Like a wine 🍷 Getting finer with age! I had the privilege of of experiencing Hyde's live vocals during a "The Last Rockstars" concert this year (2023). It was amazing how clean and powerful he sounded! 🤩
Most rock singers' voice tend to go higher as they grow older due to voice damages. Hyde's voice is still amazing, he did change some of the ways he sings but his voice and energy are well maintained

The vocal range itself may change with age. The reason I mentioned low notes in particular is because I've noticed that with the rock artists I follow, low vocal condition seems to be more pronounced. Not trying to be judgy or looking for arguments, just expressing my appreciation for the amazing condition of Hyde's voice!

my favorite vocal era of his is 2011-2015, the 2Oth l'anniversary world tour and the Ajinomoto Stadium 2014 live have some stellar vocal performances (L'Arcasino too)
my favorite years were were '07-'09. I do really love '97 and 2014 tho. I literally saw him live last night in Los Angeles and believe me, he still is the one of the best singers alive and he doesn't ever miss a note tbh. its almost like you gotta watch him live to really be convinced he's still a damn good vocalist. I think when it comes to his own solo music , he's sounds so good. He's gotten better at screaming than when he was in vamps and even his anti album debut. But then when we hear him with L'arc, with how different his voice and singing style has changed since 2014, sometimes it kinda seems like it's not as good. like , he doesnt even sing "good luck my way" the same like he did during the 20th anniversary tour and thats relatively a "newer" larc song even tho its nearly 15 years old now. yeah when he was younger, he could scream and sing deep all day and sound incredible. but his technique wasn't as "correct" as it should've been. but he got away with it for a good two decades. by the 20th anniversary of L'arc, he almost had the perfect balance of his low voice, his more feminine voice, and screaming although his screaming by then wasn't as powerful Paris tour but still good! . its strange, his voice started out really deep in the 90's then went to a nasally kind of sound in the mid 90's then back to deep and was getting better and better until like 2010. then his voice changed so bright and then went a bit darker in 2019. he sings deeper now than he did 14 years ago but I know its still relatively bright compared to his prime years. Obviously smoking and Vamps had a major effect on him. But even now in 2024, at least in regards to his solo work, hes mastered the screaming and singing so well than I can definitely see him still doing this till he retires as on old man. I would loveee to see him try and sing like how he did during the Paris tour. the performances he gave for My Dear and Forbidden Lover are such lighting in a bottle than I want to see him try to capture that again. it seemed he kind of attempted going deep for Taste of Love and Sunadokei in the underground tour earlier this year. regardless, he is still as better singer than most other people in this world and watching him live is a whole different level of appreciation for how good he really is.
i really miss deep voice hyde. his vocal range during the late 90's to mid 00's was the best. still love his voice but the higher pitch isn't my favorite
on the contrary, i prefer his high pitch, his voice was perfect for me from 2011 to 2015, the perfect mix of high voice, softness, raspiness only when needed, and his signature low notes (if i remember correctly he took voice lessons circa 2011 cause his technique is very different). Since 2017 his voice has been hit & miss (i'm surprised there's no footage of 25th l'anniversary 2017 live in this video, maybe it's a conscious omission cause for me it's his "worst" - meaning less good - vocal performance ever), because of VAMPS his rasp seems less controled than before now, sometimes it comes up at parts that are not needed. the last rockstars 2023 song at the end of the video is particularly not nice to the ears because of that for example, it sounds pitchy but it might be because of the song's melody itself and not Hyde.
I also miss Hyde's deep voice a lot, but hey, we're talking about a 55-year-old man who is still giving his best voice to this day. Although his deep voice is not completely lost yet, check out the song Halloween Party or Tokoshie, he uses some of his lower range again.
2009 is the last year Hyde can rock his deep low and powerful voice. Vamps changed much of his voice due to many of Vamps songs requires constant screaming
