I just lost my 2013 Flex Limited in an accident, still dealing with insurance. If I can afford a 2019 Flex Limited after USAA is done rapeing my wallet, I absolutly will get another. I understand why some people may dislike the exterior look (I happen to love it) but climb inside and let the heated and cooled leather seats correse your buttocks while you listen to music from one of the best stock stereos I have heard. I honestly can't say enough great things about the Flex. It is large and heavy, but thanks to its electronic steering it really does feel like driving a sedan. With the power folding 3rd row, there is tons of space for friends and things alike. However, remember that Ford has sold very few of these compared to other makes and models out there. Which is nice in a lot of ways, however that also means Ford has sold very very few of the Limiteds. That makes it incredibly hard to find local comps. Not a big deal to most people, but if you are dealing with your insurer on a "Total Loss" claim and they low-ball you, it makes it a lot harder to make your case on your Flex's value. My Flex was loaded out, only things I didn't get was AWD and Ecoboost (if I can get a replacement Flex, I will be ordering the Ecoboost at the least). Insurance is offering me $13k, with every comp they used being an SE or SEL and 3/4 well over 100k miles (mine is at 56,600). If a Flex Limited with low miles and excellent condition (before the accident, obviously) is actually worth only 13 grand, that would make it in a league of its own when it comes to depreciation (like a boulder off a cliff), something to watch out for. A genuinely awesome vehicle with far more positive things to be said about them than anything negative.
I’m actually starting to love the Flex these days, it’s kinda a cross between a car, a truck, an SUV, a station wagon, and a minivan, I feel like it’s underrated, too bad it’s getting discontinued after 2020, it doesn’t deserve that, I honestly wanna buy one in the future
I have a 2016; those touch buttons aren’t as problematic as they say-I set mine to a temperature and set it on auto. The cruise system is amazing and as stated in the video, it’s very flexible
Had the opportunity to drive one of these for a week on vacation in Orlando. Absolutely loved it! Comfy, quiet, and easy to drive. Just keep the MPG in mind.
Just bought a 2013…All of you who are complaining about the electronics such as the my ford touch….You have no idea what you are talking about. It IS an option, there are standard models, unlike some have said on here. The one we bought doesn't have any of the touch button stuff….So do your research before you give an opinion publicly, it will save you from looking stupid.
I bought a 2016 Ford Flex Limited in Magnetic Gray, and I am loving this vehicle. I have always wanted one of these a few years ago, and I'm glad that I waited. My previous vehicle was a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. It was a great vehicle as well, but the interior wasn't as roomy as this Ford Flex. I am loving all of the power features, i.e.: Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Exterior Mirrors, Power Trunk Door. I am also loving the Sony stereo with a bunch of features. I hope they keep making this vehicle in the future. I am also loving the box feeling of the exterior. I plan to put vinyl wrap stripes on the side of mine so it looks different from other Ford Flex's.
I've owned a Magnet Grey Flex which got totaled when I got hit by an 18 wheeler (awesome accident btw) now I'm picking up a Dark Ink Blue Flex. These cars really grew on me. Its very practical
Don’t agree at all with this review at all. I just rented a 2013 Ford Flex drove it from Houston to South Florida with a few stops in between and all I can is wow this is such a nice family car. I currently own a 2011 Ford Expedition EL (the biggest one they make) and I prefer the Flex over my leviathan size Expedition EL. I found the Flex to be a quite ride, super comfy interior, excellent acceleration, wonderful turn ratio very smooth drive.
Love the square look. It's the most ergonomically perfect vehicle made in the states. Aerodynamics should always take a back seat to ergonomics. After all, isn't comfort and visibility more important than a miniscule increase in gas mileage on the highway?
Too bad they can't build it properly. Ordered a 19 limited flex since Feb received it a week after may 24 long weekend and came defected from factory. Roof is twisted around sunroof water leaks inside harness cut and needed to be replaced according to head mechanic at Oakland ford Lincoln in Oakville down the street from the plant where it's built.Fenders doors and truck not aligned. Run down on the clear coat and it's been at the shop for 2 months end of May going onto Augest. They Received 2 more on the lot that #2 ford flex and as everyone knows they stop making em now so I had to get what ever is left around Ontario. Dark gray paint is all flaky panels missed aligned, speaker wire hanging out of the rear right buckle piller in the trunk. Flex # 3 outer door trim by window flew off on test drive. Nicely build Ford keep in mind I've been a proud ford owner since