Same
I am 13 and i started when i was 11 mabye 12 years old to drive rc
Yeah, there is some of us young ones in the hobby!
I’m 13 and I started when I was 7, now I have a x maxx and a couple of crawlers
I got my first RC car when I was nine I have only had to replace the motor once in the few years I've had it.
It's amazing that you save that since you were 10 years old really cool dude🤙🏁
I was given a 1983 tamiya super champ,& rebuildt the broken pieces..replaced all the bushing with bearings...it to fast for its scale..love the old school cars!! Godspeed Kevin..
I love the way vintage rcs look like these old tamiyas! Awesome kev!
My first RC car was a Tamiya Fox. It was probably around 1986 and I was really excited to get it. I built it and had a lot of fun with it. I remember once I got a much bigger pinion gear to make it faster and when I drove it with that pinion, the Tamiya connector melted. I put in a new connector and put the old pinion back on. After a while I stopped driving it and sold it at a yard sale. I still wish I would have kept it. About 15 years ago I downloaded wallpapers for my computer and I found a good picture of a Tamiya Fox. It brought back good memories so I got back in the RC hobby and still am today.
Kevin I know your feeling of wanting to keep it original. I have just received an old nitro buggy from my uncle which he has had since he was about ten so about 20 years ago. So I know what it is like keeping it original for it to keep its memories. Love what you do. Keep it up
When you look at it on the self it will be running in your memories
Nostalgic trip. Do it again Kevin. 🇬🇧🚗💨
Heart warming that u still have it
Finally i been waiting a year for this video
Best UA-cam Kevin talbot
Fortnite kiddo
My first RC was also a Tamiya. a Tamiya Thunder Stadium Truck. 2wd of course. No 4wd stadium trucks yet back then. I didnt do much to it, kept it stock cuzz i was saving up for the Team Associated RC10T. I did come back to the Tamiya few yrs after. All electronics upgrades and a thats when i realized i never upgraded the bearings, all bushings were still in there. Hahaha. Melted a couple bushings under a hand wound 10Turn motor. Lmao. Ahhhhh memories. I love tamiya. One of m favorite tamiya models was the first TT-01. Awesome touring car. Had it for 10+ yrs and sold it later on. I picked up a Lunchbox a few yrs ago. Now i see the re-release out and mini lunchbox, they are making mini versions of all the tamiya classics in 1/18 scale. Currently have my eye on the Tamiya Bigfoot and Grasshopper..... The one i wanted, and still do, is the JUGGERNAUT!!!. Remember that one? I wish i had my old ones. Sold them through the years to make the funds to put into next rc. As i got older, ive become more specific about which ones i sell and i keep no matter what.
Currently my oldest Rc is an 1/28th scale Gen 1 Xmods (the R34 skyline). Got it back in 2005. Since then have added 7 or 8 more xmods, sold a few, kept a few. I caught the Micro and Mini bug ever since. Lol. Largest scale Rc in my collection is 1/18th. Have a bunch of 1/18s, a 1/16 only nitro gas rc ive had for little over 10 yrs. Needs work. Hard to come by, and if resales are crazy prices. Its the Trinity 1/16 Nitro Buggy. Has a ridiculous 1/10 scale engine 2.5 big block. 2 speed trans. But havent touched nitro for over a decade. And then have a bunch of 1/28th, 1/24th, and my fav little one 1/32 Team Losi Micro T. No longer have any of the 1/10s or 1/8s. I am however looking into getting back into larger scale, hence your channel has become a regular goto for reviews and what nots.
My first car was a grass hopper that I bought from circus hobbies here in Las Vegas..
So many great memories I gave it to my friend and wish I had kept it..
Thank You for some great memories.👍
Yes I've been waiting for this video
That’s so cool to see you go down memory lane. When I was young I dreamed of having an RC10T. I saved up all my money and went to go buy it. My mom went with me and once I put down the money it was mine. However my mom talked me out of it because she said I couldn’t afford to fix it if it broke. So my mom had me get a camera instead that she eventually always used. I never got my dream car but I have purchased other rc cars since and I love the hobby. Best wishes to you!
Part 4... my old tamiya goes to the moon 😂😂
And I break it.
And I break it *crys*
when i was 9 i saw this channel and from then on my whole life has been based on the 3 cars i have and i never get tired of my rc's. also when i broke it this channel helped me to fix it whit all your amazing vids.i've been the hobby for 3 years.bye from dublin city!!! (Ireland)
Ye, kids now a days are only inside and play games. I also play games but I do go outside and drive rc and stunting with my moped
Thanks for the RC vids. Keep them coming. My dad bought me a Tamiya Grasshopper when I was 6. We would work on putting it together in the garage when he'd come home from work. Also helped him with his Tamiya Hornet and Big Bear.. Wow that was loooong ago..
I was literally just watching the part 1 today again lol.
By far, my fav video Kev! Makes me want to put my original rustler back together
I was literally wondering when you would make the next video on Saturday
Were you?
