Hi - thanks for taking the time to make and share the video. The problem I have is that my ZTE ZXHN H298A router (V1.0 V1.0.25_HOP.1T11) no longer shows the Samba Service option. It used to but now it is not on the list under Status when I am in the Local Network menu. It just shows: WLAN; LAN; FTP; UPnP; DMS and DNS. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Holy, cow you don't know how happy you made me! This is one of the best videos on the interface I have seen. It seems to be such a niche thing but god are you helpful.
Hi, do you know if it's possible to update the router's firmware? And if it is, where to find and updated version (I've searched the whole internet but can't find one), and how to upload it to the router? For info, my interface looks exactly the same as yours, except the "User Configuration Management" tab on the System Management option in Management & Diagnosis is missing.
It's likely your ISP has hidden those sections to "stop you breaking stuff" and causing their support team more cost and time. For example Hyperoptic hide the VoIP section too. A bit like Technicolor and the ISP only Zyxels; it's likely you can only get the firmware if you are the ISP and must deploy the firmware as the ISP via remote rather than send the file to the customer. There is a way to hack this router but it is very complex: thecomputerperson.wordpress.com/2021/12/29/gaining-full-root-access-to-the-hyperoptic-zte-zxhn-h298a/
Hi man, sorry I'm asking very late on the video, but does this model of the router not have an option to view users internet search history? I'm looking for it so far nothing
So If I know the MAC address and would like to block that device (without changing wifi's name), I should add that device as a new item and that's it? or need to touch something in the Black/White list config? As in the function to access your NAS when you are away from home? If those are port forwards on the router then it won't work on Hyperoptic as they use CGNAT (Carrier Grade NAT) where tens, if not hundreds of customers share a public IP address. The only way around it is to either pay for a static IP address or grumble enough that they give one to you free (no idea if they do this, but CGNAT is a terrible idea so making Hyperoptic's life annoying over it is a good plan).

Not a clue and I suspect ZTE are the kind of vendor who won't give out firmware to the public, I expect your ISP have to get it and then send it to you.
It's not configured by default unless you have their phone service. Google the router model and tr-069, there is a wordpress.com site on hacking the router to access all the settings.
The ISP has the option to restrict or hide settings. I'd recommend swapping the router for your own if that is possible. Or you could try google for "full root hyperoptic zte" for very geeky complicated trick to take full control of the router.
Set LAN IP address to something not already in use. Turn off DHCP server and IPv6, plug lan port to lan port of your existing router. Should do the trick.
Maybe 10:43 - MAC address filtering. but thats a bad way of blocking stuff and easy to get around. Sensible way: Change the wifi name and password to something they don't know.
The hundreds of networks I support and the ISP I run the DHCP server for beg to differ. What do you feel is wrong? If you have time and would like to, you might want to look at my active directory setup tutorial videos too. It may reveal more about what I know (or do not know).
@@freename No issue. It's probably a moot point anyway, as for some reason even when I turn DHCP off on mine I can't use it as an AP. It registeres a new IP address, but nothing else. Maybe you could help expand on this?

How can I delete the router search history?
Routers can't tell what you search on google, bing, duckduckgo etc. They might be able to tell you visited google but not what you typed in.
Hi my friend I need the official firmware F680 V6 can you help me
Not a clue and I suspect ZTE are the kind of vendor who won't give out firmware to the public, I expect your ISP have to get it and then send it to you.
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the ipv6?
Which ISP?
And it looks like IPv6 either wasn't enabled or the options were hidden on the Hyperoptic provided one I used for recording this video!
It doesnt have QoS service?
Not on the firmware I had.
16:26 might be a good idea to connect the WAN to PC and see what Wireshark asking for VoIP :)
It's not configured by default unless you have their phone service. Google the router model and tr-069, there is a wordpress.com site on hacking the router to access all the settings.
I couldn't find DHCP binding on mine.
Not at 12:50 above Port Control? Who provided your router/what ISP are you with?
@@freename It's actually my Mexican friend's router. She uses MegaCable.
The ISP has the option to restrict or hide settings. I'd recommend swapping the router for your own if that is possible.
Or you could try google for "full root hyperoptic zte" for very geeky complicated trick to take full control of the router.
how can i change MTU cant find it anywhere
Which ISP provided it? They quite likely lock the settings screens down so you can't get to some items.
Any help about zte ZXNH H298Q ?
What help do you mean?
@@freename ppp to ip .i want to make it like access point
Set LAN IP address to something not already in use. Turn off DHCP server and IPv6, plug lan port to lan port of your existing router. Should do the trick.
@@freename im trying and it isnt working, if u can help id appreciate it
@@freename also i cant fin ipv6 maybe thats it
i cant find mtu on my zte h369a
Your provider might have hidden the option.
Bro how to disable qr code shared wifi
Qr code on a sticker on the router? Change the WiFi name and password(key). Then the sticker won't have the correct details.
How to change internet router name ?
The WiFi name? ( And password )¿
How to block someone ZTE modem
Maybe 10:43 - MAC address filtering. but thats a bad way of blocking stuff and easy to get around.
Sensible way: Change the wifi name and password to something they don't know.
How change mac?
Not sure you can, sorry.
Hello, password user admin please?
It's on the sticker on the router. They are all unique.
Hi there, QoS?
I don't think there is.
@@freename thanks again for the speedy response
Tiene qos?
Not in the firmware / configuration I had access to.

It is unique to each router and is on the sticker. Listen to the instructions at 00:15 .
@@freename bro any password
Qr code stop
You want to stop the qr code on the router from connecting them to the WiFi? If so, log into the admin page and change WiFi name and password!
you have very little clue about networking and dhcp
The hundreds of networks I support and the ISP I run the DHCP server for beg to differ. What do you feel is wrong?
If you have time and would like to, you might want to look at my active directory setup tutorial videos too. It may reveal more about what I know (or do not know).
@@freename I don't think I agree that you know nothing about DHCP, but the option to turn it on and off was right there and you missed it.
@@jayneleennno That is very true :) I did. Right there, and I noticed about a week later; sadly no way to edit the video part of videos once posted :(
@@freename No issue. It's probably a moot point anyway, as for some reason even when I turn DHCP off on mine I can't use it as an AP. It registeres a new IP address, but nothing else. Maybe you could help expand on this?