day 1 and all head office can tell me there isn't any program for issues like this well maybe they should start since they're building crap. Now Im stuck with flex number 3 because it's in better shape then my 1st one that was custom built, it's at the body shop to get the rear bumper repainted as they damaged it and tryed touching up the paint by over spray all over the black trim and roof as the car is white and black roof. I love the vehicle don't get me wrong drives nice and lots of space but I'd be emberest to sell something like that. And Ford basically told me I'm shit out of luck. Tryed contacting the head office and can't get a hold of the manager that's taking care of my Cass been calling for a week left messages and no replay so I'm trying to get help from people with my experience I'm having.
I really don’t know what they’re on about with my ford touch. It has a silly name but otherwise it works like a charm. Easy to understand and quick to respond. The voice control actually works unlike any other system in the industry. I wish there was a dedicated button for heated/cooled seats though. And really once you pick a temperature for the climate control, do you ever mess with it again?
I just bought a 2012 SEL with 94,000 miles on it. I paid 13,995. I had to go to a buy here pay here lot because of my bad credit I had no choice. Current retail KBB say 11,000. It runs rides great and interior/exterior is in great condition fur it's age.
Consumer Reports needs to hire intelligent people for their reviews. I've never owned a car with Sync, but driven a few for short periods of time, and I've never had a problem operating the Sync and My Touch systems.
Agree completely. I have a 2014 Flex. If someone can't figure out the My Ford Touch, they must be completely out of touch with technology. Bluetooth works great. Sirius works great. System sounds really good. We get 22 mpg with the FWD SEL model. I'm a fan of boxy shapes and have a 1st gen Scion xB as well. These are great cars. The Ecoboost model with AWD is a stoplight sleeper.
We just bought a 2018 Ford Flex select with a 60/40 split second row bench. Our intention was to put our toddler in the middle and our two older kids on either side. This is not working for us because the child sitting behind the driver has no way of clicking their seatbelt in underneath the child seat. Is there a way to configure the Ford Flex 2nd row such that we can put a child seat in the middle and still allow the passenger behind the driver to use a seatbelt? The equipment that came with the Ford Flex that we just purchased does not allow us to do this. Is there a way to swap out equipment or modify the second row so we can do this? Bear in mind, our child seat is one of the narrowest in the industry. We really want our older kids to be next to the doors and our toddler in the middle.
And in all honestly, I don't know why American automakers didn't pick up on this when Japanese turbo charged 4 and 6 cylinders like the Nissan GTR started destroying the V8's. I'm glad Ford is starting to do this. GM needs to get with the program.
I hate all this high tech stuff on new cars. Just stick with simple buttons, a simple speedo and tacho and a simple electronics. Who the hell needs electric everything. Even in terms of seats it is so much quicker adjusting a manual seat compared to an electric one.
I too have a 2013. I wanted the Eco-Boost engine. I had to get the "touch button stuff" before Ford would let me have the engine. The Sync stuff just makes me mad every time I try to use it. Can I option Google instead of Microsoft? Talking to my phone works better than talking to my Flex.
All i have to say is.. i have a 2007 fusion and the most buttons i use are on the steering and they are to move from one song to the next or to move the temp control. The nav takes care of it's self. So I would welcome, saying 'set temp to' ... etc
Question to the owners: Is there a significant difference of power improvement from 2009 Flex which has only 262hp to the current 287hp 3.5L N/A? I used to own a limited AWD 2009 flex which was 262hp and I felt the power is slightly inefficient. Now I'm planning of getting a 2014 AWD 3.5L NA. I can't compared coz i already ditched the 2009.
The high tech (expensive to fix when it breaks out of warranty) will crash the resale value. This is why Mercedes and BMW become worth 20-30% of new when the warranty ends.
just because Hyundai and Kia made the Panoramic Sunroof on their cars .. made everybody else go crazy after it .. the only thing that i really hate for real is that touch button’s !! who is that made this idea I wonder how it will function after 10 years of use ?!!
Those ar not high tech... There ar reasons why others haven't done that even ford has came up with those buttons for a while. Because they react slow n hard to find when u ar driving! And not working when u ar wearing gloves
Now they just need to get that problematic Getrag MT-82, mind you the Tremec TR6060 isn't perfect either, BUT not like Mustangs.. my heart is still broken over the car I ordered.. and worse it's over at a chrysler dealer here right by my work lol. the automotive gods want to make me suffer. lol

