@@paulnoonan8602 sorry I never responded to this, youtube notifications are weird. For me seanie McMahon will always be the definition of an inspiration. Just look at that Cork game in 95. Not to mention he's a sound lad. Not a word out of him. Ball on the ground, head down, do the job. Jamesie O'Connor to me is Clares greatest forward, huge style. The originator of the modern running hurler you see in the likes of alot of limerick forwards, Cork lads like conor Lehane and Tony Kelly seems to burrow alot from O'connor. Athony daly is a bit of an underrated hurler. Very much a leader anywhere. Spirit of that team. Apart of that teams legend. Too me can't make it in past walsh or ó Halpin at wing back
In fairness, they did pick a helluva team. Although there were some truly great players who didn't even get a mention in the conversation... I would've brought these boys into the mix: Brendan Cummins (very surprising that he was dismissed so readily). Defensively, both Seanie McMahon & Ollie Canning are both in with a good shout for this team. And The Cats' 2 ever-steady Right Corner Backs - Michael Kavanagh & Paul Murphy have some merit. And up front, it's nice to hear Jamesie O'Connor getting mentioned. But whatabout John Mullane? And Gary Kirby as well... And finally our current greats - Michael Brick Walsh & Padraic Maher won't be forgotten in a hurry.
Interesting to see how many of the current Limerick team would make this team now? It's impossible and people forget greatness as time passes Gearoid Hegarty, Diarmuid Byrnes, Aaron Gallon, Kyle Hayes etc - 5 all Irelands. maybe 6 coming But who do you leave out?!
My team: Anthony Nash, JJ Delaney, Diarmuid O’ Sullivan, Brian Lohan, Seanie MacMahon, Seán Óg O hAilpín, Tommy Walsh, Aidan Walsh (Cork), Darragh Fitzgibbon, John Mullane, Henry Shefflin, TJ Reid, DJ Carey, Patrick Horgan (Hoggy), Christy Ring.
Why when the likes of these people are picking teams do they insist in placing players in positions other than their normal ones. The best player in their respective positions should be picked there and not out of their normal position just to facilitate another player no matter how good. Just my. opinion
The question now is, how many Limerick men of this team get in. I think there’s a serious argument for Quaide and Gillane at least. Hegarty, Hayes and Byrnes might be in with a shout in a few years

Not a tipp man in sight
In all fairness T. J. Reid is a superb hurler. The fact that he wasn't there was dissapinting. Joe Canning should have been kn the edge of the square
