They aren't anything special. Nice to drive, and I like how the screen faces the driver. However the spec isn't great. Some of the stuff you get at top spec here is standard on other cars. And the fact they don't come with things such as a reversing camera and full leather seats it fairly poor. they aren't cheap either. Be sure to do your research and read carefully what each model of the A1 has, to see which is best suited to you, otherwise you may be disappointed. Also worth noting the materials used aren't good either, not much of a premium feel. Consider brands like Mazda, Toyota and Honda as possible alternatives. I get what you say at 7:15, But even if the price bracket is £18,000-£20,000 I'd still expect a fairly premium feel. If a car was under £13000 for example then obviously there's different expectations
Thank you for your comment! I liked it as a package overall, but perhaps not enough car for the price! Your points should hopefully help other viewers 👍🏼
I think I would rather get a new Clio RS Line. The Clio interior and dashboard looks more impressive tbh. And the largest sized portrait Renault touchscreen is (I'm told) better than the Audi A1's.
Audio quality in the beginning could be improved. It was too soft. I agree that many A1 reviews are S-line or fully kitted out trims. So I'm pleased with your baseline trim review. Thanks!
@@JoshWaller The car I've tested doesn't have that feature unfortunately, but does have an android auto type thing where you can get maps and other applications from your phone via a cable. A nice info-tainment system overall. Not sure what yours will have. Best of luck with it 👍
I have a 35 TFSI S Line, and I absolutely love it. It doesn't have any extras like sat nav, but we have an electric and never use t he inbuilt sat nav - nothing will beat Googles platform (£££), and it works like its native in the A1 too (I don't buy that its worth spending money for a later sale, you won't not sell your car if you want to). I have mine second hand, and think I'd be tempted by a new one, or at least one with the speaker pack. That's really important to me, and the current speakers could be better. No one ever reviews those?! :D
I ve had an sline a1 for about a year now. It’s my first car so I dont have a lot of experience with cars but it’s definitely an amazing car to drive people around and impress all your friends and pick up girls when ur 19 😂
The A1 doesn't come with satnav unless you upgrade to the expensive Technology pack or buy the top spec vorsprung model. As you appear to be driving the base model viewers might think they get satnav even on that version.
Thank you Antarea. I've pinned your comment for others too see. It's a shame you need to spend alot more for the tech pack, but perhaps worth it if people want it when you come to sell.
Additional extras like fancy satnav are pointless thesedays with vehicles that have apple carplay and android auto. It's just easy money for the sales guy when someone ticks that box on the extras sheet.
The engine sounds terrible when you are outside! I agree with what you said about quality and price but.... I always expect more from premium brands. It really turns me off to go to a premium brand and discover that although the car is already more expensive than normal car like a Renault or Mazda that I still have to add things that would be standard even on a FIAT. And then I find out that the materials are not that great and I start wondering if this is actually a good buy and how much "badge" I am paying and how much "car" I am actually getting.... Honestly, I really wanted a premium car for long motorway trips but the more I think of it, the more I realise it might not be the better option for me
@@QuickShiftTV2024 I was really considering this, maybe it has better materials thany C4.... It must be great to drive around in the city and good in the motorway but without breaking the bank but I am Becoming more and more convided it is not the car I need.

Nice looking car, the angles and edges in the cockpit really do stand out from a lot of other cars and look great.
Thanks Ollie! It's appealing without being too over the top! With some sportier seats the interior would be on for top marks.
Super work! Interesting to see the updated version mate. Keep it going.

Non detachable, welded in boot. Confirmed. The wonders of modern motoring.

That's great to hear. You'll be very happy with your choice. Plenty of poke for a first car too. Thanks Josh.

does the gearstick have a button to stick it in reverse?
No, the manual i tested was just a push down and into reverse 👍🏼
no push to start button?
Hi Abdullah. No - unfortunately it's a turn key ignition to start the car. Prehaps they'll bring one in later in the future 👍🏼

Audi ruined the interior with this car. No longer unique and looks like every other car models 2019 and above
I would have to agree Rami. It appeals to the mass market thought. Not special enough to interest enthusiast's anymore unfortunately.