Nehemiah Sturdevant The Ford Flex seems to be cursed. One of my former coworkers crashed his Ford Flex.
I just bought a 2019 after test driving it as a joke. Wasn't even on our radar, and we ended up buying it. Just a fantastic ride.

John Carraway ours gets great gas mileage! And it's awesome for my family and our road trips. Vary comfortable car.

I like that BOX. I'll buy it one day.
Damn they were flooring that thing at 1:16 lmao

Did you not hear him? There's a twin-turbo V6 that makes more hp and torque than most V8s. This is 2012, we gave up with big block V8s long ago.

Hey guys, I just bought a 2013 Ford Flex Sel and so far I love it . Any advice I should watch out for mechanical/maintenance?
Watch out for the water pump around 70k miles get it checked
Perfect uber car
I use mine for Uber; nothing but compliments
I hate all this high tech stuff on new cars. Just stick with simple buttons, a simple speedo and tacho and a simple electronics. Who the hell needs electric everything. Even in terms of seats it is so much quicker adjusting a manual seat compared to an electric one.
that is a 365 horsepower v6, v8's are going out of style in favor of turbocharged 6 cylinders
A normal salary would be gone in a week with this car here in Sweden. But I would love to have one!

You live with this car, and drive it around for your life, then you take the final journey in it.

+Juan “CriticalThinker” Dela Cruz get 2016 much better
I had a 2013 Flex Limited without the ecoboost. Get the EcoBoost, it is the ONLY thing I wish I had added when I placed the original order.
I honestly can't say enough great things about the Flex.
They moved the rear wiper over too
0:05 can't remember where I heard that music? anyone?
Funerary vehicle?
this is the future consumer reports better get used to it.
The high tech (expensive to fix when it breaks out of warranty) will crash the resale value. This is why Mercedes and BMW become worth 20-30% of new when the warranty ends.
Give it a 2.0 turbo diesel.
And you can sell it in rest of the world
just because Hyundai and Kia made the Panoramic Sunroof on their cars .. made everybody else go crazy after it .. the only thing that i really hate for real is that touch button’s !! who is that made this idea I wonder how it will function after 10 years of use ?!!
I'll let you know in 2022. So far no problems at all.
@@danreichel2267 Well?
We doesn't have this type of a model
Those ar not high tech... There ar reasons why others haven't done that even ford has came up with those buttons for a while. Because they react slow n hard to find when u ar driving! And not working when u ar wearing gloves
Love mine!
The interior really looks good but its exterior and shape especially when viewed from the side looks like a funeral car.
Beautiful
Ford
I think it's a refrigerator!
good info
Now they just need to get that problematic Getrag MT-82, mind you the Tremec TR6060 isn't perfect either, BUT not like Mustangs.. my heart is still broken over the car I ordered.. and worse it's over at a chrysler dealer here right by my work lol. the automotive gods want to make me suffer. lol
only a v6 in that huge thing
Ford gives you no standard equipment and has too many expensive confusing packages.
WOW! This car is amazing! - A W E S O M E!!!!
Ship it to me now I want one❤🎉😂
Denfinitely a HERTZ
nice
хороший обзор на русском языке есть на канале " US cars на русском "
It is not a car!
Panoramic Sunroof? not by a long shot... My ford touch? why did they ever think this would be cool? Ford= Fail
Hate that its too long...
One of the ugliest vehicles ever made. Ranks right up there with the Pontiac Aztek and Hyundai Veloster.
They're not for looking at, they're for driving! Have you ever driven one?
Hurst
its ugly as hell
It is ugly as hell!
