My wife and I spontaniously quote some part of his sandwich making vid when it applies to whatever we are doing at the time.. This happens pretty much every week since we cook a lot from our own garden....ya know, "grown locally".
Cherish the great man while we still have him as he's a relic to a time of broadcasting genius and wonder. Every Gael had their lives enhanced by this man at some stage. Simply the best.
Not only a fantastic commentator of the games (indeed the best) but also a fantastic commentator on the games, the culture surrounding them and of the people involved. Wonderful story teller too, which obviously lends well to a role as a commentator. And he could read a shopping list and hold your attention with his beautiful voice and perfect delivery. What a man! Thank you for the entertainment Mícheál.
Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Well done Shane. That hour flew, would easily listen to another. Great point Micheál about recently retired players in recent times
We call it soccer over here and I have never watched a match or even played the game, but I feel the same way. I love his voice and also the fact that he is so very passionate about what he does. He loves this game!
If I had to meet my death by being cut up into tiny pieces by kitchen cutlery, I'd be fine with it if I had this man gently narrate his technique to me as he did it.
He's right when he talks about Sean purcell, Michael o hare said the same thing Sean purcell was the best ever, Michael o hare and Michael o muircheartaigh would know because they would have seen alot of great players in there time, sean purcell was the best
Try this - a funny patch in the middle of the clip when a streaker comes onto the field and he incorporates it into his commentary - say what you see as he said himself ua-cam.com/video/NeX3b8Y5yLY/v-deo.html
I was excited to watch this, but then I noticed the yellow blips at the bottom. 14 ads?? I'm all for you being able to monetize, but when the video is broken up by that many advertisements, it just isn't worth watching. I'll have to skip this one.
If you have or purchase a Google Chromecast Dongle, put it into your T.V and watch your videos or videos like these without the repetitive ads interrupting your enjoyment. I find they have just 5 seconds ones at best and even none at all most of the time. Hope this helps 👍🏻
i will buy some good ham from the market to boil at home and then make the perfect ham sandwich as demonstrated and perfected by Micheal. i will not settle for cheap ham available in packets resembling razor blades.
Brown bread. Wholemeal
Did anybody get a little peckish watching this interview, And get a craving for a perfect ham sandwich
Boiled ham only.
Not with the packaged type, reminds me too much of razor blades
Time to serve us up a helping of “Perfect Sandwich ASMR.” I love this man. Bless his heart. ☺️👌🏻
Had to get locally grown bread
The finally popular, west Kerry tomatoes
Bread was never meant to be triangular
Brown bread... Wholemeal
@@danielroman7699 good example

@@brokenchickenleg I am so happy to know that other people make references to this guy in the privacy of their homes and families. Hilarious.
@@lucifervalentine275 the man is a sandwich making legend. His legacy lives on every time I cut my tomatoes unevenly...
From sports commentator to legendary sandwich maker. I too feel a bit peckish for a sandwich with ham that’s BOILED at home
As long as it isn't triangular
Irish bacon, of course. And don't forget the tomatoes.
Cupla tomato
I know it is pretty off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream new series online?
@Karter Quentin i would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
Now, I like plenty of it, substance to it
What a legend this man is loved his commentary on radio. A special man. 😊
For me that would be sufficient

Would have thought they'd be more green to be seen in the room.
LMAOOO
Like a field
Lettuce was grown loooooohkly
Could listen to this man talk all day. Great interview
Anyone else here in the hope that he might make a sandwich?
Only if he uses fresh, local ingredients
You know it
Jay oh absolutely agree. And definitely no ham that resembles Razor Blades.
How can someone not love this man
Nah, he’s not a regular sandwich maker..
When I’m 90 I hope to just be able to remember my kids name. He’s going on about teams and players over the ages like it’s tattooed in his brain
Why does the sandwich maker guy keep going on about sports??
He's one of the greatest sports commentators for the GAA of all time xD
@@marykerrigan6462 never heard of the GAA...but he makes a mean sandwich!
good one, like it
I love the 14 or 15 different commercials...It really enriches the entire experience

Amazing interview. Micheàl hardly stopped to take a breath and so interesting. RIP Micheàl.
Lovely interview. Micheal had a lovely voice and delivered it beautifully.
Brilliant interview, Michael had a gift to paint a picture with words.
Almost like a seanachai
Can't express how much I enjoyed that. Really superb, thank you.

Legend
I love that the majority of comments are about his sandwich video, hahaha
two legends
What an absolutely beautiful human being ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Perfect sandwich fella!
I would place those like the team of Kerry or Tyrone would line out, not too near to each other, you know. Like Séan O'Neill would. Strong characters.
That was a pleasure!!
this guy was watching hurling in 1939?!? holy shit
Listening to Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh makes me wish I was Irish.
You can probably play the gaa though theres European competition , same off in Australia, Asian countries and Americas
Wish heard the comeback for Meath lady's in 2021. Their story was made for hi. Án mhí mná🇮🇪🇮🇪
Super stuff the 55 minutes flew, could of listened to him for another 55!

I’d have no problem making a GOOD sandwich
Ah good long vid! Think I'll grab the boiled ham.
I see tea but I don’t see any sandwich
Why is everyone talking about sandwiches… RIP Micheál

Because sandwiched between pre- life and after life is a legend

Once.
I’m still hungry from having seen it.
because of our peckishness
Ham boiled at home, plenty of it: two pieces will do, thank you.
Down until you feel the solid board underneath
Sandwich breath.
