  • Unitek USB 3.0 to IDE and SATA Converter External Hard Drive Adapter Kit for Universal 2.5/3.5 HDD/SSD Hard Drive Disk, One Touch Backup Function, Included 12V/2A Power Adapter
I purchased a USB 3.0 to IDE SATA adapter from Amazon Japan for 3399 Yen (approximately $24.30 USD).
I found the same product on Amazon USA, the Unitec USB 3.0 to IDE and SATA converter external hard drive adapter kit.
The adapter allows me to access data on my old IDE hard drives for review or deletion.
It supports simultaneous reading of up to three drives, with compatibility for various drive types.
The adapter offers one-click backup functionality, super-speed data transfer up to 5 gigabytes per second, and is plug-and-play compatible.
I demonstrate connecting and accessing data on my IDE and SATA hard drives successfully.
I conclude that the adapter is lightweight, portable, works well, and is recommended for accessing old hard drives.

Hard drive storage has come a long way. I remember when 40GB felt huge back in 2003. Now all my computers have multi-terabyte space.

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately this storage is not a real SSD drive! False advertising so I am sucker! I plan to do a video of me taking it apart essentially destroying it.

Assuming you bought the same one as mine, did you connect your HD disk to the right port?
Another possibility is that your hard disk does not work properly. I had the same problem with one of mine.

Yes exact one. It flashes on my computer and thats about it for me. I am able to use an external disc drive and listen to old cds. But as for getting files off old external hard drives. Impossible. I read that u should have Windows xp Installed

@@coleshill_production On the hard drive you may try creating a partition table and then format it so that it is usable. A completely blank hard drive without a partition table and a file system (which is created by formatting it) will not be able to have files read and written to it..
