Great video!! going from stock to FOCAL YES its an upgrade but not the size, 6x9 can reproduce better bass response and if you search 6x9 specs these have a lower frequency response(they dig deeper for that lower bass frequency due to larger woofers) but 6.5 are less pricey, but if you have to pay more for making an install plate than i dont think its worth the money. DIY Take off door panel and plug and play 6x9/6x8s, installed pioneer 6x8s BB black Friday/week sale, HUGE DIFFERENCE!
If you look at a 6x9 to 6.5 speakers are made very differently, 6.9 you'll get bass from, 6.5 are for high quality sound 6.9 will cover mids lows and high, 6.5 cover mids and highs. If you have a subwoofer you don't need base in the doors. Right now I have 4 skat 6x9 in my doors I'm changing them all to 6.5s for a better sound it's awesome now but it's struggle taking bass outa 6.9 speakers tuning for the proper sound. I hear a audio truck with that only had 6.5s and 2 subs major difference in sound. Granted there were 8 6.5s but once the sub was turned off clear as day in quality
If I'm doing this from home what tools could I make do with to get this accomplished? Cause the audio shops in my area act like there to busy to do anything.
GP Rod and Customs yes because the bottom/back size on a 6x9 is not completely round. It’s an oval shape with different curves. That’s the best way I can explain it.

Is a 6x9 to 10” possible? It’s for the rear dash on a 2017 Ford fusion. Looking to have 2 10s instead of the 6x9s
