, Class A/ B, etc. Did you explore the option of disabling the preamp by setting DT25's preamp model to “no amp” (using DT Edit)? In my ideal world, the HD preamp’s are completely out of the equation. I want HX stomp to do all of the heavy lifting on the front end- from compression to gain to preamp
Good job with that. I sold My DT-25 (and HD500) when I bought the Helix. Mostly because it seemed so hard to get that shit o work. I kind of regret that now..
Just another suggestion, turn off the amps in helix the DT series amps are suppose to use the actual tube amp pre then. Idk I’m still reading just got these 2 amps 2 weeks ago.
I tried, but couldn’t get it to work. I talked to someone at L6, they said it was built to be compatible with the HD500, not the Helix. I loved the sound of it, but, not being able to control it with the Helix is why I got rid of it.
Hello. Thank you for this vidéo :-) I have amp dt25 and the pod hd500x. But helix.... wouawwww. I want this pedalfloor ! But i want connect helix with amp dt25 . Why don't you use the connection L6 link ? (Desole mon mon mauvais anglais. Je suis français ... ;-) Merci d'avance !!
How does the 2.8 helix firmware update effect things? I've read that it now has full integration between the helix and the dt25/50 but I'm not 100% sure what that means. I've got a 50 and thinking about getting a helix. I'm wanting something that I can basically have a couple banks of channels that I can just click a button and it switches to a different amp model and changes all the effects with one click (vs right now where I have to switch manually from one channel to another on my DT and then change the effects on my G Major to match) and also have access to a boatload of amps vs just the 4 that come on the DT.
is the 50 good? I have a helix and am about to get a dt to intergrate with, my goal is to bring full modeling and full tube dynamics into the same mega rig. What do you think? Not many people know about the dt amps, at all. Its a sleeper
HI Scott, Before I hook this up, i notice you are switching topology on the DT25. I assume there is latency when switching between A&B? I am struggling to use the DT50 that I have because to switch between a clean sound and a high gain sound changes the topology and creates a delay. any thoughts on how to make a seamless transition? I am using a latching AB switch currently and the amp just sits around not being used because it's not really usable to switch without a very noticeable delay.
To be honest, I gave up on trying to use the DT-25 with the Helix, I had horrible problems with channel switching and noise issues...I'm going back to using the Helix into a pair of JBL Eon 612's for rehearsals and gigs. I really wanted it to work out with the DT, but, it was not to be. Rock on, Scott.
Why does the Helix not honor the L6link or better yet improve upon it. The DT25 hosts The amp Models from the Pod HD 500 series. The Helix has all new amp modeling, supposedly better then HD500. Why are you using outdated amp modeling? I have the DT50 combo and the HD500x. I edit with a PC. I Just can't understand Why Line 6 Does not maintain L6 link concept. It make me loose faith in there companies long term vision. It's like they just do things and then abandon it.

Seriously why don’t you use the L6Link? I use 2 dt50s and the L6Link works great
I tried, but there was an issue between my Helix and the DT-25. I really liked the DT-25. But, I’ve moved on to other pieces of gear.
Mark, what did you do via L6link to control channels, topology/pentode/triode? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What I understand line 6 uses midi to control the DT serifs amps with the HD500x or the helix
Will there be a DT25 preset bundle? Using 4-cable method?
Good job with that. I sold My DT-25 (and HD500) when I bought the Helix. Mostly because it seemed so hard to get that shit o work. I kind of regret that now..
Can you share that Preset????

Rock on,
Scott.
Want to do this with my PRS amp, but it only has a 5 pin footswitch socket. Grrrrr.

Because of Yamaha perhaps..
