So, surfing as usual in Hawaii during ‘lockdown’. Is there room on the path down the cliff to keep two metres apart from those coming up with boards as well?
SurfCityHawaii Have they finished the path upgrade and made it wider? I’m back in NZ now, and the whole country is following the advice of the govt. and the NZ surfing federation to stay out of the water...surf cams show empty waves. I’m envious of Hawaiian surfers...haven’t been out for a month.
@@philbonham7827 . . . Your Prime Minister has become a bit of an international superstar doing the right things since the the Christchurch hate crime. A blanket banning of surfing seems a bit severe though, but understandable at the more popular spots like Piha.
SurfCityHawaii She certainly reacted relatively quickly once the advice came through. We go into level three soon, which means I will be able to swim and surf at my local beach. Piha would be crowded for sure, but where I live I can drive along Ninety Mile Beach and pick a spot with no one in sight.
@@philbonham7827 Lucky you. One of my favorite surf spots was Ahipara at the southern end of your Ninety Mile Beach. Mayor has now opened the parks on Oahu.