Really cool that your were able to revive your classic rc car

The Little Drummer Boy what how because you get a view for like
My first Hobby grade RC car was a Traxxas Rustler 2wd from 2002 when i was 10. It is now sitting among my RC car fleet 17 years later. It's my little time capsule.
My first ever rc car was a rustler gas and i made it alive and runs like a beast
This video makes me miss my Yokohama YZ10.
Got me thinking about a lot of the toys I've had through the years. Thanks for the reminder and memories.
love the videos. make an 8s rc boat it will be cool. When is the next give a way?
All growed up and still playing with toy cars and I think it's absolutely wonderful.
Kev you should get a stampede 2wd I’ve had mine for 10 years and it is a beast it is a very good basher
Stampedes are stupid
I am 11 now and I got my firs rc car when I turned 6 and it still works. It was a traxxas rustler.
Now I have 2 redcats and a 1/18 scale traxxas LaTrax VR46 and I also got my friends into the hobby and I can’t ever get tired of the hobby.
Kev then: If he breaks his RC, he is sad
Kev now: Let's see if we can break it
What a change over time!😂😂
Rock on dude!! Old-school is the way to go
i am 10 i hate xbox and that stuff and love rc car ( am saving up)

Not for me am avit if both but can only play with my FTX outlaw at my dads cuz he knows all the things u need to know to own a lipo battery orc car but I play ps4 to to keep in touch with old friends from primary school good times they were
Nostalgia, you can’t beat it. I remember my first rc, it was the Tamiya Hornet and was awesome 😎. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️
I loved the music and style of this video, I will allways love my first rc car. Those bring the best memories!!!
Hey kev, your videos inspired me to get an RC car so on my birthday last September, my parents got me a tamiya rising fighter and I am kind of like how you was needing to get things to repair as my dad drove into the side of my car (he has a tamiya grass hopper) and he snapped my suspicion and snapped my chassis in half but I spent 5 hours fixing it and I am still using it. It is so much fun. We need to spread this to everyone as they need to try this out
Kevin!, did we just see a tear in your eye. lol. nice sharing.
aaaah, you got to love the pop everytime you bang-accelerate on the old motors.
EDIT: btw my first rc car was a HPI mini recon, i have it for over 4 yrs now
Finally part 2 kev u are awsome!
My first rc was a thunder tiger sparrowhawk xt
but my new one is the e revo 😀😃
LOVE THIS. Love how you kept it as original as you possibly could. Awesome
Finally it’s not like I’ve been begging you for months
So awesome! I wish I had my first car. Tamiya grasshopper 1987🤣 been running RC’s on and off ever sense.... mostly on road touring car racing. just got a brand new X max 8S after watching this channel.....getting back into... and the smile is big!!!!!! 😜 Love your content!! Keep up the hard work!! 👍💪 🍻
This made me smile 🙂
She's alive!! And now you will witness the power of this fully operational manta ray young Skywalker!!
The manta ray was my first hobby rc car, learned allot from it. Got a 10t motor in it and completely changed it. Even went third at a race.
I agree with keeping it original. People always wonder why i don't put a new engine in my 64 mustang, well if i throw in a 5.0 with all the electronics, and after market wheels, then it's just a new mustang with an old body.
I am 13 and love rc’s thx kev for all the vids 👍
That is so cool. I'm 50 and just getting into the hobby.
Lovely vid mine was a Tamiya wild willy. Loved it built it with my dad. Happy memories and now have a re re wild willy for my youngest
Very nice to see your very first RC!
Tamiya Rough Rider was my first real RC car. Very interesting that you were more excited to have the RC car back in the day than getting a real Lambo as a adult.
My traxxas slash when I was like five I still have it running 8 years later. That was the first time that I was fixing stuff on my own
You can really tell this car was special to kev because he's driving it so slow and reserved! I totally understand the feeling bro, It took me forever to but my first hobby grade and I drove the thing to death just like you did.
Awesome to see some vintage rc.
wow! modes in motion, that was in my home town in Stevenage, sadly they went under about 10 years ago😢
Bout time you completed this! I’ve been waiting for MONTHS!
The Manta Ray is a classic. I feel like everyone had one. Awesome buggy for it's time.
Hey Kevin,
You are a lucky man...to have something left from your childhood.
My first decent rc was a second hand Mardave Mini Stock back in 1992...so miss the day's before LiPo this and Brushless that.
my first RC Car is the Traxxas slash 4x4 Brushed. I get it for my birthday in 7 DAYS!!! Love your channel! : )
The lambo sitting in the back 😍😍😍
Man that Brian Kinwald sticker brings back some memories... RIP Brian. Every month I would look forward to getting my tower hobbies catalog and RC car action subscription in the mail. 90s-2000s Brian was all over the magazines for trinity and losi world championship wins. Still have some BKBars on rc10 wheels lol 🤘 the good ole days.
You got me into the hobby of rc cars
@12:57 Mine was my first 1/8th Nitro. The Thunder Tiger Silver Fox Gold Edition. Bought a fully restored one a couple years ago (It's on my channel) and absolutely loved it!!! Had the Tamiya cars and they were great in the 80's (Hornet, Fox, Wild One, Frog) but you never forget your first Nitro.
Awesome Vid Kev... brought back a lot of memories for me too... that Acoms techniplus radio for one hahaha!!
Nice work!
I got into rc since im 8. Im 13 now and i still Love it
Finally part 2
my first hobby grade rc was the WL toys 12428, i got it almost 3 years ago and that is what got me into the hobby, now i have a vrx cobra which for me is such a cool rc car for the price
Probably the best video I've seen from you.
so cool keeping the memories alive... I just rebuilt my old (and first RC) Traxxas T-maxx 3.3 and chose to do an electric conversion allthough I allso kept as many original parts as possible... It now drives like a bat out of hell and is completely unsteerable because of old loosey goosey parts... But it is kinda excactly as I remember it from a decade ago! :D
This was my first hobby RC too! With the Futaba ATTACK stick am radio.
I got a tamiya manta ray too. it was past down to me from my uncle and it still works with the original battery.
its not my car but i have a car that is now 6 years old and its still working so fot me its nostalgia pure watching this video
NICE NICE NICE KEV. Thanks for sharing mate!
I love playing with RC cars
I've been looking forward to this video soooooo much! Good job Kev👍
That thing might be old but it still looks EPIC
Mannnn Shumacher tires and a Kinwald motor. Reminds me of my youth too. Fist car was a Hornet, then I slapped a Kinwald in my Hotshot. Worked for ages as a gas pumper when I was a kid to get my cars. We have had a similar journey mate. Looks like I am a good bit older than you so it's good to hear you talk about these OG's! Get a Hotshot!!! Great channel, love it. Subbed.
Good job! I still have my first buggy too. 1986 Nikko Turbo Panther. If I had known Tamiya existed back then, even a Grasshopper would have blown my mind 🙂 So I can imagine the excitement owning a DF-01.
I had a Kyosho Raider 2wd with the Acoms Techniplus stick controller when I was 10 (30 years ago! 😂). Absolutely loved it and tinkered with it and did bodge fixes when I broke it. My best mate had a Tamiya Hornet and a Schumacher Cat and never let me have a go. My Raider was faster and had better suspension than the Hornet but nowhere near the Cat. Good times! ☺️
You’re the reason I quit video games and realized there really is fun to be had besides video games. I still watch you tho :)
good job dude!
manta ray isthe last rc car i ever owned, 1 st was a nikko jet hopper and 2nd (and last) was the manta ray, which i think is still probably still sitting in my folks loft lol :) great memories brought back through seeing yours :)
Top job on the rebuild Mr Talbot. The RW gears are great. The shell was made by a company called Racecraft by the way. I had a Manta Ray too.
My first rc car was a ECX Electric rc boost 2wd RTR buggy about time you made that video Kevin that was cool 😎
My first proper car turned up Yesterday here in Oz (from the UK) My Kyosho Ultima is here and in a mess. I will strip it and clean it up and need to replace a few broken parks and it will sit on the shelf. I have an Ultima Pro XL which I still bash with, Love these cars even through they are over 30 years old!!!
I'm 14 and its hard to think that I'll be fixing my first rc,this is just warms my heart that hes doing this
how is it a year later?
Finally, thank you
Seeing all the old kinwald rc brings back memories for me too. Brian kinwald actually passed away about 6 months ago. Rip a true r.c legend brian kinwald.
Make me remember when I build my xxxs when I was 11. so much fun
Nice! My first was a Exceed rc 4wd nitro buggy the orange one with purple aluminum shock towers. Miss that ol girl.
such a great little car! my first was a rustler XL-5
My first RC was the traxxas slash 2wd and it is still my car to this day🚗💨
Hey Kev I love this video. Brings back some memories for me as well being 31 now. I didn’t have this one but my first RBC was a Tamiya wild dagger. I modified it so much it was so fun. I don’t sadly have it anymore. But I did find a Tamiya Mad Bison I bought about 10 years ago now it’s still new in box. They are quite rare now. I always wanted it when I was 12/13 but I couldn’t afford anything like you so when I seen it years later in a hobby store clear out of old back room stock I grabbed it. It’s the nitro version of the wild dagger essentially. Thanks for this video.
Thank you again for doing what you do and being such a great source of entertainment for me!
That was a great trip down memory lane.
I think it's awesome you used all the stuff you had for the car when you were a kid. It would be easy to rebuild it with modern components but it wouldnt be the car you ran when you were 10. Slap her on a shelf and enjoy the memories sir, good job.🍻
Inspired me to fix up my old Tamiya Mad Bull
gota love Tamiya i know there not the toughest but so iconic
